<div>I know the Way You Can Get

I know the way you can get
When you have not had a drink of Love:

Your face hardens,
Your sweet muscles cramp.
Children become concerned
About a strange look that appears in your eyes
Which even begins to worry your own mirror
And nose.

Squirrels and birds sense your sadness
And call an important conference in a tall tree.
They decide which secret code to chant
To help your mind and soul.

Even angels fear that brand of madness
That arrays itself against the world
And throws sharp stones and spears into
The innocent
And into one's self.

O I know the way you can get
If you have not been drinking Love:

You might rip apart
Every sentence your friends and teachers say,
Looking for hidden clauses.

You might weigh every word on a scale
Like a dead fish.

You might pull out a ruler to measure
From every angle in your darkness
The beautiful dimensions of a heart you once
Trusted.

I know the way you can get
If you have not had a drink from Love's
Hands.

That is why all the Great Ones speak of
The vital need
To keep remembering God,
So you will come to know and see Him
As being so Playful
And Wanting,
Just Wanting to help.

That is why Hafiz says:
Bring your cup near me.

For I am a Sweet Old Vagabond
With an Infinite Leaking Barrel
Of Light and Laughter and Truth
That the Beloved has tied to my back.

Dear one,
Indeed, please bring your heart near me.
For all I care about
Is quenching your thirst for freedom!

All a Sane man can ever care about
Is giving Love!

    </a>
<div>I got this email from Jamie Court of the Consumer Watch Dog Group:

Your computer may be having a conversation about you with Google and you don't even know it. That's why we made this video: to show how Google tracks your every key stroke, and to ask the company to stop.

If you believe Google needs to better protect our privacy, please send a free message to the company's board of directors through this link:
http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/corporateering/corpact4/?_requestid=42794
(if the link doesn't work, try highlighting it with your mouse then copy and paste the URL into your web browser)

Last week, we talked to Google's team about making privacy a bigger priority. The team leader said it was just a question of how much "real estate" on the screen Google was willing to devote to privacy. Join us in telling Google how valuable your privacy really is.

Google's role is now unprecedented—the Internet goliath is no longer merely collecting some data about how we search and surf the web. Its new browser and software are actually sending information from inside our computers to its servers.

Recently, Consumer Watchdog wrote the Justice Department to stop Google's planned advertising alliance with Yahoo on the grounds that Google's growing dominance over every aspect of personal computing is a serious threat. Read our letter to Google's founders and to the Justice Department. (The government is reportedly blocking the deal absent major concessions.)

It's time for Google to become a standard bearer for privacy.

Please watch the video and send it to your friends. Google has already agreed to fix a small privacy problem pointed out in the video. But, overall, the company claims its users don't expect much privacy. Now it's time for the users to speak up.

Thanks for all you do,

<div>Hey wow! I was researching DMT and melatonin secretions by the pineal gland and found some interesting studies that demonstrate the presence of electrically sensitive calcite crystals in the brain. This is an important finding that supports the conclusion many are reaching that cell phone use is directly linked to brain cancer. Check out this article:

<div>David Wolfe's website http://www.thebestdayever.com features some articles on Nassim Haramein.
Here I've paraphrased much of what David reports from his recent visit to Nassim's retreat in Hawaii.
This brilliant man shares a number of interesting ideas on the following subjects:
Planetary Physics
Intergalactic Intelligences
Mayan Cosmology
and Global Warming

In regard to planetary physics, Nassim asserts that the Earth and all other spinning planets in our solar system are actually double toroids (not spheres). A toroid is a donut. Imagine two donuts , one on top of the other with both together torqued down to an approximate sphere and that is what the planets are like. That means that underneath the polar ice caps on all planets, the energy swirls into the planet like a whirlpool. This is occurring right now, visibly on Saturn's South Pole...please look for this on NASA's website or web-search: "Saturn South Pole Storm."

Because the vortex, swirling action is a COOLING action, the water on the Earth freezes causing us to be unable to see the flow of energy, fluid, etherealized matter, etc. into the north and south poles of our planet.

Nassim hypothesizes that the poles are melting not entirely due to global warming, but mostly due to activity changes in our Sun due to our approach of the galactic ecliptic. As we approach the galactic ecliptic (the equator of our galaxy) we, and our sun, are being bombarded by cosmic light (enormous amounts of energy). This is causing major changes in the Sun and all the planets. It is estimated that we cross over the very center of the galactic equator-ecliptic on December 21st, 2012. In addition to that, Dec. 21 is the solstice and there will be a solar eclipse that day.

