I search out stability but to be honest I am only ever attracted to the chaotic; favoring passion over functionality. I’ve always been attracted to the ones that leave the stove on and candles burning and forget to change the oil in their car. The rock skippers and the safety pinned william blakes. The ones that get so wrapped up in their own world, it is not that they forget you exist, they just momentarily don't care. As for me I am a complicated mixture of the boys I would like to be and the girl I occasionally am. I am into the Marx brothers, James Baldwin, organized labour, Ralph Eugene Meatyard, the "Arcades" Project, the Magnetic Fields and Joy Division (of course) and drink the occassional Yukon Jack (on the rocks). My attraction has always been stuck between the movie stills of paul newman in 'cool hand luke' and elizabeth taylor in 'cat on a hot tin roof.' i am attracted most to those that hit the hardest-- the verbal jousters-- the ones that know how to use their words and whose meanness can just be mistaken as honesty.
