What do you expect me to do? It's been a rough week!

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/spiralintochaos/blog/959126e2-ee1c-4a26-95b5-7a811533a8c3"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/d4c/b77/d4cb77a0-a10a-4b98-96a1-eed8f228a364.thumb" width="60" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>I'm guessing it must have entered through my ear while I was sleeping. It’s the only reasonable explanation I can think of.

I woke up much earlier than usual since almost immediately it began rearranging neural pathways and somehow short circuiting even my most basic of thinking patterns. Concentration and memory were the first to go. Over the course of a week I parted ways with coordination, clear speech, and just about anything else the fucking bastard could sink it’s fucking claws into.

Initially, I found that I could ward it off a little, but one by one my defenses fell. Drugs, psytrance, sex, even books- they all stopped working until it was just me, defeated and frantic, with that twisted little fucker running wild through my head.

Eventually I gave in, and against my better judgement, went to see a medical doctor. Not taken seriously, as usual, I simply received a referral to another doctor (this one a psychiatrist). He gave me some pills that made my head feel like concrete and talked a lot about the cognitive process and "sociopathic personality disorders". For the duration of my visit, the thing in my head was urging me to find a heavy object to brain the son of a bitch with. I was surprised to find that I agreed with the thing, nevertheless I managed to resist.

I tried ignoring it, I tried living with it, and goddess help me, I pathetically tried reasoning with it, but it just kept shredding and chewing turning my mind into a cesspool of psychotic urges, mixed with rage and confusion. Even the cats don't trust me anymore- I can see it in their eyes as they frantically back away from me. They will surely leave me, once I open the door and give them a chance to escape.

Fuck it- it's time to take sirius action.

First I tried banging my head against the wall, but I think the little bastard simply got a giggle out of that. In desperation, I tried going in through the left ear with a screwdriver, but it was just way too fast. I attempted to pour bleach into the other ear, but when I regained consciousness it was still there.

If it didn’t want to leave, I’d have no choice but to evict it.

I went into the warehouse and turned on the table saw, lining my neck up with the spinning blade - measure twice, cut once they say. I laid back on the table and rolled slowly over onto the whirling blade, but managed only to slice off more of my dreadlocks, and an earlobe, before landing on my ass.

It had never really occurred to me that cutting your own head off with things around the house wasn’t easy.

After a little thought, I finally had it. I simply walked outside, waving goodbye to the cats as they darted away forever, and turned to the railroad tracks that run by my trailer. Last chance fucker, I thought to myself, walk or die.

No response. *sigh*

I had to lay with my neck across the tracks for far too long, however I was delighted to find that I didn't have any second thoughts, and nobody came by to question me, or try to stop me. Finally, I saw a train approaching, and decided to turn over so that I could spend my last moment looking at the sky. The trains horn didn't deter me, and and as everything turned black for the last time I could swear I felt something pop out of my goddamned ear.</div>

And is it any surprise?

Start a Food not Bombs chapter, and what response do I get?
"Bring me some fried chicken next time."

Get tear gassed in Seattle? Held illegally in a FEMA camp?
" I don't have time to listen to this, I'm trying to obtain more money, or take fake elections seriously"

I could talk all fucking day about how globalism will eventually starve us all, and nobodies listening, but once I start talking about shaving my pussy, everybody has something to say.
You're all fucking pathetic. Animatronic meat puppets, if you will...

Now, I've always been a bit of a misanthropist, but now I'm siriusly dedicated until I see some hope in some non-alien humans.

I'm still vegan, because I have a lot of hope for mother earth, and the non-human beings that inhabit her (or it). And, as always, I'm ready to work for cooperative efforts with individuals that have functioning brain cells.

As far as the misanthropic tendencies, and feeling of deep existensial dread go, according to wikipedia, I'm not alone:

Global Famine: brought to you by the "Federal" Reserve

    </a>
<div>What a perfect plan. Let's just allow us all to be starved into submission. Confiscate our "wealth" through inflation. The amero is the only way out. More centralized power in the hands of the few that created the problems in the first place. Even if the banking crime families cause the problem, why not just accept their solution, avoiding self sufficiency and common sense?

Unless you sleep with your head packed in ice, you may actually want to read this.

