about me
If he exalt himself, I humble him,
If he humble himself, I exalt him;
And I contradict him always,
Until he understands
That he is an incomprehensible monster.

In the gravest of all truths there is still a stupid joke.

Speak, monkey, speak!

I made a "MySpace" page for my anachronistic music project on Friday the 13th.
Not my first choice of names, but the other was taken.

I found these cool old apple trees by the Willamette River.
There were 5 or 6 of them on a slope above the river bank.
From a distance I thought they were red plums, they were so dark, and kinda small.
They have a little blush on one side and are almost wine-colored on the darker side.
They're little trees, in terms of height, but they really produce a lot of apples.
And the apples are pretty good!

I wonder what kind they are, and how they got there?

I'm thinking about trying to gr... read more

The creeping tendrils of hipness have yet to find much fertile ground out where I live: the only place within a mile to find the Portland Mercury is down along the petal-strewn path at "Area 69".

I like the Mercury because their music reviews make everything, regardless of what it may be, sound momentous and legendary.

Peter McDougal was sent to found Astoria. Simon McTavish was head of the far west section of the Hudson Bay Company, itself populated by many prominent Scots.
John McLoughlin, known as "the father of Oregon", and Alexander MacKenzie, who completed the first overland trek across the North American contine... read more

I decided on Behr's "Royal Peacock" for a paint color.
I like it, but I would probably have to give the edge to Miller's "Electron Blue", which is the color I was trying to replicate in the cheapre and handier Behr (Behr is the HomeDepot house brand.)
Both handled well, but the Miller seems to have a little more vibrancy or something, as if there were a good, bright primer underneath it already.
The Peacock is gonna work just fine, though.

Blue Jay Vs Squirrel in all-out nut war.

Cutting rocks with a wood saw... (in DIY - do it yourself) I'd like to convert a wood cutting saw to a rock cutting saw, if it's possible.

Why? Because I can get a used table saw for around $50, which is pretty cheap.

Or I could get a used chop saw for around the same price. (rock saws, by compariso... read more

Please keep in mind, though, that this stuff is definitively "juvinilia", written half an eternity ago.
