<div>Current mood: creative

This weekend Ann, Melissa and myself decided to go to the De Young Museum to see the beautiful work of Dale Chihuly. Here is the link to the museum's website: http://www.famsf.org/index.asp It's best to reserve time slots, because the spots go quick! We almost weren't able to get a time slot for this weekend. We all had seen his exhibits before, once in Walnut Creek as a small showing and after that in Napa with the pieces being displayed at various wineries. That partiular showing was fabulous :-).

We grabbed a bite to eat at the Ferry building then meandered to the museum. On arrival we noticed that the place was completely packed. I have never seen that many people in a museum before...which is sort of sad when you think about it! We stood in line after recieving our passes for the exhibit. Inside the pieces were beautiful, the colors stunning. I took pictures of course! http://www.flickr.com/photos/snottyspice/sets/72157606268324469/ Finishing up there after seeing other fine pieces of art and artifacts, we headed to Sausilito for some food. It was an exhausting and fabulous day! There was so much to see and do :-). I'm glad that I have a pass to the museum, I can go back and get a better look if I get a chance.

What's up for this upcoming week....my coworker that works in the back office with me will be going on vacation. I will be doing my duties and his as well. That means more time and hours spent at the Masem ranch. My concern is that since I am not medically trained I won't be able to do some of the casting and splinting for the fresh fractures and fresh post op patients. However, I shouldn't let my self doubt and fear get to me....fear is a mind killer....and I know my coworker has faith in my abilities. I'm glad somebody does LOL! He thinks I will be fine, I'm just nervous. I know a good part of the casting, but not some of the technical stuff that he does-that is what worries me. I guess I should really worry about it when I come to it. In the meantime I will just do the best that I can...like I always do. I feel like this is a test. I normally do very well in tests, but this one has me a little scared. Wish me luck!

Have a wonderful week and try to make it out to the museum!!
*cheers!*

The Billy bird update

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/snottyspice/blog/a3ae0048-db5c-4921-ac37-1fc41fd1b3bc"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/c3a/35a/c3a35a82-7f1b-4029-a648-6a3f067f3170.thumb" width="60" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Still checking around. Noone is missing him at the Senior apartments. I put a notice at the Deli...nothing back. Nothing on C.L. It's getting close to the end of the week. Billy bird looks like he will be staying here, which is just as well. Billy bird is finally getting used to me. He is starting to interact a little with me, showing interest in the things that I do at my desk and what I'm eating. Although I haven't seen him actually eat any of the people food I give him, I know he at leasts likes the seed. He's fascinated with the sound of me using the key board (he keeps climbing over to peek at my hands while I type) and he really likes the sound of "clicking" pens. A little strange...but so are lovebirds. When I talk to the other birds he is reacting too, he's even starting to make sounds....noisy birdy sounds :-). He loves the sounds of the finches that live next door and calls to them and calls to my parakeet. He's a funny little guy...I think it's a guy. By next week...he will be settled in and as noisy as everyone else here...and that's noisey :-).
Wierd thing is I keep thinking I hear another bird outside.....maybe it's just the finches. How long was Billy out there I wonder?</div>

    </a>
<div>Hooray....I'm able to post my blog now....Tribe...sometimes not so stable. Well, anywhooo without further ado....presenting:
my blog.

Yet another week come and gone but at least I actually did the things that I set to do. I have been pretty consistant in searching the "Lost" adds for the bird that I found. Still no luck. He/she is all set up and comfortable, if I can't find it's owner then I get to keep it. Ah well, I was thinking about someday getting another bird....but it was going to be AFTER one of my others pass away. I don't want to end up like my mom and the menagerie that she had. Not that it was bad....but it was....just too much in my opinion. I would have to live in a really big house to accomodate what mom wanted to have. Although, I have always wanted to have a home where I could take in unwanted/abused birds (and some other animals) to help rehabilitate and possibly find new homes for. Birds take a lot of work and many people don't know this. One of my favorite jobs was working at a privately owned pet shop where I worked with birds/reptiles/rabbits and taught and helped educate some of the people that came in there for a pet. A few of the kids that came in for a bird I had help with the feeding and cleaning of the cages so they would understand the work involved with having a pet. I would have to say it was a successful tactic. The kids saw that there was more than just "having" the pet but there was "caring" for the pet. I have to say that was very fulfilling for me. Anyway.......back to my weekend.

Worked Saturday....bleh. Had to cause I need the money. Hit the store and bought groceries on the way home. I came home and interacted with the beasts...cause that is what I do. The little lost bird isn't sure what is going on just yet but I imagine it is gonna take some time before he/she settles in. Of course if I find the owners, this won't be a problem after all :-). I'm beginning to think that the owner may be bilingual or just Spanish speaking. I called my cat "Gordo" and I noticed the little bird got really interested. So I threw a couple Spanish phrases that I know at him....more interest. So now when I talk to him I use Spanish and English. I have to be a good hostess and not alienate my guest after all. Yeah, I know...I'm wierd. LOL! Besides goofing with the beasties for my Saturday nite entertainment, I threw on some movies and kicked back.....yeah I am pretty much a couch potato most of the time. Hell, it's cheap! Can't afford to go out anymore LOL!

