I found these cool old apple trees by the Willamette River.
There were 5 or 6 of them on a slope above the river bank.
From a distance I thought they were red plums, they were so dark, and kinda small.
They have a little blush on one side and are almost wine-colored on the darker side.
They're little trees, in terms of height, but they really produce a lot of apples.
And the apples are pretty good!

I wonder what kind they are, and how they got there?

The creeping tendrils of hipness have yet to find much fertile ground out where I live: the only place within a mile to find the Portland Mercury is down along the petal-strewn path at "Area 69".

I like the Mercury because their music reviews make everything, regardless of what it may be, sound momentous and legendary.

I decided on Behr's "Royal Peacock" for a paint color.
I like it, but I would probably have to give the edge to Miller's "Electron Blue", which is the color I was trying to replicate in the cheapre and handier Behr (Behr is the HomeDepot house brand.)
Both handled well, but the Miller seems to have a little more vibrancy or something, as if there were a good, bright primer underneath it already.
The Peacock is gonna work just fine, though.
