Only in Japan :)

TOKYO (AP) - Japanese are staying cool as a cucumber this summer with "Pepsi Ice Cucumber" - a new soda based on the crisp green gourd.
The soft drink, which hit stores here on Tuesday, doesn't actually have any cucumber in it - but has been artificially flavored to resemble "the refreshing taste of a fresh cucumber," said Aya Takemoto, spokeswoman of Japan's Pepsi distributor, Suntory Ltd.
"We wanted a flavor that makes people think of keeping cool in the summer heat," Takemoto said. "We thought the cucumber was just perfect."
The mint-colored soda is on sale just for the summer and only in Japan, Takemoto said. She said initial sales were brisk, and Suntory aims to sell 200,000 cases over the next three months.

Dancing in Lexington

June 11, 2006

I took an official vacation last week. But it wasn’t your typical ‘go away and relax’ vacation. I decided to travel back to Lexington, KY, for a bellydance intensive.
Now I know that most of you are thinking…Lexington??? How much bellydancing can actually exist there???
Well, on an average week there’s definitely quite a bit, but this last week was most that town has seen in quite a while. And what an amazing thing it was to see and be a part of. I still can’t believe the amount of love and laughter I gave and received in those six days. I was floating on air for two days after I got back.

Before this blog goes any further I just want to open my heart again and thank every single one of those beautiful ladies. I can’t begin to explain the utter happiness I feel every time I think about that week. You are all incredible people and dancers. I can’t wait to dance and study with you again.

I’ve been thinking lately about my dancing and my being. I am constantly looking at ways of growing. When the opportunity to study with Rachel, Mira, and Liz presented itself, I jumped on it. Especially with that opportunity taking place in the land of Mecca. If there had been any doubt about that week, it was completely erased as soon as I walked into the new studio and saw all of my beautiful ladies.

What an amazing time!!!!! Yoga, drilling, technique, and dancing. How else should one spend a vacation?? And I certainly can’t forget the laughter. It’s definitely been a long time since I’ve laughed so hard that I worked off an entire meal at the same time. And that actually happened twice!

Now the test comes…. Will I be able to continue with the yoga and drilling exercises?? Can I find the focus in the last remaining hours I have to myself every week? I really hope that I can. If only I could have Rachel, Mira, and Liz around me every week for motivation. To kick my ass as they did so well those few days.

I want to go on and on and try to explain the love and utter joy and peace in my heart that I brought back with me from that week. But there aren’t enough words. I just hope everyone out there has the chance to experience such an incredible dance/friend/life experience like that.

I love all my biddies!!!!! Thank you so much for a truly unbelievable week. My heart swells with gratitude!
