New name
I think your new name has an interesting roll off the tongue and I like it.
Tell me, what source is this name - does it have any cultural or personal meaning? The artwork you posted is awesome too. Peace. |

Why Akasha?
So, I've been trying to find a dancer name for a loooong time now. And for some reason this one is sticking so far. So, ive been searching, mostly by the sound of the name, and sometimes the meaning, Well, I found this one recently, when reading the vampire series by Ann Rice. Akasha is one of the two oldest vampires, an Goddess, and a Good Queen from Egypt. But that's not the thing that really struck me. I just really liked the sound of it, I thought that it was really pretty and that it might work on me, a fair haired dancer. (Even though I dont look Egyptian at all, for the name, lol)
But anyways, So then I looked it up on the internet and was blown away. It totally works for me!! See, I am totally into quantum physics and how it all conects to spirituallity, and I believe in all religions, being a Baha'i, so when I found these meanings I loved the name even more, but then almost felt humble, like I should be dancing to Akasha, or for Akasha, not as Akasha ; ) So, the meanings that I found were many, because they were spiritual, so there were many slightly different inturpretations from many old religions, but just a few basic, deeper meanings. Akahsa means, basically, that energy (or void in some of the interps) that is in everthing, The space or energy that unites all, and is in everything, all through the universe. (sounds like Quantum physics interpretation of the Love or Spirituallity, or God that unites the universe doesn't it? = ) In Southern Buddism, this energy, or space is considered so important, that it is one of the Three ways in which they see God! So, a bit over my head I thought, but I love it even more, as these thoughts have been on my mind for several years now, I even wrote my college thesis on Quantum Physics and spirituallity (alot of Baha'i writings included :) So, it calls to me, and I hope that it continues to fit. I know that I will have a hard time finding one that means more. It even inspires me when dancing, or to dance more :) Now, I want to do some like meditative dances, too, lol. : D long answer, sorry, lol, but I think that it helped me to think about and explore the answer to that question again, ; ) ~ Stephanie |