Got up early Sunday and noodled around the house. I was determined to catch the Hellboy matinee....and that is what I did. Buying tickets online is a nice feature....I think I will use it more often :-). I figured I would kill two birds with one stone. Petsmart is right by the theatre so I could swing by there and see if anyone posted a "lost bird" notice.

Hellboy II....it was great! The elvin prince was kinda hawt. I don't know if it was the looks or the death, doom, gloom and war thing or both. I think it was all....I'm wierd like that. Yeah. Anyhooooo, moving on.... So besides the hawt elvin prince...the movie was just awesome. I loved the visuals and I did like the story line. I picked up some points being made in the movie....I'm wondering how many others may have picked them up as well (destruction referrences), but I imagine that the people that need to pick it up are the ones most likely NOT to. I love the director and I adore his imagry....imagry...sounds like a Bushism. But I did. Just like with Pan's Labrynth...another fan-freak'n-tastic movie. I bought that DVD, it is a sad and beautiful movie....kind of like Hellboy in someways. You would have to ask me in person sometime....I could write a lot on it...but I will spare you. Dark nature. Good vs Evil-but sides switching or just vague...not being sure who is really the "bad guy" and the "good guy". Throw in mythology and lore. Very interesting to me. Yep, very satisfied. I will buy this movie when it comes out. Next up the next Mummy movie and the Dark Knight.

And now my "Duh Moment". I put a slow cooker on this afternoon for dinner. Rice with mushrooms that I will be adding meat and mushroom soup to after it is done. So it had been cooking...or at least I thought it was.....for a couple hours. I went for a walk, goofed off believing that my food was cooking away. I went to go turn it off so I could add the soup and cook the meat. The stupid thing was not even hot. I look over and it appears to be plugged in and it's turned on. I get annoyed and go to move the pot so I can throw it in a pot to cook on the oven....then I notice that the wrong plug was plugged in. FAIL. Arrrggh. I was so annoyed at myself. Stupid cords look alike. Yeah, so I fixed it, but now my dinner is going to be late. Yeah, it was so stupid I had to share.

Another long week....but this weekend I will at least be going to see the Chihuly exhibit with a couple friends...I love his work . Beautiful glass sulptures. I see the carrot at the end of the stick...must try to get the carrot...LOL!

Have a great week! *Cheers!!*

<div>a little lovebird last night. I had gotten home late from work and had changed into my pj's, setteling down to watch "numb3rs" when I hear some noise outside. At first I thought it was one of the birds from one of the Senior living facility being rowdy in the window. Then I looked over and I noticed my cat was "at attention". Benji isn't normally like that with bird calls then I knew that the bird was in distress. I ran to the window and saw a group of the outside cats all circled, playing with something. Then I saw it get away and Chester, an outside cat, plopped on it and was about to put it into his mouth when I stopped him. I stopped him by yelling through my closed window with him a half a block away, all the cats turned and looked at me in the window and then scattered, they know what "No! Get away from that!!" means. I didnt even think and ran outside in my pajamas to retrieve the poor little bird, not certain if it has been injured or not.

I'm wandering around making parakeet noises hoping for a response call when half the neighbors come out to see what all the commotion was. I explained and all of us set about finding this bird.....with our helpful outside kitties tagging along. Poor Chester was following me closely for reassurance because I had yelled at him, I had to stop and pet him (he may have been feral as a kitten but he has adopted me and lets me pet him). He's a good boy, he can't help himself....he is a cat after all.

We all split up and one of my neighbors found the bird in the next block over. We all went there, I grabbed a bell and a cage with food. We spent about an hour and a half trying to corral and catch this little green booger, but the son of one of my neighbors was able to capture him. Then we plopped him into the cage and I took him safely into my apartment.

Now my concerns now are that he is truly non-injured and healthy, and won't give anything to my birds....the apartment is small but despite that, I am still better equiped to take care of him. My cats are used to the other birds I have, but the little green booger is new and "interesting". I just hope they don't find a way to get to the cage while I am stuck at work (where I presently am). My last concern is trying to find the person that had the bird. I have searched Craig's list, and googled and searched listing for lost animals all over the internet. Lots of lost little pets. I know I have heard a lovebird in the neighborhood before, but with people always moving in and out of the senior center across the street and in the tweeker building on the corner, who is to really say. Now if the bird belongs to a tweeker, I will not be too excited about giving it back. That is not a healthy environment for a little bird with delicate lungs.

If I can't find the proper owner then I will certainly keep the little guy...or gal. I love lovebirds :-). I had one for 17 years, he died of old age. His name was Sunshine, but I called him Sunny Bunny. He was absolutely darling and I adored him. I can find the room to take in love another one, if need be. But first I must seek out someone who may be desparately missing him first :-).</div>

    </a>
<div>What can I say? It was a three day weekend! That right there is worth the price of admission :-). Let's see....how did I spend my time?

