Things that please me

Helping an eleven year old find a forever family.

The way my hair smells after I wash it.

Thunder storms.

The smell of vanilla.

An honest compliment.

Good manners.

about me
Who am I? Mmmmmm.....a work in progress, as we all are. I live day by day, trying to enjoy the little things, like some things that seem endless and wonderful (i.e. waves, my son's smile, rain drops, and coffee). I am a woman, mother, survivor, student, teacher, daughter, lover, and the list goes on and on. Enough about me...what about you?

What am I thinking now?

I made my first purchase on EBay back in February. I decided to buy a Palm Treo, but my brother convinced me to get a used one. He helped me find one and I bid on it. I won the bidding fairly easily, but still felt a sense of satisfaction, like I had really won something. Boy, was I wrong. I got the phone. It was totally damaged and did not work. It was missing the charger and stylus. The A**hole who sold it to me told me, when I complained and demaded a refund, that it was my own fault for ... read more

I was thinking about the whole economic stimulus package. I started out just thinking about what I would do with my check. Pay of some debt..maybe induldge in a manicure. My son's share will go to his college fund. I won't make any big purchases with it. But that is exactly what the government wants us to do. Buy! Buy! Buy! TV's, clothes, cars, computers, etc.... Then I got to thinking about the packaging of those items and the environmental impact all this purchasing will have. As long as ou... read more

Hi Triber buddies,

As you know I am a brain tumor survivor three times over. I have been lucky that medical technology has not only allowed me to survive, but to do so with minimal side effects and even be able to have a special baby boy. In the effort to further research about brain tumor's Jack and I will be walking (he will ride his bike, with me pushing) in the Bay Area Brain Tumor Walk and Angel Adventure on May 3rd. My goal is to raise $300 and I am hoping you can help. Of course all... read more

I am terrible at maintaining my online life. I know, I'm sorry. I would like to say it is because I am so busy living it up in real life, but that isn't true. In reality I am very busy debating about quitting my job, picking out a new preschool for my son, laundry, debating which bill to pay, cleaning house, laundry, and occasionally finding some time to do something for myself, that is my own laundry. So I would like to apologize for not commenting on your blogs and not being more active on ... read more

I consider myself a civic minded individual. I don't avoid jury duty, i abide by the reasonable laws, and I vote. I will often even sign the ballot initiatives. But, let me warn you to beware of those signature collectors. I was accosted by one who easily convinced me to sign an initiative that would help fund Children's Hospitals. I like children and hospitals, so I signed. I did read it first though, to be sure what I was signing. After signing he directs me to a second signature page. He c... read more
