strong cottonwoods was (re)named by trees during the Dionysian dream that was a hiatus from his studies at the University of Victoria. Since then he has root'd himself in the mysteries of language and geometry. If the bastard lovechild of Walt Whitman + Billy Corgan were an M.C. Escher painting the canvas would surely hold the symmetry of a Mandelbrot Scott.

s.cott-onwoods' studies in the theatrics of professional wrestling have served him well during performances at Burning Man, the Canadian Festival of Spoken Word (where he joined forces with BLANK SPACE, Dragonboy, shayne avec i grec & Heather D to form the Victoria Slam Team), the Tell n Show and various venues in Victoria, BC & beyond.

In Jan 2005, shayne avec i grec & s.cott-onwoods established the Poet Pad, a cardboard castle located in the heart of downtown Victoria, which has since hosted numerous live jams & recording sessions, and served as headquarters for the BBP (Beat-Boxing Pirates, a 5-member beat-boxing/freestyling powerhouse of fun). He has also been a key volunteer/contributor to the Tell n Show (a monthly, all ages, by donation event, featuring an open stage/jam, spoken word showcase, free workshops & much more), assisting with organization, hosting, and facilitation.

Having since emerged from the gauntlet of institutionalized education, s.cott-onwoods has begun what promises to be a decades long process of un-/re-learning. He's dedicated to building community, facilitating open and honest communication, and inspiring others to express themselves with reckless abandon. In Jan 2006 he will be embarking with his brothers BLANK SPACE and Dragonboy on an epic cross-Canada tour...
