What do I mean by Rock?
Well, i invite you to Go see Umphreys Mcgee Oct. 19th 2006.
they are the tightest band you will ever see. period
Ask anybody who knows and you'll believe what I'm tawkin about.

Umphreys Rocks. All music types. Funk it out, jam it up. and then move into some beautiful stuff. Then rock.
Umphreys has gotten big.
Kind of funny to think that the first time I saw them was at a basement party in 97 on ogden street in Kalamazoo, Mi.
Wow. those were the days.
These guys are goofy, fun and have a grrreat time.,
Come on, you gotta love a guitarist with Yoda on his stack.
These guys are musical geniuses that will caress, dance and boogie Come on!

I'll second that.
I saw these guys last spring and I was like, "DAMN!"
Talk about reaching ecstacy from a guitar solo! These guys are hot! (and damned cute) Real music that rocks it out! Sure, they are a JAM band, (and we all know how tired we can get from jam bands) but they are one of the last to really throw it down. I don't think video or cd really brings out the energy that these guys eminate. However, be prepared for massive amounts of 21 year olds drunk on whiskey, with white capped boys mixed in with young dreadies. If you are over 35 this scene will have the beauty of making you feel old while at the same time making you happy you are no longer 21. At first I felt like the old lady, however after the cute girls got drunk, they were following me around trying to lick my neck, while the boys were trying to live out an Ashton Kutcher fantasy, so I guess it ain't that bad. Hmmmm... love those young hippy days. OH - and don't forget Citizen Cope is playing the night before on the 18th at wonder ballroom. rock it. zz |

You Spirit! Where's Umphreys Playing? Crystal Ballroom? Come on man, don't bogart that venue! I've got a feeva' and the only prescription is more Umphrey's venue. You know I'm going to go to this when you go, so keep a monkey informed.

I'm an Umphreak for sure and Lotus rocks. Dealbreaker is: The Roseland. I'm not giving those fuckers a dime. I may go in to watch it on the bigscreen downstairs. You can go, but be careful. Watch out for the metal detectors and the friskers. Leave as soon as the show's over. Don't let them catch you smoking weed and don't carry water from room to room and you might be ok. Oh, and the sound SUUUUCCCKKKKs. I'd take the Crystal any day. Fuck, I'd rather hang out on Spirit Monkey's profile all day. The Roseland inspired me to coin the term "hippycrite". Here's how:

I totally understand your concern, but come on man, this thread was super dope and upbeat and happy - until WHAM! your post came in and made me scratch my head and actually re-think my joy. Again, I'm not condoning the Roseland for there assholeness, but truthfully - are you spreading the love or spreading the downer-vibe for an obviously fun time. Don't rain on our parade.
