The village was created in 2001 to offer a relatively quiet area for people who do not want to camp way out in the boonies. Keep in mind that "relative" is the key word. We are still located in the heart of the city, usually only a couple blocks from Center Camp. It would be foolish to assume that we would be immune to all ambient noise, but at least we do have the satisfaction of knowing there won't be generators running right outside our tents.