Here's more on the subject of galactic cosmic rays:
http://www.dailygalaxy.com/my_weblog/2007/07/the-milky-way-c.html

Nassim also suggests that the moon is not a natural satellite of the Earth, but was positioned where it is by other intelligences in order to dramatically shift the position of the Earth, the weather of the Earth, the dominance of certain life forms...basically, as an experiment. For those of us who have never heard of this before, we might take note that the moon is the only celestial body ever observed that does not rotate about its own axis.

Nassim also believes that our sector of the galaxy is filled with many different types of aliens, all of whom are essentially observing us, experimenting on us and, for the most part, trying to help us expand into galactic consciousness. The "evil alien invasion" is a deliberate construct fabricated in order to perpetuate fear and control once the one-world-government, micro-chipped population, goal is achieved. There is a strong argument given in the second part to the film: http://zeitgeistmovie.com/, which elaborates more upon this. I highly recommend it.

Have a safe trip if you're going to the 15yr Moon Tribe Celebration!

Love,

Sno

<div>Visual Artists Go to Washington, Independent Record Labels Oppose Orphan Works Act:

Last week over two dozen visual artists, representing illustrators, photographers, fine artists and the arts licensing trades went to Capital Hill to explain to legislators how the Orphan Works Act will harm creators and the hundreds of thousands of art-related small businesses that serve and are dependent on them. At the same time, independent music labels have joined the opposition to orphan works legislation as it currently exists.

The Illustrators’ Partnership has stressed that Orphan Works legislation should be limited to true orphaned work and not act as an unwarranted compulsory license imposed on commercial markets. IPA, the Advertising Photographers of America and the Artists Rights Society have joined to offer amendments to that effect.

Excerpted from the Washington Internet Daily/Monday June 09, 2008:

"The visual-arts community hit the Hill last week to protest what it portrays as a hijacking of the orphan-works issue as it was presented in a 2005 Copyright Office report..."

The Copyright Office ran a bait-and-switch from its 2005 notice of intent, which focused on facilitating libraries', museums' and other nonprofits' efforts to digitize collections to improve access to them, [Illustrators’ Partnership co-founder Brad] Holland said. Artists want the issue narrowed back to that focus, scrapping commercial use, he said...Copyright Office roundtables on orphan works never addressed alternates to registries, an "untested, untried, unaccountable market system" favoring Google, Getty, Corbis and other commercial aggregators, Holland said. [Cynthia] Turner [also of the Partnership] said artists would incur high costs registering works, and they hesitate to hand over high-res, commercial versions to Google or others.

In the same article, Washington Internet Daily also reports that the leading group of independent music labels has broken with the corporate music trade associations. The American Association of Independent Music has published a position paper opposing the current orphan works bills. The article quotes a music industry executive: "I can tell you that nobody in the music business" sought the bill.

... the executive said the bill is "de facto... establishing a new compulsory license" by putting unregistered artists at a legal disadvantage in court. The law can't explicitly require registration or it will violate the Berne Convention, TRIPS and other treaties the U.S. has signed, the executive said. Book publishers and music executives in the U.K. think the U.S. will be in trouble, the executive said, citing a recent visit: "I can tell you there are European commissioners that are looking at this right now."

Bush's top-down torture policies

    </a>
<div>On Friday night, in a national television interview on ABC News,
President Bush directly admitted that the White House was deeply
involved in decisions about the CIA's use of torture.

Recent reports indicate that members of the Bush administration
including Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Colin Powell
and George Tenet met regularly and approved the CIA's use of
"combined" "enhanced" interrogation techniques
-- tactics that amount to torture.

I just demanded that my members of Congress support strenuous efforts,
including the appointment of an independent prosecutor, to hold
President Bush, Vice-President Cheney and other high-ranking officials
accountable for their role in crafting torture policy.

I thought you would like to know about this and would also want to do
something about it. To take action, just follow the link below.

    </a>
<div>Those are two words that would get anyone’s attention. They certainly caught my attention!

But those are the words that millions of Americans could hear if Congress passes the SAVE Act.

