Heaven just became a little brighter - RIP Ramona 1993-2007
A bit late in posting here, but it still hits me every day - sometimes subtly, and at other times in a sudden, great wave of grief. Even so, without a doubt, I feel she is still with me; if not physically, then as a part of my heart and spirit. On Monday, November 12th, at about 6pm, my dear cat Ramona passed away. Her decline began suddenly and unexpectedly late Sunday night. Her heart and lungs were failing, and though the hospital veterinarians had her on various forms of chemical and mechanical life support and tried every form of remedy they knew of during the following hours, they could not bring her body back to a state in which it would've been able to support itself. She was euthanized peacefully in my arms as Danny and I stroked her fur.
Those of you who met Ramona knew her to be a sweet little lady who was timid at times but became a champion cuddler when she was in comfortable company. She did grow to be more assertive in her later years (especially at feeding times and when she was in the mood to snuggle, no matter what time it was - ahem), all the while remaining to be a loving, charming, cheeky, sensitive, inquisitive, gentle girl with her distinctive, white-mittened paws, big, soulful eyes and slightly creaky meow. She was a wonderful friend who had a beautiful soul, and she will very much be missed.
Added to the gallery are some photos taken of Ramona enjoying two of her favorite activities: gazing out the window on a sunny day, and relaxing on something soft.
