Conversations on 9/11 and Hope
Thu, September 14, 2006 - 10:59 PM<<<<<<<<<<I know you're all socially aware folk. I just want to voice to
someone my concerns around this 5 year anniversary of 9/11. It's a
time of reflection to be sure. But I believe most of this countries
reflection is sorely misguided. Grieving is good, but we grieve
without purpose. We do not face the annihilation of the shadow. We
(when I say we I'm saying the the cultural body of U.S.A.) do not
touch and breathe the negativa and sit in the darkness till it reveals
a truth, a lesson. Everything we do in the name of this facist state
is an addiction, an affliction of the mind ever pushing us further
from our humanity and our abilities to forgive and evolve for a Global
community.
It's very clear to me that this was an inside job by the coporateist
neo-cons to elicit a global war on terror(read David R Griffin "The
New Pearl Harbor"). And they got it, and everything else since then is
killing the life of this planet at an exponentially increased rate.
Until we can embrace the historical and mythical roots of this tragedy
it's power as a catalyst for culutral change will always be, as Jeremy
Taylor often said, "Mistaken Literalism." It's power for real change,
heart change, paradigm change, community change, war change, will go
missed, and all life will pay the price.
This event was a symbol of the ultimate point of over masculination
and control of the planet. It's more than a few powerful wealty white
men, it's a system, a feeling, a way of being, that we must let die
off before we die with it.
This country is not a democracy and it needs radical spiritual
warriors/artists to live a new being right now!
There's my banter, thanks for sitting through it, if you did. Feel
completely free to respond, because even authentic discourse is rarely heard here anymore.
<<<<<<<<Astro - thank you for opening up the topic...i am not sure how much i
have to say about it..but as i have been living abroad for over a year
now and was in paris for the last two "uprisings"..i can comment that
its true ..its not just a few white old guys - its something that has
creeped its way into our daily lives - our thoughts - reactions - our
relationships..and furthermore it can be subtle and difficult to
recognize - but then it can be blantly clear..like the young white
french police pulling aside and questioning every darkskinned young
man who gets off the metro...its sickening to me here in france that
their national motto is liberty equality fraternity- when tunisans and
algerians (to name a few) have been living for generations in france
as french citizens - or recently moved here for hopes of a better
life- are clearly treated and seen as second class if not third or
fourth.. and i know the story in the us..its no different...its a
global problem as you have suggested...its a global suffering- a
nightmare that needs working- if we are to wake up and create a life -
a sustainable life for today for tommorow and for all the
tommorows...the children the animals the sea!! the trees...
its terrible to be victims
(how)? WE can be stop becoming victims and become creators of harmony!
i would love to hear responses of how you do this in your life....
i would like to share two images of paintings i did last year
regarding these issues..so if they are not attached here i will send
another message
love and light

Thanks for telling me about your experience. It helps to hear a broader perspective on the affairs of other countries and the world from those that live there even if it isn't good news. It's still a shairing.
As for what I do for harmony...I'm not very clear on it. I'm sure there's quite a bit and then there's nothing at all.
A hopeful disposition seems to help, and a consitent practice is probably the best maintenance of that though I'm weak in that department. What seems to keep me in hope lately is a dedicated search and step by step action to reveal what my purpose in the greater healing is. Though I may never truely be able to name what that is, the path in searching for it is what helps me to evolve and engage others in an evolution of their dreams.
Art is evolution and you are an artist. And art intented to engage social criticism or consciousness is what turns me on lately. And there's always presence. Seperation from life seems to be possibly the greatest form of violence and the media and political and corporate apperatus is doing every thing it can every moment to keep us from being present.
Practically I'm meating with people and builiding community around dancing and dance music that educates and or motivates for social change. We've got a space in Alameda for throwing parties and I'm beginning to talk with some well known dj's and producers about focusing our collective intentions on how dance culture can impact a global shif to harmany and balance.
I'm producing a lot of tracks in this vein. A couple are on myspace: www.myspace.com/sonicbridges
Enough for now, stay connected, get me those paintings, I'm inspired by your work,
peace love blessings for a revolution of the heart,
astro