The SAVE Act would require every employer in the U.S. to use so-called “electronic employment verification,” cross-checking all current and potential employees’ citizenship status against databases that the government itself knows are filled with errors and inaccuracies.

And what if the Social Security Administration or Department of Homeland Security get it wrong and can’t verify a person’s citizenship or right to work using their buggy database? Tough luck. That person is out of a job, with no right to appeal. I thought you would like to know about this and would want to do something about it. To take action, just follow the link below.

    </a>
										<div>Dear Friend,

Finally, the House of Representatives has stood up to President Bush’s fear-mongering.

The Bush White House recently tried to bully the House of Representatives on an important bill that affects your privacy. With cries of “soft on terrorism,” they insisted that the House pass a bill giving immunity to telecommunications companies that handed over the phone and email records of innocent Americans without a warrant.

But House leaders refused to be steamrollered by Bush’s fear tactics.

Now the Bush administration is doing everything they can to force Congress to cave in to their demands. Tell the House to stand strong against such tactics. The truth is, the government has all the power its needs to keep us safe and this legislation is unnecessary and unconstitutional.

Join me and the ACLU and tell the House to put “Facts Over Fear.” Please sign the petition.

93 Reasons To Oppose Prop 93

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/sno/blog/c8768a7a-2863-4750-a8b1-37a2146e0dec"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/2e8/625/2e862545-dc30-4b7b-a04a-92d28581f3d7.thumb" width="52" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>I received this in my mailbox this morning from the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights. I found it very helpful, hope you do too.-

-----------------------------------------------------------------

If you want Sacramento politicians to be less arrogant and more responsive to voters, forward this email to your friends, and vote no on Prop 93 next Tuesday.

Prop 93 extends legislative term limits for 42 incumbents who otherwise would have to leave office, while pretending to shorten terms. The fundraising for Prop 93 has compromised consumer protection in Sacramento this session. 55% of the $15.7 million raised by Speaker Fabian Núñez came from special interest groups in the health care debate who didn't want real reform. AT&amp;T, which won telecommunications deregulation from the Speaker, coughed up $250,000. Chevron, which derailed reform of its pricing and hot fuel rip-offs, gave six figures.

Yes, we need more legislative experience in Sacramento. But not the experience of overseas junkets with CEOs, Pebble Beach policymaking with lobbyists, and global jet-setting on campaign contributors' credit cards.

If Prop 93 passes, the politicians behind it will learn it pays to cozy up to special interests and to forget the people they are supposed to represent. (Read our LA Times commentary on the shenanigans behind Prop 93's financing.)

Below are our 93 reasons to oppose Prop 93. If everyone on our list forwarded this email to 93 people, we would reach 8 million, the number of voters who turned out in the last general election.

Please help spread the word.