Friday: I slept. I slept until 8:00. And it was gooooood. I haven't felt so rested in....well months. I guess my work schedule just doesn't allow proper sleep....go figure. Now that I'm thinking about it....what did I do Friday besides sleep in? Oh that's right NOTHING. Except watch Season's 1 and 2 of Foster's Imaginary Friends and Season 1 of Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy. Yeah...I was uber productive. I didn't even bother going to watch fireworks. Didn't care enough to go, still don't to be completely honest. I went to bed early, because I could! :-).

Saturday: Coop's birthday and the Tidal Wave Metal Fest was the order of the day! Slept in till the crack of 8:00....and it was good! Cleaned the house and what not then headed on up to Coop's. We hung out and waited for Brenda and scooted out to the city for the music. We ended up getting there a little late because we decided to eat but the vibe was great. What a nice little park! Met up with the rest of Coop's bestest friends and watched Hirax and Exodus.

Pictures from the day: http://www.flickr.com/photos/snottyspice/sets/72157606008594396/

I met up after the show with a few friends of my own, whom I haven't seen in a while. The Coop crew was ready to leave so we all left to hang out and BBQ. I honestly don't know everyone that I hung out with as long or as well as Coop but it was very pleasant to get to enjoy thier company. When you are around this group you can tell that they all care for each other very much :-). I just sat and enjoyed listening to conversations and stories, throwing in two cents on occasion-I'm not a total antisocial lump. However, like all good things~it came to an end and I went home.

Ah...today: Today was filled so far with uploading pictures and the drinking of coffee. Some more house work and perhaps some baking.....making my plans for the upcoming week come into action.

So, as you know there is a food thief in the office. I have a plan of action.....chocolate chip cookies laced with laxatives. Greedy food stealing bastards....that will give them some bubble guts and hershey squirts. *evil grin* It will serve them right for digging through other people's things and stealing thier food. Operation: Poop Your Pants Pre mixed cookie dough? check Chocolate covered laxatives? check Chopped walnuts for the homemade look? check Saved bag from the cookie place just like the one they stole from my desk? check Looking forward to having them steal these cookies? You betcha.

I had mixed feelings about making the cookies from scratch because I felt that it would be a waste of good home made cookies. But then I found a tub of Toll House cookie dough and figured I could just plop a couple servings in my mixer with the chopped up laxatives. Viola! They will look just like the other cookies. And in the off chance that the cookies aren't stolen....it won't be a real waste cause they are Toll House fer Christ's sake! I guess though that after this I will have to eat a sample of anything else I make to prove that it's not "laced". No problem there :-). Someone had suggested putting bugs and stuff in the cookies......ew. The last thing I want to do is put bugs in my mixer LOL! There are somethings I won't do. Now that..is nasty.

Well, I guess I better get my day started. This upcoming week is going to kill me *sigh* Oh well. Have a great week.

*cheers!*

    </a>
<div>So the other day on BART I was doing my usual people watching when this one young man caught my full attention. Not the kind of attention that you might think...more like my full scrutiny! I usually keep a pretty straight face, but this guy had me. My Gawd...I really wanted to start laughing....but I didn't. His head was the size and shape of a melon. A cantelope more precisely. His hair was very flat. Flat to his head because he had it greased...combed down like a uneven "bowl" cut. He looked like a freakin' catelope with a greasy bad toupee on top. I had to look away after plain staring at him for about two minutes. I had to stare....this was like nothing I had ever seen-and I have see all sorts of things! Next time I'm gonna be rude and just whip out my camera phone. Yeah, it was that good.

Today is Cookie day! Once a week (Wednesdays) Gregory's opens thier door to the public to sell the fine collection of deserts. They normally sell thier deserts the the fru-fu restaurants and delis around the area. The specialty is cookies, cobblers and cheeeeeese cake! Good googalie moogalie! My favorites are butter pecan, oatmeal cranberry pecan, and chocolate chip. The snickerdoodles deserve an honorable mention as does the oatmeal. The cheese cake is pretty good. Gregory does it all from scratch and his own recipe. He is alse a very nice person :-). He and his family/employees all help sell the cookies and goods to a crowd that normally starts forming just before the doors open at 11:00. Ya have to get there quick or everything is gone! Yep, it's that good :-).

Really looking forward to Fair Oaks. I think mostly because I know I wont be at Casa so much this year I am going to really enjoy the fairs I do get to go to. I know some of my friends are happy about this with statements like, "Good! Now you can go with us to &amp;lt;what ever the event is>!" Either way, I am going to get to spend time with friends! It's going to be great :-).

