about me
Well, I guess I'd describe myself as a pagan tattooed "boi" (and Librarian) - in that order of priority.
As to my ink - well I guess you can tell that it's fairly important to me...! I love the empowering feeling of knowing that I look how I do out of a conscious decision. I love wearing my own art (interpreted by another artist) on my skin -- of being a walking canvas and of having my symbolic/religious life etched into my very body. I love the looks I get when I show my tattoos off in the street -- the shocked but fascinated looks of old people and young kids. I love the fascinated fear my colleagues have over it's progress and the pain involved. I love being anomalous -- a tattooed librarian! I love being someone that other tattooed guys will look at and admire. I love being able to compare ink with other guys -- Bikers, punks and travelers alike -- the immediate bond from knowing that we are part of an exclusive 'club' of people who have faced the needle and allowed themselves to be transformed by it. I love finally being one of the guys that I used to fantasize about as a kid: TATTOOED, BEARDED, LEATHERED, SEXUALIZED, MASCULINE! Shit - I just love my ink!