Jamie Court

1. Prop 93 EXTENDS the terms of current members of the California legislature
2. Lobbyists like Prop 93 because they’ve spent a lot of money buying politicians already in office
3. Termed out politicians created an extra third election in 2008, wasting $80-$90 million, so they can run for office again
4. 42 lawmakers in their final terms would get more time in office
5. A last-minute amendment to 93 made sure Senate leader Don Perata got 4 more years in office
6. Assembly Speaker Núñez would get 6 more years as Speaker
7. Perata is under investigation by the FBI
8. Non-partisan Center for Governmental Studies predicts legislators will serve an average 4 years longer than they do now if 93 passes
9. 93 would never have reached the ballot if Perata and Núñez weren’t termed out this year
10. Even supporters hold their noses because 93 gives extra time to incumbent politicians
11. Pebble Beach fundraisers
12. Junkets to South America with Chevron
13. Junkets to Japan with AT&amp;T &amp; Verizon
14. Núñez goes from lame-duck to long-time Speaker in the mold of Willie Brown - whose 14-year tenure as Speaker prompted term limits in the first place
15. Politicians failed to keep promises on redistricting reform
16. Re-instated the yacht tax loophole
17. Passed a midnight bill letting rich developer and big donor Anschutz Entertainment Group gain access to bond money approved for low-income housing
18. $14.5 billion budget deficit
19. Health reform bill was turned into vehicle for Prop 93 fund-raising
20. Speaker using non-profit to fundraise above contribution limits
21. Legislators scheduled 42 fundraisers for three days at end of legislative session
22. No on-time budget in 2007
23. No legislation passed to lower gas prices
24. Rejected bill to regulate health insurers the way we regulate auto insurers
25. Caved to oil industry and killed refinery regulation
26. Speaker-backed bill taxed drivers, not oil cos., for research into alternative fuels
27. Speaker raised millions from special interests for state Party, then transferred $4 million back to his own campaign
28. Speaker spent $2,562 in campaign funds at Louis Vuitton, Paris
29. And used campaign money to buy $5149 worth of French wine
30. Then "sold" wine to Democratic Party to cover it up
31. Politicians' family members working for groups with interests before the legislature
34. Passed legislation to deregulate cable industry, gutting consumer protections
35. Approved bill to reduce disclosure of special interest contributions to pols’ pet causes
36. Insurance committee chair appointed for fundraising prowess, not insurance knowledge
37. Let oil industry write bill to kill fix of “hot fuel” ripoff
38. Perata funneled work to favorite political consultants including his son
39. Speaker ignored fiscal analysis of his health plan predicting a possible $5 billion deficit in just five years
40. And called CHP to harass citizens who dared to challenge his legislation
41. Legislators held fundraisers with insurance companies during Special Session on Health Care Reform
42. Speaker Nunez ordered legislators to make contributions to 93 ($2 million so far)
43. $8.7 million of ‘Yes on 93’ money from groups that bought concessions in health care deal
44. SEIU: $25M a year in workforce development funds and membership expansion in health care bill for $3.7M Prop 93 donation
45. CTA: health care lottery funding proposal killed for its $2M to Prop 93
46. Big Pharma: neutered the drug bulk purchasing pool in health reform for $500K to Prop 93
47. 39 newspaper editorial boards say No on 93
48. Current term limits diversified the California legislature
49. One Senator would be termed out only after his 26th year in office
50. Sixty percent of incumbent Senators will be able to stay in Sacramento 18 years or more
51. Donors who gave money to Prop 93 might want something in return:
52. SEIU $3,737,646
53. California Teachers Association $2,000,100
54. AFSCME $960,633
55. Assembly Speaker Fabian Núñez's Committee to Protect California's Future $690,000
56. Pharmaceutical Research &amp; Manufacturers of America $500,000
57. California Democratic Party $395,074
58. California Hospitals Association $350,000

60. California State Council of Laborers $300,000

<div>Subject: Don't let the government spy on you without a warrant

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has a choice to make. We need to tell him to make the right choice.

The Senate will soon vote on a bill to regulate the electronic eavesdropping on Americans. What we don't know is whether Harry Reid will ask the Senate to take up a bill that was written closely with the Bush administration, or a more reasonable bill.

President Bush wants Congress to pass a bill that buries the truth about illegal spying. The bill Bush wants stops pending lawsuits against phone companies that illegally handed over the phone calls and emails of Americans. Stopping lawsuits that could uncover the truth about illegal spying lets him off the hook. And it gives no incentives for companies to follow the law in the future.

Tell Senator Reid to bring up a reasonable bill that does not let lawbreakers off the hook, and does not let the government seize your phone calls and emails without a warrant.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has the power to pick which bill the Senate takes up. He needs to hear from every American who wants him to stand up for our privacy and not let phone companies off the hook. You can take action by signing a petition to Senator Reid now.

Magicians of the world should also know that this place makes the best edible Abramelin Oil on the planet and you can order it from them even if you live in Amsterdam or India. Of course most of the stuff they carry in their store is already from India, so go figure. Anyway, yesterday at Traveler's I was invited by Leon to become an herbalist apprentice and I spent about eight hours copying recipes for obscure incenses and essential oils. He warned that I might have strange dreams tonight, though that doesn't bother me. I told him that I'd be disappointed if I didn't.

So, I'm going back tomorrow and probably Sunday too. I have a lot of work to do while I'm in town if i want to complete my training. Stop by and say hi if you are around. I'd love to visit with friends of mine I haven't seen since the three years I've been away. If you don't see me at Traveler's though, look for me at the mercury tomorrow night or at the CHAC on NYE. If I miss you while I'm in town, give me a call on my temporary mobile number: 424-214-8265. I'll be visiting my Dad in Tacoma until Wednesday night.