See you at fair and if not have a super weekend!
*cheers!*

    </a>
<div>Well, this week has been pretty busy but not very stressfull....believe it or not. With me taking position as the receptionist/back office assistant/chart prepper extrordinaire...things are running like clock work. Just the way I like it. One of my coworkers commented about how the energy has changed in the office, "No drama or stupid crap" was how she put it. I had to agree, I wasn't feeling irritated by constant "jabbering". I was pretty relaxed actually, I hadn't noticed. Good thing I suppose. Now if we can get the extra pitance of money from the doc...things might be a little easier for us all. I'm trying not to laugh out loud as I type this...it's like working for Scrooge McDuck. :-).

Saturday I had grand plans to go hangout with my friend Ann and her little girl at the zoo. Honestly we were all looking forward to it. After work I get to her house in the Oakland hills and visit for a while. Her husband came back (he had the baby seat in his car) and then we headed out. We chattered about going to the zoo and how great it was going to be. We arrived at said zoo and saw a sign that said, "Zoo closed today at 12:00 pm". We both stared, then we both started laughing. That is so typical of stuff that we both do...plans that don't go as planned :-). Well....on to try to figure out what to do. We drove a little bit looking for a street carnival or something. There was nothing so we headed over to Larksbur for the Marin Brewing Company to grab some food and visit. It was beautiful weather so after lunch we walked around the area. Ann's daughter is fascinated with ducks. We discovered this when she spotted one in the fountain, where she loudly proclaimed (and repeated).."Duck! It's a duck!! Hey duck! Look! Duck!!" All the people sitting outside eating just watched and smiled and laughed. She was really excited. She saw a another duck later and got really excited..again. It was pretty funny. We headed back after some frozen yogurt and visited some more.

When I got home, it was extremely warm inside...not so much outside. It smelled heavily of smoke. I had noticed the fire across the bay blowing in my towns direction. I was hungry for dinner so I busted out my little toaster oven for his maiden run. He worked like a charm! I noticed that a lot of heat eminated from the door that is glass, so I leaned my fire resistant oven mits on it to help keep the heat in. I wanted my tator tots a little crispy so I put them in a little longer, sat on the couch and fell asleep. I woke up and my first thought was OMG!! The tator tots!! Blackened tators flashed in my head..as well as other the possiblity of a ruined toaster oven. Ran to the kitchen and saw the oven was off....it had the timer and it shut it off. My tators were safe, so was my home...man, I didn't think the warmth would make me just "fall out" like that. Note to self....don't sit on the couch if it's warm and I'm using the toaster oven. Argh. Thank goodness for the timer/off feature on the little toaster!

(As I look out my front window now, the bay and hills are obscurred by smoke). This is one reason why I decided to NOT go for my run this morning. I thought deeply breathing smoke would not be such a hot idea. I will go for a walk later, however. Guess I should get moving, have some washing to do, if I hang it up early it might be dry by tonite. I got some house cleaning to do too. I am "oozing with enthusiasm" over this....&amp;lt;sarcasm>. I'd rather park myself in the sun and read. Oh well :-). Maybe later...

Perhaps I will see most of you at Fair Oaks next weekend? Either way, have a fantastic week!
*cheers!*</div>

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/snottyspice/blog/1d6ff9e6-a1d5-4e47-a110-502f7f9fcea1"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/210/f6c/210f6c88-edd1-48b3-acea-d28b7b886bc5.thumb" width="58" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>So I've already mentioned buying a season pass for the Oakland Zoo, a noble and just spending of my money....IMHO. Plan on going back again this weekend and dragging some friends with me. It's gonna be fun, I really like it there :-).

I mentioned before there being some change in the air...so it has occurred. On Monday the new receptionist was relieved of her duties, budget cuts. She was being paid double everyone else-temp agency fees on top of her hourly wage. But they did decide to keep the part time evening receptionist....whew!

With that being said, I know work three positions in the office. I "wear three hats"....it's a good thing my head is big so I can fit them all up there :-). I will be simultaneously be receptionist/charting/prepping during the day....and back office/medical assistant in the evening. Huh..reading that makes me sound like a "super hero"......r-i-g-h-t. LOL! So I get to work super early, work my shift(s) and stay late...cause that's part of my shift. It seems that the last couple evening clinics I have been staying a lot longer than normal. Or maybe it's just that I get home from work so late it just seems like a longer shift. I dunno, it is what it is.

I have done my research and decided to purchase the toaster oven. A nice little Black and Decker. I read the reviews and realized that one will either have unrealistic expectations on a product (think it is going to work like a real sized oven....NO) or they have had mediocre products in the past and this exceeded what they have had. I know how toaster ovens can be, I grew up with one...don't expect too much....it toasts! That and it will get my damn tater tots crispy!! Mmmmm. Taters:-). I tried finding energy star ratings...I guess they don't have them, or if they do the oven is past my price range. Ah well, it's not like I will use it all the time anyway. Just enough to get my money's worth.

Well, that's about it. Hopefully Tribe won't give me grief while I'm trying to post this....what the hell is up with Tribe anyway? They must be configuring new programs or "something". Either way, I hope they figure and work it out soon....I might actually have to work at my job. Can you imagine!?.....*smile*

*cheers!*</div>

<div>BELIEVE it or not ,
my coworker sent me an email of this nonsense. Some people should be allowed around phones unsupervised!

