...guys need to read this too! This book has completely changed my life!!!! Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin After reading it, I can't stick my head in the sand and continue the typical conscious numbing lifestyle that is fed me by society today. This book is a must read. Wakes you up to what we do to our bodies day in day out without even thinking of the cause and effects until it is way to late. Pick it up...it is a fast and powerful eye opening read. Or just ignore it and schedule your soon to be regular colonoscopy appointments....yeah, I said regular...that sounds like SO much fun, doesn't it??? Not...so, read the book and save your assets from the 'gold diggers.'

It's been a long time

Well, tribe has been a site that I have not been active on for sometime...I occasionally will step inside to over see how everyone's getting along...but more as a spectator then a player. I have been busy with life and the 'under construction' sign has been on the wall of my life for a while now...who knows if it will ever come down. Our acting troupe is local now for the most part....tin gods, egos, and non communication from string pullers have left us feeling like local events are much more rewarding. We get to deal with people we know, people who look at us as people...not just a name or part of a profiting experience and frankly, I feel that town to town events are dying out with the way the world is evolving. Frankly, I look at our local community, the crafters, artists and farmers as where it is at. I see a Market Faire to come that is the real deal...that is my oppinion. We are actors who are going to perform where our talents are enjoyed, where we share a mutual respect and understanding with our community...etc, etc, etc...sound a bit burned? well, yep...tired of it? well that is true. Doing something about it? We are happier now that we are expanding our local community talents. I have been reading a book that has affected my life in a very positive manor.... Skinny Bitch, sounds harsh, sounds stupid? It is quite remarkable! I feel a lot healthier and centered and at peace with my body and mind now...I am no longer wake up feeling like, 'oh god, another day with no energy' or like I am continually trying to pull my ass around feeling 'normal'. I am getting stronger every day and loving this energy that is created by my body...not by outside sourses that drop me on my ass half way through the day. Life is good. Thanks for listening. This past weekend we were invited down to a Renaissance Symposium to perform for their Saturday evening dinner party. It took me a few days to confirm that, indeed, enough of my players could be there. By the time I responded, the theme of the dinner had been change from bacchanalia to Big Band Swing, of all things (I found that ironic since we are swinging in our own space and time). So, we had to contemporize and that we did very well in my book! What was going to be a trip down to perform and back home turned into an opportunity for my troupe members to take some workshops from people other then myself that taught them about English Renaissance, character development, theater info, and other interesting stuff. Sword play was Colin's pick. Liz took a class in (of all things) how to be a jester. Deanna was MIA for most of the day in one class or another. I went to a board meeting and a roundtable :o/ ~ YeAh~ Well, all said and done, we performed. We were fed and I really must say, given the 'star' treatment from all that attended...we were brought food and drink and they took pictures of us and then...there was an award ceremony that we were unaware was taking place...things like: Best Solo/Best Historical/ Best Dance Group/ Best Theatrical Group/ Best Faire/ Best Crafter/ Best Musical act....etc. St. Valerius Troupe of Actors and Other Such Nonsense won for Best Theatrical Group. It was very cool to get an award in front of our peers and those that I have worked with and around for hmmm, roughly 27 yrs...Since I was a wee little faire brat. It made my heart swell. We have worked our bums off and it shows in everyone who is in the troupe. There is most definitely a spark, a special kind of magic that everyone sees in us that I am so very proud of!!! So, to my Group of thespians I say 'Three Cheers and then some!!!' After the awards were given out...the tables were pushed aside and we all danced and danced...lots a happy faces! Lots of good cheer and merry company! A great evening!! We meet this Sunday at 11:30, my place, again to discuss going abroad this coming year/what we got out of the symposium/ rehearsals for 12th Night/ and of coarse, swinging for the community. See you all there guys and dolls!

Happy Boxing Day, What Can you Give? We celebrate it so, I will share a bit about this tradition~ Boxing Day Only a few countries celebrate Boxing Day, which takes place on 26th December. It started in the UK about 800 years ago in the middle Ages. On this day, Alms boxes were opened and the money distributed to the poor of the community. Some churches still have Alms boxes and still uphold the tradition of opening them on Boxing Day. It is thought to have been the Romans who first introduced this type of collecting box to the UK. They, in fact, did not distribute the contents to the needy, but used it to gamble on the games they played during their winter celebrations. In Holland some of the collection boxes were made out of a rough pottery called 'earthenware' and were shaped like pigs. This may well be where we get the term 'piggy bank' from The Carol, Good King Wencelas, is set on Boxing Day, or 'The Feast of Stephen' and is about a King in the Middle Ages who brings food to a poor family. It was also traditional that servants got the day off to celebrate Christmas with their families on Boxing Day. Before the Second World War, it was common for milkmen, dustmen, and paperboys etc. to travel their round collecting Christmas tips. This tradition seems to have died out and people offer any Christmas boxes prior to Christmas itself. Boxing Day has now become another public holiday in countries such as the UK Canada, Australia and New Zealand. It is also the traditional day that Pantomimes started to play. There are also often sports played on Boxing Day in the UK, especially horse racing and football matches! St Stephen is the patron saint of horses, so Boxing Day became associated with horse-racing and hunting. Other sports are also held on this day like football and rugby. The 26th December is also St. Stephen's Day. Just to confuse things, there are two St. Stephen's in history! The first St. Stephen was a very early follower of Jesus and was the first Christian Martyr. The second St. Stephen was a Missionary, in Sweden, in the 800's. He loved all animals but particularly horses. He was also a martyr and was killed in Sweden. In Germany there was a tradition that horses would be ridden around the inside of the church during the St. Stephen's Day service! In England, this day has become part of the celebrations, of being with family. A day to visit other relations, and to have a rest from the day before, to play fun games. Some families, buy a new game each year, but still bring out the old favourites. For some it is good to have the 2 days, as on one of the days you can visit with your parents, and the other day your inlaws :-) Bright Blessings to you all on Boxing Day...if you have something to give those less fortunate, whether it be a gift that you cannot use, a warm blank, some shoes, or a cup of tea...give it! Saturday Night, we performed Thriller as an early Halloween present for our beloved dance teacher Deeta! It was soooo AWESOME! I was so nervous that she would take it the wrong way (since it is not bellydance) but...as you can clearly hear and see in the video...by her responce...she loved it!!! It was one of the most exciting moments of my dance life!!! I want to do it again! We will be doing it again!!! I love Amazon.com, but I can't support them if they care so much more about making a buck than they do about animals. Look at that....I have one too. Wow, My little faire brat picture has sufaced thanks to my Dear Adam (the Juggler). He took this when I was way too young to recall having it taken. Was this 79? or 80? I think I was 6 or 7 there...my big front teeth don't seem to quite fit yet. I loved my Hobby!!! I lived for giving flowers to Luisa during Queen's Prog. I am holding a rose and Peacock feather that I was planning on giving to Her Majesty in this photo. Those were the days!

We have the most criminal regime in all of our history wreaking unspeakable horror on the entire planet, while simultaneously waging war on the consciousness of its own citizens - US. . . .