Here's the website and address for those of you who would like to find out more about Traveler's wonderful gift ideas and essential oils:

<div>Hey all, I've missed my Seattle friends too much lately and I'm wondering if there are any cool gatherings coming up. I'm planning a trip to come and visit sometime after winter solstice. Are there any parties going on for New Year's? </div>

    </a>
<div>It's been very hard for me these last few months. Ever since Burningman I've felt like total crap. Moving through this deep depression took every ounce of my will and I'm still feeling very sluggish. Silence has been my only respite from the drudgery of the day to day. I've spent so much time by myself lately, it's been very lonely, but also probably healing. I've had a lot of opportunity for quiet reflections.
Things are definitely turning around, although.

It took a bit of time to reestablish myself financially after the burn. September was such a slow month. I had to borrow money and cut my budget to practically nothing just to keep my apartment. I even considered sub-leasing it until I could more easily afford the rent. In the meantime though I've started playing the balance transfer game with low interest introductory rate credit cards. Its been lots of fun creating insurmountable debt. Actually, now that I'm working again, my credit cards will be paid off soon and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to whore out my excellent credit history for a capital raise project I'm starting with my friend Eric Montoya. It's been really fun playing with money and I'm sure that I could geek out some more sharing about how I'm earning 10% on all the business capital I raise for Eric's company, but I think I'll stop for now.

Life's little ups and downs have been kind of steep and sharp for me lately. I had to go into the emergency room last week for a staph infection. Horrible stuff, really it is. I won't go into any details, but needless to say I'm getting better. This minor set back caused me to miss a few days of work, but no one seemed to mind. The marketing department here at UCLA is so chill. Plus, the work they give me is so easy, sometimes I feel guilty that they are paying me so much. Oh well, I should get over it. I definitely deserve a break after the hell I've been through.

Oh yeah, I didn't even mention it, yet. Hmm....I don't know if I even have the energy yet to go into it. Okay, so the brief summary is this: I've discovered a disturbing pattern in my dating habits. I tend to be attracted to women who have been seriously fucked with in their past and as a result they have developed ways of being that keep them from making themselves available to me intimately. This pattern has been extremely frustrating to me and I'm trying to understand if it's just me, or if there are any women in Los Angeles who don't fit this profile. The specific details, of course, are more juicy and entertaining than this little summary, but it actually hurts to think about it any more than that. So, I'll have to share the rest later.

In the meantime, I'm pouring all of my energy into work and I'm becoming financially stable. What could I possibly have to complain about? Desire is a hollow thing anyhow. Once you achieve something, there is always another conquest. Perhaps it's time once more to embark upon the grand experiment of invoking my Holy Guardian Angel? It occurred to me recently that I seem to have subconsciously made all the necessary arrangements. Having tried it before in 2003, while living with my father, the operation proved to be somewhat problematic since he was unsympathetic to my quest. I still managed to succeed with some amazing invocations during that time, but it left me feeling unsatisfied with the results overall. I felt like I barely scratched the surface. More to come...</div>

My birthday is coming up...

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/sno/blog/e12ecd1c-aaf4-47a8-8cc3-84e3b1c3157e"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/11d/b35/11db35d2-ebcd-4722-b52b-7ddec0417a6c.thumb" width="65" height="58" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Over the past several years it seems like I haven't aged much and I'd like to think that part of that is due to the fact that I rarely ever actually celebrate my birthday. Usually it's a practical issue since most people I know who attend Burningman usually are on the road when my Birthday rolls around. Most of my friends celebrate my birthday with me on the playa. This year I'm not going to be at Burningman as early as in years previous and I'd like to invite those of you who are still going to be in town to come to my Birthday Party at my dear friend Courage's home. We will be having a poolside BBQ with hot tubbing and fire dancing, please bring a potluck item to share with everyone.

When: Saturday August 25th, from 6pm until 12pm
Where: 6137 Carpenter Ave.
              North Hollywood, CA 91606

There will be a special treat for those in attendance. I'm going to be showcasing my latest performance art act and can't wait to see the looks on your faces. It's worth it to arrive on the playa a day later too. Come on, what's the rush? Why not spend another day packing and just stay on the playa a day later? We all know that it gets better after all the people go back home. Besides it would be so great to see all my friends. At midnight we'll be going to take our show on the road and perform at another nearby party. Come and join us for a fun night of revelry and mayhem!

Looking forward to seeing you,