Dispatcher : 9-1-1 What is your emergency?
Caller: I heard what sounded like gunshots coming from the brown house on the corner.
Dispatcher: Do you have an address?
Caller: No, I have on a blouse and slacks, why?

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is your emergency?
Caller : Someone broke into my house and took a bite out of my ham and cheese sandwich .
Dispatcher : Excuse me?
Caller : I made a ham and cheese sandwich and left it on the kitchen table and when I came back from the bathroom, someone had taken a bite out of it.
Dispatcher : Was anything else taken?
Caller : No, but this has happened to me before and I'm sick and tired of it!

Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What is the nature of your emergency?
Caller: I'm trying to reach nine eleven but my phone doesn't have an eleven on it.
Dispatcher: This is nine eleven.
Caller: I thought you just said it was nine-one-one
Dispatcher: Yes, ma'am nine-one-one and nine-eleven are the same thing.
Caller: Honey, I may be old, but I'm not stupid.

My Personal Favourite!!!
Dispatcher: 9-1-1 What's the nature of your emergency?
Caller: My wife is pregnant and her contractions are only two minutes apart
Dispatcher: Is this her first child?
Caller: No, you idiot! This is her husband!

And the winner is..........

Dispatcher: 9-1-1
Caller: Yeah, I'm having trouble breathing. I'm all out of breath. Darn....I think I'm going to pass out.
Dispatcher: Sir, where are you calling from?
Caller: I'm at a pay phone. North and Foster.
Dispatcher: ! Sir, an ambulance is on the way. Are you an asthmatic?
Caller: No
Dispatcher: What were you doing before you started having trouble breathing?
Caller: Running from the Police

    </a>
<div>The week didn't bring me much promise....only that I would be schlepping throug each work day until I finally get a day off. Well, fortunately I was able to make the best of my mundane work and also get to spend time with Kitty and see her new home...with the inclusion of Dani and Ken of course :-).
Saturday morning clinic was.....very long but at least it wasn't trying! Left work and headed straight to the store for fooood. Did stuff that I needed to do then headed back to Oak-town to see the new digs of Kitty. A lovely home for a gracious hostess. Got to hang out with her wonderful cats Max and Gabrielle, which are too cute. Dani showed up and we spent the evening having snaks and good conversation.
Sunday came around and we just all layed about trying to decide what to do. Ranging from coffee with cinnamon bread to port wine and black cherries....our morning and noon was spent discussing many things. The one thing we couldn't decide was if it was the Pirate fair we were going to go to or the zoo. The zoo won the vote, so this is where we went.
The Oakland Zoo may be small but it has a great set up. I like it enough that I bought a season pass, why not? It's supports the zoo and gives me perks...win/win. If anyone wants to go to the zoo with me, let me know cause I will have one pass with my membership...just so ya know. I enjoyed my time spent wandering around with everyone, snapping pictures of course!
Here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/snottyspice/sets/72157605633619480/
Of course this meant that we would miss the Pirate festival that I had originally planned on going to. I know I missed getting to see everyone that was there....but I know I will see many of you at Fair Oaks, so I will take solice in that. That and I will get to see all the pictures. I hope it was as fun as I thought it would be...not that I didn't enjoy myself....but I know that no matter which activity I chose today...it would have been a good time.
Well, it's getting late and I have to repeat all the crap from last week....and I know that this week some changes may be made. It's going to be "wierd". We will see how it goes. I hope the right choice is being made. Who is to say, only time will tell.
Have a great week

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/snottyspice/blog/27eb8511-3ab5-40d8-bac8-4ec23536121d"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/359/112/35911277-c590-43da-8d40-ac999ba96b63.thumb" width="58" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Or something like that. You know you must be tired when you sleep through your alarm and are awaken by the phone after sleeping almost ten hours. Yep, that would be me. I must have really need the extra zzzz's. After waking up, I had a splitting sinus headache...no real surprise there since I slept the all the windows wide open for cool air. Since I woke up so late, I decided to notify my job that...I won't be coming in today. I was pretty caught up with just a couple things to do for tomorrow. No worries. I'm still tired truthfully. I didn't bother going for my usual "day off" walk...don't feel like it. That and well the "allergy" thing. My eyes only sort of itch inside and it is kind of warm outside. And I am feeling kinda lazy.

I've been feeling a little lazy all week. Haven't even bothered with my usual "after fair" blog. I think the pictures I posted say a little more than I can...after all~a picture is worth a thousand words :-).

