Its about time

You would think, with all the time I spend cavorting about the internet I would have my own website. Well I finally have it mostly together, in one place. My business website is up, at least part of it :) With more on the way!! And my personal site is not too far behind.

I feel relieved to finally have drawn all the bits together into a cohesive pile.

And to top it off, I just mixed up what I hope will be a great batch of peach and almond wine. :)

AHGGGGGG

To top off my wonderful week, someone broke into my car tonight!! I am losing it. They went through the glove box, took the owner's manual for the car, and took my kids' raincoats. I am not sure what else was in the glove box. They didn't touch my tags, and I don't think they took any past registrations (the most recent one is there). The title wasn't in the car. It just creeps me out.

What will they do with the information they got? I am just on edge now.

What A Miserable Freakin' Day!

I have had it, the universe can stick it for all I care at this point. My weekend was pretty shot. I had plans to do some fun stuff with the kids Sat. afternoon. When I got home from work, they had given one another bloddy noses. We got things settled, and decided we would just do the go out to dinner part of the plan, and had a pretty nice dinner. The entree was really disappointing, but oh well. We went early to beat the rush, and the storms. Then a friend called needing help with their computer. So they brought it over, and hung out uncomfortably on the couch for about 6 hours. They finally left, realizing the problem was not going to be fixed so quickly.

I slept in on Sun. and when I awoke, the DH and I planned to have a pretty easy going, lazy day. We did some worksheets with the kids, read our family store and then all unanimously voted for some video game time. Then my grandma called to ask for some computer help since they were in town. That took 3 hours, and then my mom called to have us over for dinner because my brother needed some computer help. And we still ended up bringing my brother's pc home.

DH and I stayed up late, to get some video game time in with our friends (we play a MMORPG). We finally turned in around midnight. At 1 am I woke up with a bug in my ear!! The horrendous and extremely painful ordeal got me home today around 2. I guess I shouldn't have even gone to the ER, as they did some damage to my eardrum and my ear canal. My general practioner just looked in my ear, and reached in a pulled it out and gave me a scrip for some numbing/anti-bacterial ear drops. This was after the hours of intense pain and screaming and crying at the ER. They never did get it out, I eventually just told them to stop, I was leaving, I couldn't take it anymore.

My husband and kids were up with me all night, freaked out. And so the day has been out of kilter. For what work DH went to (his assistant is on vacation, so he has the department to himself), it was not a good day, and then he had to get some sleep. And to top it all off, we have had this beautiful rain, which I love, and I wanted to be out in. But now I can't go out and play in it, because of my darn ear. And while we were out driving in it, the blower on the car went out again!! It just spontaneously decided to stop on the way home from the ER this am, and then just started working again this evening.

At least I have the nice weather to keep my spirits up.

Jung Typology

In the last week or so I have become immersed in my study of astology again. Don't remember how I got there, but that's the way it goes. Staying up till the sun peeks in through my porch window, and I go out to great the sunrise before getting some sleep, definately translates to getting something in my head. :)

I have been researching the occurence of the magickal personality and the manner of magical thought. Most people with a NT and NF type end up in a magickal lifestyle of one sort or another, while SP and SJ types don't think of the idea of spiritual and personal growth as a need, and sometimes even think of people who pursue these things as a little out of whack.

So, in the modern day effort of instant gratification and online quizes, I looked up a couple of personality tests based on the Jung- Myers-Briggs typology. Neat stuff :)

www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

I took this one and recieved this as my result:

The Portrait of the FieldMarshal Rational (eNTj)

Copyrighted ? 1996-2004 Prometheus Nemesis Book Company
Of the four aspects of strategic analysis and definition, it is marshalling or situational organizing role that reaches the highest development in Fieldmarshals. As this kind of role is practiced some contingency organizing is necessary, so that the second suit of the Fieldmarshal's intellect is devising contingency plans. Structural and functional engineering, though practiced in some degree in the course of organizational operations, tend to be not nearly as well developed and are soon outstripped by the rapidly growing skills in organizing. But it must be said that any kind of strategic exercize tends to bring added strength to engineering as well as organizing skills.

As the organizing capabilities the Fieldmarshal increase so does their desire to let others know about whatever has come of their organizational efforts. So they tend to take up a directive role in their social exchanges. On the other hand they have less and less desire, if they ever had any, to inform others.

