We have some amazing dancers contributing their time and talent to this year's ABDC. Our Friday night showcase features special guests including ALL the ABDC instructors: Bahaia, Brandy Bollin, Lily, Gitane, Miabella, myself, Yasmina and Suleiman! Adriana from CA will also be joining us... You know her from the For Dancers by Dancers and Secrets of the Stage DVD series.

Saturday night is going to be equally exciting featuring Yasmina and Suleiman (of course) and other guests such as Karen Barbee, Tanja from CA, Lisa Zahiya from NC and the lovely and fabulous Tanya from Las Vegas!

The Austin Belly Dance Convention (ABDC), June 5-7 2009 featuring Yasmina

get a special deal of $100 for all drum workshops and shows. We have a full
line up of activities planned this year including dance workshops from
Bahaia, Brandy Bollin, Gitane, Lily, Miabella and Stacey Lizette! Suleiman
will be teaching two drumming classes as well... so many options!

The open stage on Saturday is sure to book fast. Anyone who is registered
for at least one workshop (make up session excluded) is eligible to perform
on the open stage. Friday and Saturday night shows will be smoking hot with
acts coming in from all over the US!

But that's not all....Learn the art of make-up technique from a working
dance professional, Adriana. Adriana has been working with dancers
throughout northern California and with stars such as Zaheea Anan, Michelle
Joyce, Vashti, and more. Her makeup skills were featured in the Cheeky Girls
Production of "Secrets of the Stage" # 4 DVD. A limited number of
semi-private sessions are available. Call Adriana at (949)939-1646. Cost is
75$ per person and includes a complimentary DVD and before and after photos.

Hot Pink Hallah for Sale

Hi everyone,

I paid $850, which is well worth a costume of this quality. If you have never tried on a Hallah... what can I tell you? The comfort and quality are beyond compare in my opinion. I made a couple of small adjustments from the original design by tilting the bra cups slighly so they rest at more of an angle, I also sewed down some of the rhinestone medalions (some were set with hooks but I found that they came unhooked when I danced). Lastly, I moved the medalions on the bra so that the draped crystals draped properly for my size/settings.

All in all, this is a brand new Hallah. I think I wore it 3 times so far, and I don't believe the previous owner wore it at all.

Four hours instruction suitable for any student! Workshop participants will perform exercises to build strength, prevent injury and enhance flexibility. Specific muscle isolations and footwork will be explained and practiced, culminating in dance combinations which students can use in their own solo improvisation or group choreography performances.

Suhaila performance in Austin Feb 16th

I can't believe that Suhaila will be in Austin in just a few short weeks! Austin is my home town... I was raised here not only as a person but as a bellydancer. The community here is like a family to me, and I really hope that everyone comes out to the show. I feel like it is show-and-tell time. "Look everyone! Here is Suhaila! I reeeeaaallly like her choreography. Isn't she neat?"
