Katie Rocks!!!
June 12, 2006
stupidly, unknowingly, i challenged katie to a pole dance competition upon first meeting. that little pole shark! how dare she not warn me of her superior skills before we began? well, i guess the shame i will eternally feel at being so thoroughly bested was worth the show. that, and her winning smiles are as good as comfort food.

Even though Surprise isn't my neighbor anymore (for too long now!) she is still a super fabulous amazing chica who performs feats of bouncy smiley organization that mere mortals cringe at the thought of....
Right now she is also SUPER SURPRISE and happy all the time, being extra glowy, performing great firedancing all weekend long, doing great events nearly every day and loving life way deeply.
And she still tries to convince me that she's an introvert....
Sweetie...I thinkin that word don't mean quite what you be thinkin it do. ; )

about me
Passionate, honest, dorky, excessive, silly, weird. Sometimes I strive for greatness, and sometimes I strive for nothing. I often have trouble finding middle ground. I like to dance, skip, grin, giggle, bliss, jump, shout. . . I try to be positive, and concentrate on making the world a little better. I've decided that to be truly successful, there can't be a delineation between the personal and the professional. I guess that makes me a professional freak.
i love San Francisco. What a wonderful weekend!

I bought a hairdryer today. As I was reading the instructions, one stuck out to me as especially prescient:
“7. Never use while sleeping.”
Kind of makes me wonder if this nugget of wisdom was more of a place holder or an actual response to a customer question or issue.
Folks really, I know that some of you are daredevils who like to live on the edge, but really do try to use your hairdryer when you are actually awake.

Most of you probably already know that before I sold out to the man in September, I was the regional Public Affairs Director at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte. Although I was only in this role for a little over a year, it was and continues to be a very challenging time for the pro-choice movement. Conservative politicians with ties to Christian fundamentalists held power in the executive branch and both houses of Congress. The Supreme Court was at a critical balance with 5 justices roughly in t...

I am posting this for Baxter (check out his profile in my friend's list) who is coming to SF to teach 2 hoop workshops. I traveled to Portland to take the first workshop and it was well worth it. I begged and pleaded for him to do a second workshop, which he kindly agreed to.
These workshops are not to be missed for anyone who loves to hoop.
From Baxter:
Blessings to you, Hoop Community!
I wanted to let everyone that the Second leg of the Hoop Path Tour is set for San Francisco...