I planned that since I was home I should go do my laundy. Then I started thinking about driving to Rodeo....using gas. Gas is expensive. It will cost more money to drive my car to the laundry mat than it would to actually do the laundry. This is not cost effective in my opinion. So I will do my easy stuff in my bathtub!! I've done it before when I'm in a pinch. I'm fine with that. It saves money with laundry mat AND Gas....it's a win win. Ohh! And I will get a work out with all the scrubbing and washing stuff in the tub! Win. Maybe it will wake me up too.
Washing clothes by hand is not that bad. I go through the same stages as the washing maching would...except of course the spin cycle He he. The only draw back is that the clothes take longer to dry, especially the jeans. Oh well, I know they are nice and clean and they have that "hung out to dry" smell *love it!* With these changing times...ya got flow with it. Ya know what I mean...Jelly bean?

On to other cost effective/money saving things...
With the understanding that natural gas prices are going up, I have decided that it would probably be a good idea to purchase a nice toaster oven. I have a big stove that is good for baking large things and large quantities but there is only me. The oven takes a while to heat up for just a single portion of tater tots and chiknless nuggets and the occasional corndog and personal pizza. I would feel better if I had a small oven that was the right size for my personal serving. It will save money in the long run AND it won't get my kitchen really hot when I want my tater tots *I can live off them!*

Other news...
There are a couple small apartments for rent in my building. It makes me nervous because I don't know what kind of people are going to move in. Will they be tweakers/thieves? Will they be fighting all the time? Will they have screaming children? Are they going to keep me up at all hours of the night doing goodness knows what? Are they going to be abusive to the cats that have adopted the apartment building? Are they going to be just plain ole assholes? Jeeze, I hope not. The building is nice and quiet with really mellow people living here. I like that. Of course there is the occasional moments of the "partay!" but that's no biggie. I just don't want the "Jerry Springer poster family" moving into the building, that's all. I will hope for the best :-).

Yeah, that's all I have right now. Just trying to wake myself up some more before I go wash some clothes and maybe make some dinner. I see going to bed early will be in my future tonite.

Enjoy the rest of your week and I'll see ya at the Pirate festival (Sunday only, most likely)
*cheers!*

<div>Riding on BART....a social experiment....that's kind of gone "wrong".
Listening to my iPod...and exercise of self control, not singing along with the music. God, I love doing that....scarioke anyone? Could you imagine the faces of all the people when some one just bursts into song...probably something heavy? I swear....one of these days.....*evil grin*

Who put a damn pink flamingo on the side of the free way...like a lawn ornament? I like it. :-).

I think it's a bummer that the Dethklok show was cancelled because of the fire. I can't help but to picture some hooded Dethklok employee stuck to a breaker box all burnt to bits.....I said I can't help it!! Maybe this delays will give me an opportunity to see them when they come back! Looking for a good thing :-).

Pulled my tarot this morning.....a reversed Tower and a reversed Devil. Huh. Watching the news while reflecting on these cards....yeah, I can see this being true. I will remain neutral and not make waves....hopefully. I pulled a card for the attitude I should take...the Empress...same as yesterday. I can do this :-).

Back to work....have to be ready for when the proverbial shit hits the fan.
Have an awesome weekend everyone....
and try to be careful, it's in the cards ;-).</div>

    </a>
<div>Finally have a chance to post anything. To keep the whole thing simple I will break my little blog up:

Got a late start leaving for fair Friday nite thanks to a co-worker. Despite this, I was determined to make it up to Tahoe before the check in closed. Filling up my tires before the long drive, I noticed I had some seriously balding tires. I had a hard time deciding if I should take the risk, not knowing how the tires would hold out. Obviously, I decided to take the chance! Taking this Wednesday off to buy new tires.

The traffice was really good. Drove 70mph on average. The drive was peaceful and uneventful....and I didn't have a blow out with my balding tires :-).

Arrived to fair just a tad stressed, but that is mostly what I carry around with me all the time I've noticed. I don't quite know how to shake it, but I am working through it...my problem. I don't know if other people notice me being "uptight" or "tense" or just a bit "off", don't take it personally or anything...sometimes stuff is just hard to shake off. It is going to take more than just a weekend to relax let go of all the baloney. Sadly. I'll figure something out eventually.

Valhalla was wonderful and I enjoyed being there with everyone. Despite there being no "rehearsal", the parades went off well. No complaints.....seriously (jeez, I might make sqwuaky noises about work-but that's about it)!

Saw many wonderful peeps. I was even happy to see the famiar faces of the people I don't know personally. I know that seems a little wierd, but they are familiar to me, they are connected to something that means a lot to me-fair :-)! I guess it's a comfort connection type of thing, I suppose some might know what I mean.

Running into friends while wandering, I found out that more than I thought read my blog. I am flattered....and a little wierded out. I suppose because I can't quite imagine myself being that interesting LOL!
However I noticed that some people acted just a tad different with me. I don't know if it's because of some of the more honest personal things that I have posted (mostly someplace else) and it's just unnerving and/or too close to home for them OR they just aren't sure how to approach or interact with me for what ever reason. Truth can be scary sometimes....but I'm not...I'm just frustrating and confusing....LOL!!

Writen words hold more power than I realized. Spoken words as well, but it's not necessarily the words you use but the tune you sing them in....so to "speak".

