I'm BACK!

Well I hope I am anyhow. It has been months since I was able to get Tribe to do anything other than tell me to sign in every time I tried to click anything on the site!

What's happened since my last post?

1. ALL of my classes and private lessons are now at Fierce. Fitness by Design. 1806 Frankfort Ave.

This is giving me a chance to offer a more well-rounded curriculum of classes including (but not limited to):
Belly Dance Basics I
Belly Dance Basics II
Intermediate and Advanced Technique
Gothic Belly Dance
Zills in Space!
Choreography for Beginners
Work Your Rhythm
And much, much more!

In addition to my classes, Fierce also offers an array of fitness classes as well as personal training services. It's one of the most beautiful and creative studios I've ever seen and I'm exited to be there!

So far I've had wonderful students, both new and repeat, join me for these classes. And we've been having a BLAST!

2. Asrar Al Badra is going strong! We've added a new member to our ranks and are working hard on new choreography as well as with a local drummer to bring LIVE rhythms to our performances. You'll be able to see some of us at the Halloween Trolley hop, October 30th at Fierce!

3. I'm currently booking for 2010 workshops!

This year proved to be my best year yet for workshops with appearances at Kira's Oasis in Centerville, OH as well as Lafayette, IN, Beckley, WV and Gothalyptic (which was EVEN bigger and better than last year). Since last year my workshops have consistently had 25+ attendees and I'm looking forward to sharing the dance I love with even more people!

It's time to look to the future and book for 2010! If you're wanting to summon me to your town to teach Egyptian, Gothic, technique, combinations or...? just send me an e-mail at talethadance@yahoo.com.

4. Introducing...a manager?

That's right! I now have someone to help me manage my dance business! Jeremy Atkins is currently only booking performances for me, but may also take on workshop bookings as well. He will also be helping me with event planning, assuring performance conditions are up to par for myself and the troupe, running sound and providing sound equipment when needed.

Finally I can unload some of this non-artist stuff!

To contact Jeremy directly with questions and booking inquiries, please e-mail him at eternal_evolution@msn.com and all of my lovely dance friends will most likely meet him in the coming year.

5. Persian dance is making an appearance!

On November 14th I'm set to perform Persian dance for the FIRST time in a public setting in Louisville with il Troubadore. We did a similar program not long ago in Indianapolis. It was so well received and we enjoyed ourselves so much, we decided to do it again.

So, if you're interested in seeing 100% improvisational Persian Classical dance set to authentic live Persian music. Come to Road to Morocco on November 14th. The show is from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $10 and this is open to ALL AGES!

I'm hoping this one goes through and that Tribe will stop acting up and let me post here more often!

Thanks!

May 2nd - West Virginia Bound!

May 2nd I will be embarking on an epic journey to West Virginia! Well...if you saw the weather we had to drive through to get their last year (for THE Jim Boz!), you'd understand the epic part! Only this time, I'll be teaching the workshop! YAY! W00T!

Here's the info. *Up there in the image.*

My lovely host recently had to move this to a larger venue. I'm excited! And excited!

I'll be teaching Goth vs. Egyptian how are they different and more importantly..how are they similar? I'm hoping this workshop will offer a little bit of something for everyone from the hard core Egyptian style dancer to the breakin' the law fusion style dancer.

Excited!!

Wise Words

"And if there come the singers and the dancers and the flute players, - buy of their gifts also.
For they too are gatherers of fruit and frankincense, and that which they bring, though fashioned of dreams, is raiment and food for your soul. "

Khalil Gibran
