Dearest Lindy-Loo-Love...

I saw this poem, and I thought of you:

The Best Thing in the World
by: Elizabeth Barrett Browning

What's the best thing in the world?
June-rose, by May-dew impearled;
Sweet south-wind, that means no rain;
Truth, not cruel to a friend;
Pleasure, not in haste to end;
Beauty, not self-decked and curled
Till its pride is over-plain;
Love, when, so, you're loved again.
What's the best thing in the world?
--Something out of it, I think.

I haven't known Linda for very long, but her advice has helped me to steer my way through some of the problems that were facing me at a difficult point in my life..

Sadly, I've only met her in the weird world on the other side of my computer screen, but if you're lucky enough to meet her in the real world, buy her cheesecake and chocolate and doughnuts and listen carefully to what she has to say. She's a wise woman.

Linda, my ray of sunshine.

Linda is a rose amongst the thorns. She is an effervescent, illuminating blast of colour that engulfs and transports you into a whirlwind of warmth, comfort and excitement. She is a goddess, a fighter, a champion of the weak, a blinding light, a cherub. She is my friend.

Love Always, Dina xxoo

From the moment Linda I made a connection on tribe, we become good friends. She is always there for me with kind words and great advice. We share a lot with dance and school. We have an understanding of each other. I know that we will someday meet in person.....it's just going to happen :) How could I not have this beautiful girl as my friend? Linda, thank you for being her for me and supporting me and others with your sweet and kind words. You are awesome :)

My ode to Linda......

Linda is my best friend....apparently we were seperated at birth in this lifetime and many previous lifetimes....the fact we are born in different years does not matter!!! Linda is a goddess, a fairy, a ray of sparkly sunshine, a beautiful twinkle of moonlight, a warrior, a queen, a flutter of breeze on a warm summer night. I am very grateful to have this amazing women in my world....and hope to keep passing paths in all our lifetimes......

luv,
marty

My Little World

Once again, The Washington Post has published the winning submissions
to its yearly neologism contest, in which readers are asked to supply
alternate meanings for common words.

The winners are:

1. Coffee (n.), the person upon whom one coughs.

2. Flabbergasted (adj.), appalled over how much weight you have gained.

3. Abdicate (v.), to give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.

4. Esplanade (v.), to attempt an explanation while drunk.

5. Willy-nilly (adj.), impotent.

Its almost here...a whole new, Gregorian calendar year in which to count down, look forward to, say goodbye to and dread the onset of a whole new set of dates and milestones.

There's something that smells so good about a New Year, and it definitely isn't the pong of the New Year's Eve party residue on the carpet. I think its the idea that there are 365 days ahead filled with pure potential, a tabula rasa of time. Days set before us like snow that no one has stepped in or marked and they ... read more

This weekend was so amazing. It was so hard on the ass and armpits...so lengthening for the hamstrings...so full of growth for my soul and my dance and so full of inspiration for my heart.

Rachel is just so giving as a teacher. She disarms you with her humour and makes you feel like you have been coffee buddies for most of your life. She teaches and encourages, doesn't judge and pushes at the same time...she is so worth the body pain!

I don't know if I will ever live down my "helpful... read more

Winter Wonderland on the mountain and snow has arrived.

Chaos on the roads. Snow seems to strike fear into the hearts of Vancouverites, but they attempt to drive at 80km/hr ANYWAY and assume that their ABS and 4 wheel drive vehicles will make the necessary adjustments for them.

It makes me want to camp up here for the duration of the semester; find a warm corner with my hot chocolate and books and become a bellydancing, nerdy yeti.