Despite the mixed interactions I recieved from some people, I was still delighted in seeing everyone and look forward to visiting with everyone again :-).

Wandered around a lot and took tons of photos. Even wandered across the street from the fair and checked out the camp ground over there. They were pretty darn nice, I think I might like to camp there someday perhaps when I have more time available. The camp ground isn't going anywhere any time soon....

Before I hit the long road home, Cory offered to crack my back like Dani's....he started to and it ended up cracking my neck instead. It sounded like someone snapped a big stalk of celery in half....scared the crap out of me at first. Then I realized that my neck...didn't hurt. As a matter of fact, my neck started feeling much better to the point of "pain free" on the drive home. I guess it really needed some realignment. My neck doesn't hurt anymore, however it's made me realize just how much the rest of me hurts....Oh well. Old "battle wounds" and what-not that are bound to hurt with age but hey, at least my neck feels great! Ain't complaining there :-)! Hooray for no "crunchy" neck!

Enough random malarky...guess I should get ready for bed now. Have to get up early to get new tires and some laundry...and pay my regristration....and a couple other things. At least I was able to get Wednesday off....good thing :-).

See everyone at fair this weekend!
*Cheers!*

ps~O.K....maybe I lied. The blog isn't so little after all :-).</div>

<div>As you know, I have been submitting resumes for the last couple weeks. I haven't heard anything back yet, but then it's not urgent since I am already employeed. I also know that even though there are jobs...there are also people such as myself looking for a job closer to home to save money on the ever rising price of transportation.
Now my question is: Should I be honest an divulge that is my purpose?
Should I make a white lie and state that although I am "happy" at my current job, I seek employment closer to home to cut back costs of transportation...or something like that. Leaving out the working for 6 days a week and no one never ever getting a raise.
I want to know what you think about this. Picture yourself as an employer...would you want that type of honesty? I feel my cover letter is lacking....or it's might just be that I feel that it is hollow, lacking the truth....I want to escape this job that is sand paper on my very soul. Hey!....maybe I should put that on the cover letter! I'm sure that would grab attention LOL!</div>

Enough of the serious stuff...a blog by a great procrastinator (x-post)

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/snottyspice/blog/eb6aa3dd-0193-4eb2-bbfd-d5cceec0fb49"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/766/9f4/7669f45a-c338-46e7-9175-0e5b72b2845a.thumb" width="65" height="46" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Well, so far today I have mangaged to do nothing other than feed myself, take a shower and post a blog (or two). Hooray for under achievement. I wear that crown well. So, I haven't even gone outside for a walk. Haven't felt like it. It's sort of cold. Missed the Memorial day parade and big band playing swing down at the Museum. I'm a little dissapointed about that. I just couldn't manage to get my ass outside.

So what have I accomplished? Well....passing on a friends birthday dinner due to swollen eye and massive headache. I think the alien tracking implant must have been acting up...that's all I can figure. I took a picture as evidence and sent it to my friend so she knew I wasn't just B.S.ing her to get out of going...I do flake sometimes but this time wasn't one of them. Cleaned my house....woo I know how to live! And I cut 9 inches of my hair off. It still goes down my back but it now just goes to the small of my back intead of past my butt. It all started when I got...I don't know what...pine tree tar...in my hair and I had to cut it out. Well, obviously I had to even the rest out. Ended up chopping it instead. I do like it though, it looks better-in my opinion-it looks a little fluffier.

Let's see and what else....Oh! I posted another blog that probably disturbed some people. Well, I'm a little disturbed...that's what I do I suppose. Disturb others. Well, it was honest anyway. I just gotta get stuff out and off my chest sometimes. I feel better some how after I do it. I can't say that about friends that read it...they might feel foreboding. No worries :-). If I were to do something terrible....I wouldn't be talking about it and none of you would ever know. I guess that probably wouldn't make any of you feel better...LOL! At any rate..(hear this in a New York accent): Don't worry about it. ~ Bipolar I'm not. Sometimes I just have to get the serious stuff out so I can get on with other mental pursuits...such as a "lighter" blog.

Looking forward to going up to Tahoe for the first fair of season: Valhalla! I am so happy about it. I can hardly wait to see everyone and "do some fair" :-). Yay! Now if only my stupid stimulus check would get here then I would have some damn gas money!

Well crap. I really do need to go out side. I mean seriously. At least the sun is shining now...still cold as hell though.

<div>A friend sent this to me, it's pretty funny :-).

Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.

2. Mostly to clean the house.

3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.

What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.

2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you Your mother &amp; not some other mom?
1. We're related.

2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people's moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?

What did Mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.

3. Does he make at least $800 a year? Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your Mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom eats a lot.

2. She got too old to do anything else with him.

3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

Who's the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn't want to be boss, but she has to because dad's such a goof ball.

2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection. She sees the stuff under the bed.

3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has a lot more to do than dad.

What's the difference between Moms &amp; dads?

2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.

