I'm still trying to figure out if I want to leave the top portion black or sew some wine burnout velvet on it. I'm also toying with the idea of sewing these shiney mirror like coins over the antique fringe.

Here's what I've managed so far....my first attempt was not so good. I learned that sewing with stretch panne velvet is not easy...nor fun. I'm very pleased with my second try.

When I first started belly dance classes, I went out and bought all of this bright eastern fabric. The colors remind me of Esmerelda the Disney gypsy. I decided to funk it up a bit from the caberet intention I originally had and I added lots of yarn and fabric peices. This belt is awsome when it spins! The second one is inspired by my friend Macie's love of The Cure. She always dances so cute to that spiderman song. I think this belt could go bellydance or burlesque! It's got tiny little clock gears sewn to it.

I Love the colors in this and it's got an image of a pretty bird lady on it. You should see the pretty lining. I like the way these tie in large bows on the sides so they will fit a wide range of sizes..it also adds to the hips.

I like to wear mine with jeans and a tank top when I'm not wearing it to class. I'm planning on making tops for these too in the halter style. What do ya think?!