Mike Whitney
Online Journal
April 29, 2008
The stakes couldn’t be higher for Ben Bernanke. If the Fed chief decides to lower rates at the end of April, he could be condemning millions of people to a death by starvation.
The situation is that serious. Food riots have broken out across the globe destabilizing large parts of the developing world. China is experiencing double-digit inflation. Indonesia, Vietnam and India have imposed controls over rice exports. Wheat, corn and soya are at record highs and threatening to go higher still. Commodities are up across the board. The World Food Program is warning of widespread famine if the West doesn’t provide emergency humanitarian relief.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said it best: "It is a massacre of the world’s poor. The problem is not the production of food. It is the economic, social and political model of the world. The capitalist model is in crisis."
Right on, Hugo. There is no shortage of food; it’s just the prices that are making food unaffordable. Bernanke’s "weak dollar" policy has ignited a wave of speculation in commodities which is pushing prices into the stratosphere. The UN is calling the global food crisis a "silent tsunami," but its more like a flood; the world is awash in increasingly worthless dollars that are making food and raw materials more expensive. Foreign central banks and investors presently hold $6 trillion in dollars and dollar-backed assets, so when the dollar starts to slide, the pain radiates through entire economies. This is especially true in countries where the currency is pegged to the dollar. That’s why most of the Gulf States are experiencing runaway inflation. This doesn’t mean that oil depletion, biofuel production, over-population, and giant agribusinesses don’t add to the problem. They do. But the catalyst is the Fed’s monetary policies; that’s the domino that puts the others in motion.
Here’s Otto Spengler’s summary in his recent article in Asia Times, Rice, Death and the Dollar: "The global food crisis is a monetary phenomenon, an unintended consequence of America’s attempt to inflate its way out of a market failure. There are long-term reasons for food prices to rise, but the unprecedented spike in grain prices during the past year stems from the weakness of the American dollar. Washington’s economic misery now threatens to become a geopolitical catastrophe. . . . The link between the declining parity of the US unit and the rising price of commodities, including oil as well as rice and other wares, is indisputable.
"Never before in history has hunger become a global threat in a period of plentiful harvests. Global rice production will hit a record of 423 million tons in the 2007-2008 crop year, enough to satisfy global demand. The trouble is that only 7% of the world’s rice supply is exported, because local demand is met by local production. Any significant increase in rice stockpiles cuts deeply into available supply for export, leading to a spike in prices. Because such a small proportion of the global rice supply trades, the monetary shock from the weak dollar was sufficient to more than double its price." ["Rice, death and the dollar", By Otto Spengler, Asia Times]

