so, I start using this new anti aging cream from my favorite shop in Sebastopol, Sumbody, where they have all natural beauty products, no preservatives, artificial fragrances, etc. I have been using their products for years and just love the. This new cream promises to firm and reduce the appearance of fine lines, nourish and protect. After a few days of using it I notice the skin around my eyes is getting a little sensitive, but it didn't happen right away so I didn't make the connection. After about a week of using the product I realize my whole face has gotten really sensitive and is starting to flake. My dear friend suggests I stop using the product. DUH! I call Sumbody and tell them my story and they tell me it sounds like an allergic reaction. I tell them the only thing I am allergic to is WHEAT, thinking there is now way they put WHEAT in a face cream. Well, guess what? They do... wheat amino acids. Jeez, 10 years of reading food labels looking to avoid wheat and now I have to watch out for what I put on my face. Who woulda thunk it? Now I have to look for wheat free beauty products.
