Gorilla Run
Now that's what fun in the bay area is all about. People in gorilla suits running in a 4 mile benefit race. I have _got_ to do this next year. I want to get a team of friends or a team from work and make gorilla suits and train. I want to cross that finish line with the same dignity with which I crossed that starting line. And I want to be in line, victorious at the end, with the other gorillas to receive my medal, my water and my banana. It is in my grasp - now I must train.

Never dull in Deadwood
The Port of Deadwood burst into flames again. Wow. Acrid smoke fills the air, the road to my work is closed. Exciting pictures though:

Fire Ballet
Went to the Crucible's Fire Ballet of Romeo and Juliet with a good friend from work. Pretty fun, especially for us effects animators I gotta say. It felt like the stage was a little small for the ballet dancers to really get fully expressive, but then again how many ballerinas can look graceful with a welding glove descending a staircase that's spewing out jets of flame. The whirling dervish was mesmerizing. And the MC, though he was not a trained actor was heartfelt and appeared in a really... read more