The US is exporting its inflation by cheapening its currency. Now a field worker in Haiti who earns $2 a day, and spends all of that to feed his family, has to earn twice that amount or eat half as much. No wonder that six people were killed in Port au Prince in the recent food riots. People go crazy when they can’t feed their kids.
Food and energy prices are sucking the life out of the global economy. Foreign banks and pension funds are trying to protect their investments by diverting dollars into things that will retain their value. That’s why oil is nudging $120 per barrel when it should be in the $70 to $80 range.
According to Tim Evans, energy analyst at Citigroup in New York, “There’s no supply-demand deficit." None. In fact suppliers are expecting an oil surplus by the end of this year.
"The case for lower oil prices is straightforward: The prospect of a deep U.S. recession or even a marked period of slower economic growth in the world’s top energy consumer making a dent in energy consumption. Year to date, oil demand in the U.S. is down 1.9% compared with the same period in 2007, and high prices and a weak economy should knock down U.S. oil consumption by 90,000 barrels a day this year, according to the federal Energy Information Administration." ["Bears Baffled by Oil Highs," Gregory Meyer, Wall Street Journal]
There’s no oil shortage; that’s another ruse. Speculators are simply driving up the price of oil to hedge their bets on the falling dollar. What else can they do, put them in the frozen bond market, or the sinking stock market, or the collapsing housing market? The Fed has gummed up the entire financial system with its low-interest credit scam, now it’s on to commodities where the real pain is just beginning to be felt.
This is what happens when there’s too many dollars sloshing around the system; they all need a place to rest, and when they do, they create equity bubbles. Sound familiar? Indeed. This is Greenspan’s legacy in a nutshell; the dark specter of Maestro will continue to haunt the world until all the hyper-inflated asset-classes (real estate, bonds, stocks, commodities) return to earth and all the red ink is mopped up. That’ll take time, but Bernanke could make things a lot easier if he accepted some responsibility for the current turmoil and raised rates by 25 basis points. That would show speculators that the Fed was serious about defending the currency, which would send the commodities bubble crashing to earth. Prices would go down overnight.
But Bernanke won’t raise rates because he doesn’t really give a hoot about the people in Cameroon who have to scavenge through garbage dumps for a few morsels to keep their families alive. Nor does he care about the average American working-stiff who goes into cardiac arrest every time he pulls up to the gas pump. What matters to Bernanke is making sure that his fat cat buddies in the banking establishment get a steady stream of low interest loot, so they can paper over their bad investments and ward off bankruptcy for another day or two. It’s a joke; it was the investment banks that created this mess with their putrid mortgage-backed securities and other debt exotica. Still, in Bernanke’s mind, they are the only ones who really count.
And don’t expect Bush to step in and save the day either. The "Decider" still believes in the unrestricted activity of the free market, especially when his crooked friends can make a buck on the deal.
From the Washington Times: "Farmers and food executives appealed fruitlessly to federal officials yesterday for regulatory steps to limit speculative buying that is helping to drive food prices higher. Meanwhile, some Americans are stocking up on staples such as rice, flour and oil in anticipation of high prices and shortages spreading from overseas. Costco and other grocery stores in California reported a run on rice, which has forced them to set limits on how many sacks of rice each customer can buy. Filipinos in Canada are scooping up all the rice they can find and shipping it to relatives in the Philippines, which is suffering a severe shortage that is leaving many people hungry." [Patrice Hill, Washington Times]
The Bush administration knows there’s hanky-panky going on, but they just look the other way. It’s Enron all over again — where Ken Lay &amp; Co. scalped the public with utter impunity while regulators sat on the sidelines applauding. Great. Now it’s the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) turn; they’re taking a hands-off approach so Wall Street sharpies make a fortune jacking up the price of everything from soda crackers to toilet bowls.
"A hearing Tuesday in Washington before the Commodity Futures Trading Commission starts a new round of scrutiny into the popularity of agricultural futures, once a quieter arena that for years was dominated largely by big producers and consumers of crops and their banks trying to manage price risks. The commission’s official stance and that of many of the exchanges, however, is likely to disappoint many consumer groups. The CFTC’s economist plans to state at the hearing that the agency doesn’t believe financial investors are driving up grain prices. Some grain buyers say speculators’ big bets on relatively small grain exchanges, especially recently, are pushing up prices for ordinary consumers. ["Call Goes Out to Rein In Grain Speculators", Ann Davis]
"The agency doesn’t believe financial investors are driving up grain prices"?
Prices have doubled, people are starving, and the Bush troop is still parroting the same worn party-mantra. It’s maddening.
The US has been gaming the system for decades; sucking up two-thirds of the world’s capital to expand its cache of Cadillac Escalades and flat-screen TVs; giving nothing back in return except mortgage-backed junk, cluster bombs, and crummy green paper. Nothing changes; it only gets worse. But this time its different. The world is now facing the very real prospect of famine on a massive scale because 12 doddering old banksters at the Federal Reserve would rather bail out their sketchy friends than save the lives of starving women and children. Bernanke, with one swipe of the pen, now has an opportunity to send more people to their eternal reward than Bush. If he cut rates, the dollar will fall, commodities will spike, and people will starve. It’s as simple as that.

Christopher Columbus Sunrise Psytrance Set - Oct 12, 1492

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/spiralintochaos/blog/3a067066-324b-4443-a384-e264c01d0ed4"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/866/50d/86650d17-cbe3-4258-92be-62167ede5dda.thumb" width="65" height="46" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>We all know that Columbus "discovered" America. "Patriots" take a day out of each year to celebrate and remember this accomplishment. Indeed, much has been written of his voyage to the "New World." But what the history books seldom mention is the little known fact that Columbus brought with him 3 pairs of Mackies with subs. (Columbus liked the bass) He placed those PA's, 1 each, on the Nina, the Pinta, and of course, the Santa Maria. He also brought with him 1000 glowsticks and 400 hits of pure MDMA which he planned to hand out to the natives when he arrived in the new world.

