</a>
							<div>I was honored to perform at this year's Tribeca Ball, an annual fundraiser for the New York Academy of Art, Feb. 11, 2008. This is a fun shot from the end of the night showing myself, the fabulous Johnny Fox and a lovely young lady who played the claviola whose name has unfortunately slipped my mind.
This was an amazing event at which I performed several different functions...strolling artist with contact ball, stage sets with hoops...and- a first for me- model for an
auction. This year the event was held at the school itself and much of it took place among the studios of the incredibly talented graduate-level artists who study there.

The auction was for the set of Piaget jewelry I'm wearing in this shot. Valued at $100,000 (!), I donned this earring and necklace set that Parker Posey had been wearing all night and proceeded to wander throughout the wealthy socialite crowd showing it off in the hopes that it would garner a high bid to raise money for the school. Talk about surreal! Here I am wearing this ensemble that is worth many times my net, being beckoned "Spiral, Spiral" hither and yon all over this lavish dining area, to model for, banter with and smile at, all these figures in the art and social scene of NYC...with the auditory backdrop of an auctioneer.

    </a>
							<div>Exhaustion!!
This was taken after my most epic (solo, of course) road-warrior mission of the summer. There were the two 10-ish hour days in a row from the playa to Salt Lake City to Denver...those weren't nuthin!
When I got word coming out of the dust that I had a juicy gig back in NC Sept 5-6 I knew it was gonna be tight. With a sweetie in Denver I wanted to get as much time with as possible with before we parted ways for the entire winter (yucky) and as potentially delusional as such matters of the heart can make you, I decided I could stick around with him till 10am on the 4th. HAh!
What you say? 'That's crazy!' No doubt! I didn't realize quite how crazy until a little ways in and after a couple bouts of road construction and traffic cut drastically into any possible rest time.
I drove 28+ hours with about an hour.5 nap, obscene amounts of caffeine and much head-shaking to try and wake up. Went *straight* into a posh hotel parking lot, ransacking my dust-filled van for all the elements of this costume, throwing it on and going directly onto the floor to welcome folks for 3 hours of ambient performance. Thank goddess there was no stage time!
After it was all said and done, I went upstairs to have a much-needed beer with my good buddies Hardin and Steve and H took this shot.
Whew!
Aside from my first speeding ticket ever, I feel lucky to have gotten there alive. Guardian angels in full effect.</div>

This shot is one of my favorites of the vibrant all-ages hooping scene that gathers round the live music that happens bi-weekly at Weaver St. during the summer months. Pretty sure this is from 2004, maybe even 2003. It captures quite well the joy I always feel there, heart-full! I miss those times, those friends...those awesome little hooplings that blow me away with their prowess at 6 years old! (Although, I do appreciate that it looks like I'm blowing away the little girl on the left in this shot ;-) Full size view is better...</div>
