Kind Words

June 25, 2005
snokite, the barbarian librarian....

Someone fun to drum with, dance with, hop and chant around a fire with, and enjoy every moment with. Quite the spiritual earth goddess drummer poly hug machine. A new friend that I seem to have known forever. See ya round the fire!

Snokite is my best friend - all others are number two or lower. It is a priviledge to know her and a joy to be around her, especially since she moved so very far away :(. Ah well, we have the phone, the Internet and even-numbered Pennsics :).

Snokite is a most wonderous and magical person. Her gift of sharing and enlightment will be one I am honored to have had.
Hugs and snuggles forever....Tony

Some of you may be familiar with the metal works of artisan John T. Unger. He made the stunning fire bowl that the Fire Tribe Hawaii uses at their circles.

Right now, he is engaged in a copyright battle over this designs. An imitator is not only ripping off his gorgeous fire bowl designs, but the imitator has launched a legal attack on Unger, to attempt to overturn his original copyrights.

You can read about this terrible situation and learn more on how you can help on John T. Unger's s... read more

about me
Librarian, spayed, in a serious relationship, on the short/ side (but I'm going to be tall when I grow up), responsible, and sane. I'm a Zen Buddhist inclined to practice mindful musical, vocal, movement and service meditation around sacred fires. I don't smoke, get high, drink alcohol, or eat meat, but I don't hold anyone else to that. I drum whenever possible (Middle Eastern, West African, Afro-Caribbean, Brazilian, whatever I can get my hands on…), I'm mechanically inclined, but never got around to learning much about cars. I've built yurts with my own hands. I strive to be practical. I have a varied taste in food, but my stomach is annoyingly picky. I love to eat fresh lilikoi, mangos, grilled portobellos, Indian and Thai food, and dishes featuring too much garlic. I'm more intellectual than emotional, which doesn't stop me from having fun. I often have dirt under my nails and scrapes on my knees. Just give me a hill to climb and a pretty view to gawk at, and I'm kept harmlessly amused. I'm a hippie child (and a child of actual hippies) but a skeptical, down to earth one; sure, I've got dreams of a better world, but they involve hard work and a clear mind. My universe contains very little black and white, but a million shades of gray with large splashes of color. Don't bother asking me my sign. I am not a morning person. I'm an info junkie and a geek. I read nonfiction and science fiction, when I have time. A poor memory and weak imagination conspire to keep me in or around the present moment most of the time. I don't own a TV, but I sometimes play DVDs on my computer. I have a cat. I am fascinated by plants, but struggle to keep mine happy. I'm almost completely out of touch with popular culture. I'm attracted to polymetric rhythms and freaky time signatures. My plate is full, yet I'm always on the lookout for new friends.
