People used to use the phrase "tough as nails" to describe me, though admittedly I've mellowed some. Don't get me wrong I'll still spank you and take away your birthday if you're tactless in my presence, but I've learned to choose my battles. I have a thing for people who have a strong sense of personal accountability and are aware that their life is not anyone else's fault.

I live my life one day at a time and can be quite impulsive. I am also quite loyal and can be somewhat sentimental. I value my family, my dog and close friends, in that order. People tend to like me though the feeling isn't always mutual...I regard most people as curious creatures and am slow to consider someone a "friend" rather than "acquaintance". I like to think of myself as a "take no prisoners" kind of girl who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to take it. But in reality I'm prolly just another face in the crowd. :)

late night introspection
I have a very strange sleep schedule and go through periods where I can't sleep at all (no I don't do drugs), I've had this problem since I can remember. I am nocturnal and have an extremely hard time functioning before the sun goes down, therein lies the problem...most people work during the day and sleep at night, those who are night owls tend to party. Joseph Merrick poetry...
Okay, so I'm bored and trolling the internet for random bits of knowledge, as I often am, and I decide to look up some poetry by Joseph Merrick (most know him as "the elephant man")...the problem is I can only find one poem that is attributed to him. I know he was very into writing poetry and prose (this fact is even mentioned by several of the biographies that a google search provided) but I can't seem to find any of his works. The strange thing about that movie "Black Snake Moan"
After watching the movie "Black Snake Moan" with Christina Ricci and Samuel L. Jackson I was struck by an overwhelming sense of deja vu ...why did the story seem so familiar? Then I remembered a song by PJ Harvey called "Long Snake Moan" from the early to mid nineties...but the movie came out in 2006, is there some sort of odd correlation I wondered. I looked up the lyrics...creepy.

The monster in the closet.
There's something living in my sister's dirty clothes.
I'm serious. It's pure evil. It has sharp claws, big teeth and only comes out at night.
I lived here for a month before ever seeing the damned thing.
I thought she was joking when I asked what happened to the wood on the banister.
