it was a majik evening ... to be in the presence of Buffy Saint-Marie ... WOW! Her songs, her voice, her being touched my soul - made tears of longing, of joy, of deep sadness well up and stream over my face ...

refreshing! and a rejoicing to have your spirit touched like this... to resonate so deeply with ... Buffy Saint-Marie is a legend for the world ... a beautiful and strong voice for Indigenous peoples.

Thank You! to my loved ones who were with me, to the organizers (COPE 378)... read more

it is coming into focus as our world is shape-shifting - much do to the influence of technocratic societies whose cultures take without the need to give ... i was born into this culture - yet i feel uncomfortable and wish to be the change the world needs ... and this is an ongoing journey ... i know i am not alone

about me
an earth child who finds her sacred rythm in dance and connection to ancient wisdom; the world is my community; i am living in vancouver in an amazingly loving home finishing my MSc degree in revitalising traditional plant wisdom and building academic capacity with a First Nations band in the Fraser Canyon. My roots are German and Indonesian. My childhood memories are mostly from Germany and travelling in abundance with my gypsy parents. I was raised in the home my great, great grand parents started building many years ago, and lived with my mom, dad, sister, aunt, uncle, grandparents and great-grandmother in a small rural town just outside of Frankfurt. There I learned about running through fields, getting fresh milk in the morning, an abundance of childhood adventures and about growing up among healers with great love and responsibilities. At the dawn of youth my family moved to Canada and the sunny Okanagan where I deeply connected with the land and the wisdom people of turtle island have been holding sacred since time immemorial. Since then my spirit journey has deepened considerably. My spirit mother Little Eagle took me under her wing and guided me on this journey honouring a sacred connected path to ancient traditions. My calling is to healing and resonate with beauty and connection. For 7 years I have been at university. My chosen path learning about and from great teachers in medicine - plants. This year I'm hoping to finish my degree in ethnobotany and then journey as my heart and mind lead me ... first to Indonesia to connect with my roots there. I'm excited about life. Have deep gratitude for the gifts and experiences that have greeted me this time around. And I look forward to many more amazing moments!

words in*spire

"Look to this day, for it is life, the very breath of life. In its brief course lie all the realities of your existence: the bliss of growth, the glory of action, the splendor of beauty. For yesterday is only a dream and tomorrow is but a vision. But today, well lived, makes every yesterday a dream of happiness, and every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day." --Ancient Sanskrit Poem

in my own words - LovingEarthConnections

LovingEarthConnections

it's the earth's balance that moves me
her breath emerging from wet green leaves
her abundance found in every water drop
in ponds, lakes, oceans

even in her scarcity
in hot, moonscape like worlds
earth is abundant
with mystery, wonder, and need to create

my body lies against hers
and i feel our energy move through one another
i am her, belong to her
hence i came from her, was born from her bountiful womb

my hands grip into her
my mouth kisses her, breathes into her
and i feel my feminine devine alive
i feel connected as a part of the great mother

blessed with a womb, breasts that can give milk
just like her clean streams of water that emerge deep from the Earth
from her

this is a love-letter
an acknowledgement
from one woman to our mother
feeling lovingearth connections