Hardly more than two percent of the total population, the Fieldmarshals are bound to lead others, and from an early age they can be observed taking command of groups. In some cases, Fieldmarshals simply find themselves in charge of groups, and are mystified as to how this happened. But the reason is that Fieldmarshals have a strong natural urge to give structure and direction wherever they are -- to harness people in the field and to direct them to achieve distant goals. They resemble Supervisors in their tendency to establish plans for a task, enterprise, or organization, but Fieldmarshals search more for policy and goals than for regulations and procedures.

They cannot not build organizations, and cannot not push to implement their goals. When in charge of an organization, whether in the military, business, education, or government, Fieldmarshals more than any other type desire (and generally have the ability) to visualize where the organization is going, and they seem able to communicate that vision to others. Their organizational and coordinating skills tends to be highly developed, which means that they are likely to be good at systematizing, ordering priorities, generalizing, summarizing, at marshalling evidence, and at demonstrating their ideas. Their ability to organize, however, may be more highly developed than their ability to analyze, and the Fieldmarshal leader may need to turn to an Inventor or Architect to provide this kind of input.

Fieldmarshals will usually rise to positions of responsibility and enjoy being executives. They are tireless in their devotion to their jobs and can easily block out other areas of life for the sake of their work. Superb administrators in any field -- medicine, law, business, education, government, the military -- Fieldmarshals organize their units into smooth-functioning systems, planning in advance, keeping both short-term and long-range objectives well in mind. For the Fieldmarshals, there must always be a goal-directed reason for doing anything, and people's feelings usually are not sufficient reason. They prefer decisions to be based on impersonal data, want to work from well thought-out plans, like to use engineered operations -- and they expect others to follow suit. They are ever intent on reducing bureaucratic red tape, task redundancy, and aimless confusion in the workplace, and they are willing to dismiss employees who cannot get with the program and increase their efficiency. Although Fieldmarshals are tolerant of established procedures, they can and will abandon any procedure when it can be shown to be ineffective in accomplishing its goal. Fieldmarshals root out and reject ineffectiveness and inefficiency, and are impatient with repetition of error.

A better day

Thank you everyone for your thoughts on crapola day from last week. It did make me smile to see people that care/d.

Today has been a much better day, our car was fixed, and it was under warranty, so it was cheap! It rained in the morning and cooled things off, I played with my puppy in the rain and got totally covered in mud and grass. I found a new stang in the wood pile, and got the new blade in the circular saw finally to cut it from it's branch. I found a new program to play with, yeah for Flash! :) And my sweet boys helped me scrub the floors this morning.

It occurs to me that the full moon is only two days away now, and it is a lot closer than the ick of Mercury, so hopefully we will have a grace period of repose until it passes into the first crescent on Sunday.

I'm having a day

I'm having a day where I am finding it hard to be inspired, hard to concentrate on my work, and hard to maintain my faith that people are generally good.

I'm left wondering why people need to be exclusionary. Why do they think it will benefit them to remove extra heads, thoughts and ideas? It just doesn't make any sense to me to play that game. I don't understand why people can't take the time to offer a smile, or a hug, or even a friendly email once in a while. I don't understand the point of putting up fences to those outside of you.

Maybe I am too optimistic, I don't know. But when your faith in the goodness of the heart of a person is just dashed to bits, I guess it can make it a rough day.

Today I am Free :)

Once a quarter my sweet beau leaves for a week to go on a long business trip. This morning was the start of another one. When this first started, years ago it always was a stressful week. Having to take care of things without his help, finding sitters so I could work, and worrying about him logging about 6 hours on the road everyday.

But, in a life-wide effort to be more positive, I have come to realize that our week of freedom really is a great opportunity for us. It isn't much but a subtle change in the freedom from one another's schedules, but it is very refreshing. With each other we are definately stronger, providing support and picking up the slack for one another. One the other hand, the freedom of not having to check in with each other about what happens next is also nice.

So in the spirit of being positive, I am cuddling my puppy in the house, and playing some of my favorite metal. :)

Progress

Well, I made a lot of progress in my time in the sewing room. I discovered two brown recluse spiders also! Dern things must have come in en masse with the new furniture as eggs. Otherwise my sweet wolf and jumping spiders would have eaten them. I got the ones I found all good and squished, but I am sure there are more. Time for a little Demon XP, and the task of repopulating the good spider population in the house.

I did manage to get all of my faire booth cleaned and repacked for the next show. Running low on some stock though, so need to place orders. I got my dance makeup into the same cabinet with my jewelry. And I got several other boxes condensed into my new boxes, which fit two high long ways into my cabinets. It is not done, but it is a lot closer.