3. Dads are taller &amp; stronger, but Moms have all the real power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep over at your friend's.

4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your Mom do in her spare time?

2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your Mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.

2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean. I'd get rid of that.

2. I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my sister who did it and not me.

3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes on the back of her head.

One morning the husband returns after several hours of fishing and decides to take a nap. Although not familiar with the lake, the wife decides to take the boat out. She motors out a short distance, anchors, and reads her book.
Along comes a Game Warden in his boat.

He pulls up alongside the woman and says, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"

"Reading a book," she replies, (thinking, "Isn't that obvious?")

"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her.

"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading."

"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."
"For reading a book," she replies,

"You're in a Restricted Fishing Area," he informs her again,

"I'm sorry, officer, but I'm not fishing. I'm reading."

"Yes, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment. I'll have to take you in and write you up."

"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with sexual assault," says the woman?

"But I haven't even touched you," says the game warden.

"That's true, but you have all the equipment. For all I know you could start at any moment."

"Have a nice day ma'am," and he left.

<div>Have to say that I managed yet another week of having my last nerve tested...I wonder if the warranty will hold out? I have been sending out resumes to jobs that grab my interest. Honestly I have been submitting to things that are a little different, ie not medical. I thought about it and I would really like to work for a beverage distributing company...hell, even a sales rep. I know my alcohol in relations to businesses, yeah it sounds bad but I do! I have been checking Craig's List religiously. Went onto the County Site to see any jobs that might be interesting, there are but I would need to go back to school and finish my f*%@ degree. Yeah....like I can afford that right now. Sometimes I get really pissed off at myself for the crap that I pull to sabatoge myself. If I was another person...I would sock myself in the head out of frustration. Ugh.
Moving on....

Left work early on Friday, the Doc was out of town and there weren't any patients. I had no desire to be there so I cut out early. It is a very good thing I did because I get home and discover there is even less parking around my house than usual. I get to my stoop and my neighbor pops out and mentions that Greenday is playing at the bar around the corner. "Are you shitting me?" was my response. Sure enough there was a huge line and a plethora of police officers to keep these people in order. Well, I'll be damned. I had no aspirations to go into a very TINY bar and have people rub thier sweat on me....no. Concert in the crowd, sure....bar, not so much. So my neighbors and i sat on the stoop, drank beer, chatted and watched the crowds and cops. It was a very pleasant evening.

Saturday was the town wide yard sale....*excited for crap and a bargain!* There weren't as many people selling stuff this year, but that's alright because I had my mind set on either a microwave OR a toaster oven. Walked up to the fire house to see if someone had donated one for the fundraiser. Walked up and saw one guy that I recognized but there was a young man that I didn't recognize. He looked at me and you could almost here, "Boiy-oiy-oiy-oing". I'm not sure if he needed glasses or not the way he looked at me. It was almost comical...but I didn't laugh. I probably had a funny look on my face...hopefully it wasn't the same as his..with the "boinging" . It was funny, I guess you just had to be there. They didn't have a microwave but offered to sell one of their extra ones in the break room..they were joking..I had to decline stating they would be murdered by thier fellow firemen. They agreed and pointed me in the direction of another yard that might have a microwave.

Stopped by the mentioned yard, it was a convection oven for 10 bucks. Nice, but not what I'm looking for. They kept trying to get me to buy the kitchen chopping block....I'm thinking it's because that's what they used to chop up a body and they want that piece of evidence out of their house :-). So, I walked through town. People were scurrying around like ants on hot asphalt...so busy with so much to see. I stopped in the shade for a while and just relaxed and took in the scene. It was warm, the air smelled sweet with flowers, the breeze was cool and gentle and it was peaceful. After a while of soaking up serenity I headed for my regular walking route. I figured there might be something on that route. I was correct. As I headed towards C&amp;H, I spied my prize! It was all white and shiney, sitting on a frail stand that threatened to fall over from a hard look. There was an older couple observing me and my not so hidden delight, "How much do you want to offer?" I looked down and mentioned that it was marked $15. (15 dollah..make me hollah!!) They looked surprised that I didn't haggle with them. A freak'n microwave for fifteen dollars? C'mon! You can't beat that price except if it was for free!! I told them I wanted it and headed to the ATM. Came back to purchase it and watched them haggling with another customer. It was a delight to observe. The lady offered me a ride home with the microwave....now that is worth $15!

She and her husband moved from Martinez to Crockett but they were originally from "the midwest". She didn't have the Wisconsin accent, which I am familiar with since my boss is from there as well as the doctor that shares the floor with our office. I'm guess maybe away from the lakes. We chatted and we introduced ourselves. It was nice sharing pleasantries, something that seems to be lost most places one goes. I like living in a small town.

On that note, I have already gone for my run, need to finish my coffee and go to the dreaded laundry mat. Oh yeah, I uploaded some more pictures of nothing imparticular, check them out if you like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/snottyspice/
Hope everyone had a good weekend...and have an awesome week!

*cheers!*</div>
