Well this is a fun little site I could get behind. I don't see Thelema as a religion, but as a philosophy, and I can get behind it as a political statement. This group is asking people to write Aleister Crowley's name in on the 2012 Presidential ballot as a political statement. We could have fun with this. This is something I can commit to today, as I don't see any real political thing going on with both parties and I doubt a third party will emerge by then. (i can always change my mind).

Ah, I see, its a political statement, getting people to write in Aleister Crowley as a statement. I like it. I see thelema as a philosophy, not a religion, but I have no problem seeing the political opportunity here. In 2012, it will be the 108 year anniversary of the writing of the Book of the Law...which in Thelemic calendar is Emperor IV cycle, Universe XXI year 108. End Universal, Theocratic suffering. I'm all for it!

I am on biznik, facebook, myspace, twitter and various other metaphysical web sites that I run. I think I got on the internet about 13 years ago. I seen alot.

Well, no I don't want to work for Walmart, Subway and McDonald's, because that just doesn't cut it. From being on the radio, helping with Public Relations for Spiritual events, writing, and doing tarot readings for my clients, I know that I have more to offer to contribute to people's lives.

Is there a subtle connection between war ending and Thelemic Anniversary?

What do you think about the jubilation in the streets in Iraq? Seems the war might be over.
What about it falling on the 99th year anniversary of the writing of the Book of the Law, particularly April 9th, when Crowley channeled part 2, on Hadit, focus. Tommorrow is April 10th, which will be part 3, Ra Hoor Khuit, and that chapter talks are war and vengeance!
By the way, in the Mayan calender today is White Resonant World-Bridger, Kin 46, and tommorrow is Blue Galactic Hand, Kin 47.

[feel free to jump in and expand my point of view. I don't mind if people respectfully disagree, though I think we could expand this discussion, maybe others might add other layers of what 418 means]

Ah, you start out with the easy questions. LOL.
418 is the numerology for the House of God. This is the 16th Trump in the Tarot card, the Tower, which relates to the letter P. One could expand on the symbols of Psychopomp, Psychic, etc.

The Tower, to me, represents Chaos, and here we get into Chaos Theory in Quantum Theory and Chaos Magick.

Existentially speaking, we live in a world without meaning, chaotic, if you will. A person's meaning is found by what they intend, what they will. This is the key to magick. The number one in the number 418, can represent the Magus, the Magician in the 1st Trump. The Magician must learn to work their will, and magick is both a blessing and a curse. A disciplined Magician then becomes a Magus, and I believe the most important realization a Magus can make is that the Great Work requires much INTELLIGENCE. The magician must learn to be open to transformation themself, if they are going to transform reality. Brain change is a big part of magick.

18 is also the number of the Moon, the 18th trump in the Tarot, and there is a whole series of discussion we could have on Illusion, Glamour, and Time.

4 can symbolize the Emperor, the True Self.

4 + 1 + 8 = 13, and 13 is the Death card in the Tarot.

In fact we could see something about the Great Work in these five cards:
12 The Hanged Man
13 Death
14 Art
15 Devil
16 Tower

This is more of a shamanistic look.

Does any of this have meaning for you?

Anther aspect of God I thought of tonight, in a comment someone made about God exhalting the moral qualities that society should possess; wouldn't that make God a dictator?

I mean people make choices according to free will. Take that away and we just have a Soul Group that is no more than an insect hive. Free will and true will is important, that God/Goddess bestow on creation, so that we can freely choose to come together in a Group Mind, and with that diversity create a true House of God.

Another aspect of Chaos theory is Beauty Theory; that in all the randomness there is beauty and order of some kind.

Going back to the number 18, 1 + 8 = 9.
This is the Hermit, the seeker of the Philosopher's stone.
In the Book of the Law it says Thelema has only 3 grades, the Hermit, the Lover, the man of Earth.

On a side note, a friend of mine, Foton Fonon, Mark created something called Dream::Star, which is related to Mayan Dreamspell, though it includes five green glyphs and 17 tones (instead of 13 tones as in Dreamspell). Dreamspell has 260 kin, Dream::Star has 425. Thus, there is a Kin 418, and it is Yellow Planetary Warrior (definitely speaks of things in chapter 3, of the Book of the Law, as does Krishna's discussion with Arjuna):
"I perfect in order to question
Producing fearlessness
I seal the input of intelligence
with the planetary tone of manifestation
I am guided by the power of flowering."

This is found in the Green Joy Star Wavespell. Joy and Ecstasy are a key to Thelema, since TBOTL states that this is the nature of existence, where the old Buddhaic idea was that Sorrow was the nature of existence. A definitely switch.
(as you might grok, this shows the power of synchronicity, in a chaotic universe, that patterns can be revealed from diverse sources; I believe this is the WHOLENESS that Thelema represents on an atomic level)
