What can I say of my own son? I totally, unconditionally love this manchild of mine with an ache and smile. Shawn's place in my heart is one of almost excrutiating gratitude for all that we endured and came out of with love. Thank you for standing in the fire with me as I became myself and you became yourself. Thank you for your love that is endless, deep, wise, playful, sensitive, eternal. Thank you for being my master teacher on this earth plane knowing me in ways that no one else ever will and loving me in the darkest moments of our lives together. Shawn is one of the most brilliant, resilient, wise souls I've journeyed with and he is deep like the river beneath the river and ever so kindhearted. Self taught at eleven on the guitar that sometimes only had three strings, he has a gift for songwriting and music, imagination and storytelling. He knows everyone it seems because he takes the time to really connect with people. And when speaking of him let me not forget his wit and dry sense of humor. I've learned so much from you Shawn. What a gift it is for us to be inside of magical communities of people who see us rarely together but know of our roots. I look forward to dancing the firecircle with you Shawn as we have danced life. You are a beautiful man. I will always believe in you and be here for you no matter what. This man saved my life, and he was only 15 at the time. I recently reconnected with Shawn after not seeing him for over 10 years, and I'll say this about him: he's every bit as kind and warm-hearted as I remembered. He relates to others honestly. I'm looking forward to more fun times with him!
