Remember that Engineer in Training Exam (EIT) I took back in April? It's the exam you take halfway before taking the Professional Engineer exam to become a licensed engineer. Well, I got a letter today with my results.

I passed =3

So now I'm officially "James L, E.I.T."

Hooray for useless titles! ^^

Music and Paycheck

To celebrate my first paycheck of the summer, I got a coupla CD albums which I've had my eye on for a while. Only when I got home did I realize they were all British artists.

*Muse - Black Holes and Revelations*
Heavy rock, namely heavy on the guitars, and apparently they have a touch of Prince (?) to them. I got hooked on their Absolution album, so I have high hopes for this one. I'm a coupla tracks into the album and already sounds great.

*Snow Patrol - Eyes Open*
This is Alt. Rock I guess, and a little bit emo as far as lyrics. They seem to have a constant theme of broken things being beatiful. This album so far seems to be a bit more ballad than their previous album. I got hooked on Snow Patrol from their Final Straw album, which was quite good. Let's hope this one's a good follow up.

*Way Out West - Don't Look Now*
Dance / House, a hint of pop. Jag had introduced me to two songs by them: Killa and Anything But You, both of which I really enjoyed. So I decided to support the artist and just buy the album. I didn't realize so many of their songs were on TV o.O But no matter... the samples I listened to sound decent, but they feel mostly like house, heavy on the base. I've got hopes for this one even though people say the quality of their music has gone down since their debut self-titled album, and this is their third. The biggest complaint I've heard is they can't make up their mind whether they want to be house or pop/dance, causing them to fail at both.

I guess I can identify though... I fail at being asian and caucasian, even though I'm both =P