The name Christopher Columbus has since been etched into our collective consciousness. The name brings to mind his daring and his heroism. It stirs up powerful notions of optimism, ingenuity and sheer American audacity. You may also know that he was an innovator of many blue water navigational techniques, including dead reckoning and the use of the sextant for celestial navigation.

But what you probably never heard about before was the absolutely sick psytrance set he laid down on the eve of his greatest discovery. It was early in the morning on October 12, 1492. The expedition had already lost the Santa Maria in heavy seas off the Azores a month earlier. So they had moved one of the Mackie stacks onto the Pinta for better stereo separation. The bass was booming. The girls were topless; wearing only mirrored aviators, cowboy hats and fuzzy leg warmers. The enlisted men were getting funky on the foredeck.

Rodrigo de Triana, one of Columbus' officers and a great dj - mostly known for dark minimal breaks - was up on the bridge rocking out in a full furry dog suit which he had sewn while at port in the Caicos Islands a week earlier. Rodrigo de Triana looked out across the horizon during an extended ambient fill. He took in a deep breath of ocean air, snuggled up against the furry collar of his dog suit and had a needed bolt of water. When the eye jitter finally settled down, he saw land!

We hear stories of these incredible parties: Breakfast of Champions, 2004. Mukti and Kriya Tag-Teaming at Ye Olde Denver Warehouse, The 420 Renegade Party, Halloween 2003. Those things at the NASA base. Tipper and Lorin's sunrise set after the burn at Lotus in '04. Or Petey and Xavier rocking out The Mor Bar one Tuesday night. Let me assure you that the Columbus Sunrise Set - as it's called by those 'in the know' - October 12, 1492 - just off the coast of Las Islas de Arena - Well, that party put them all to shame.</div>

Berkeley considers aiding Medical Marijuana patients in the event of DEA closures of dispensaries. I love this town.

<div>Resolution would declare area a sanctuary for medical pot users and distributors

By Doug Oakley

STAFF WRITER
Article Launched: 01/26/2008 02:59:19 AM PST

Berkeley is considering a plan to help get medical marijuana to patients if the Drug Enforcement Administration shuts down any of the city-permitted cannabis clubs.

The plan by City Councilmen Darryl Moore and Kriss Worthington already has drawn fire from the Berkeley police, the city manager's office and the DEA.

The resolution before the City Council on Tuesday night declares Berkeley a sanctuary for medical marijuana users and distributors, and says "the city itself shall ensure a continuum of access to medical marijuana" if the DEA moves in.

Whether that means the city selling marijuana itself or helping another distributor get started is up in the air at the moment, Moore said. He wants the police chief and city manager to come back with suggestions.

"The piece I originally suggested is that in the wake of a DEA closure that the city would step in and provide medical marijuana, and that was what the city manager and the police chief had a problem with," Moore said.

After a December meeting with Berkeley police Chief Douglas Hambleton and City Manager Phil Kamlarz, the language of the proposed resolution was softened.

The DEA doesn't like the idea of Berkeley selling marijuana.

"Our stand on it is if someone from the city sells it, it is still illegal, and we will investigate and take action as appropriate," said Javier Pena, special agent in charge of the DEA field office in San Francisco. "Anyone who breaks the law is at risk of getting arrested.

Moore said a DEA crackdown in Berkeley could necessitate a medical emergency.

"I personally feel the state has adopted medical marijuana, and it is overwhelmingly positive," Moore said. "Should the DEA crack down here, it will be a public health issue, and the city should be responsible for the medical needs of its residents."

The DEA raided and closed five medical marijuana dispensaries in the Bay Area in the past year, according to a spokeswoman. And according to the resolution, the DEA has shut down 28 dispensaries in 11 counties statewide since June.

The resolution also criticizes the DEA's warnings to property owners in Berkeley that they face asset forfeiture and prosecution if they continue to lease property to medical marijuana providers.

Berkeley police spokeswoman Sgt. Mary Kusmiss said the department must straddle conflicting state and federal laws.

"There is a difference between us honoring Prop. 215 -- which legalized medical marijuana in California -- and actively violating federal law," Kusmiss said.

Berkeley's two dispensaries are the Berkeley Patients' Group on San Pablo Avenue and Berkeley Patients' Care Collective on Telegraph Avenue.

The city already has directed its police department not to cooperate with federal investigations of any dispensaries. But critics, including Americans for Safe Access based in Oakland, say police violated that policy last fall when it was on the scene of a search by the Internal Revenue Service and the Alameda County Sheriff of a Berkeley hills home that was connected to a marijuana dispensary raided outside Berkeley.

"We weren't facilitating the search warrant in that case," Kusmiss said. "We were there because there were cars being towed, and we were supporting the other officers there."

The resolution before the council should mainly be used as a statement to the federal government that Berkeley is serious about medical marijuana, said Kris Hermes, spokesman for Americans for Safe Access.

"It's not going to be in the municipal code, but it is a strong statement that the federal government is not welcome in the city of Berkeley and it stands behind its permitted facilities," Hermes said.

Hermes said instead of distributing marijuana, he sees the resolution as a way of getting the city to help find an emergency location for a cannabis club to operate if one is shut down.

"We're not asking the city to become a distributor," Hermes said.

<div>I don't know if any of you spend time in Berkeley (probably not) but if you do, you have seen this certain woman around. She appears to be in her late 60's, early 70's (I'm horrible at guessing age) She clearly hasn't been homeless for a long time (not as long as me, at least). I approached her, and she was very confused and talking to herself. She is wearing high quality business-like clothing, though they have grown filthy. Fushia and I hypothesize that this woman was possibly released from a hospital or someplace, and has ended up wandering the streets. Basically the situation is this: I want to help her. The details: she isn't "with it" enough to converse with, and I think that she is better off on the streets than in some sort of county mental institution. So, yeah, i need advice. What would you do? Also, love is nice, but please no recommendations that I offer her love and *DO* nothing, or give her a finger painting or some other crap. I would like to EXPRESS love by DOING something for this woman, rather than just "show her some love" and DO nothing for her. Thanks.</div>

<div>Do you have any clue how much of a weight it will be off my shoulders (literally)
Hell, my hair is past my ass now, even *after* cutting several feet off on account of the "incident" (hair in bike chain!)
Thing is, lets face it, at this point, I should obviously be paid for this. Why not?? Once I forget about it, somebody will come along and offer me a large sum of money to do this on video, probably. Lets make a movie.</div>

<div>As Amerikkkans, we have sooo much to be thankful for!

thanks for a Continent to despoil and poison —

thanks for Indians to provide a modicum of challenge and danger —

thanks for vast herds of bison to kill and skin, leaving the carcass to rot —

thanks for bounties on wolves and coyotes —

thanks for the AMERICAN DREAM to vulgarize and falsify until the bare lies shine through —

thanks for the KKK, for nigger-killing lawmen feeling their notches, for decent church-going women with their mean, pinched, bitter, evil faces

thanks for "Kill a Queer for Christ" stickers —

thanks for laboratory AIDS —

thanks for Prohibition and the War Against [some] Drugs —

thanks for a country where nobody is allowed to mind his own god damned business —

thanks for a nation of finks — yes,

thanks for all the memories... all right, let's see your arms... you always were a headache and you always were a bore —

thanks for the last and greatest betrayal of the last and greatest of human dreams.

    </a>
<div>I know this for sure now.
It's over.
OVER.
We are truly fucked.
Did you ever see that horror flick "Idiocracy"?
Today on the bus I saw a girl approx. 19yrs old eating her own snot, wearing a sweatshirt that said:
"Go Dumb With Me"
I looked around at the blank stares, and really understood,
we are all fucked.
Their hypnosis is my crisis.
None of this matters anymore,
Throw away your condoms, vitamin pills, and protest signs.
Cash in your 401K and spend it on fast women (or me)
Lets go to Borneo- We'll live like the beasts in the field taking delight in simple earthly pleasures.</div>

    </a>
<div>It's funny how I can just sit on my ass and smoke pot all day,
just entertaining all the ideas of the things I could be doing with myself.
Then, mysteriously, manage to attract everything that I decide I wanted in that time
with really no effort on my part.

This time I've reeled in:
Getting paid to shave my legs (rediculous!)
More cash farm work,
a trip to Mexico!
(and a visit to LA people while I'm south)
An actual Job

wait, what?!?

That's not good news for somebody so overjoyed to be retired!
Oh, but it's in a stained glass art studio,
doin' one of the things I do best!
Also, I think I will finish the project within a week,
so there's nothing to tie me down :)</div>
