about me
My name is Oberyn.
I would know myself in all my parts: I'm polyamorous, Pagan, queer, kinky, weird, shy, silly, thoughtful and curious. I am in love with the world, a champion of real beauty, and fascinated by humanity. I'm a Dreamer. I have a primary partner, a woman, and am looking to meet queer men for friendship and dating. Suffice to say, not commitment-phobic. I'm a Witch working in the Feri tradition, and have a strong spiritual practice that forms the core of my life. I also practice Zen and Vajrayana Buddhism, Left-Hand tantra, and study alchemical Toaism. I live by principles of autonomy: liberty and responsibility, and seek to be fully present and self-possessed. My experience is that the Universe is not a place of scarcity, but of abundance. Truth is beauty, and Love is the Law. I get a lot of joy from sharing this part of my life with other dedicated practitioners. I'm also a budding Radical Faerie. As far as politics go, I try to stay informed about what's going on in my world. I'm an anarchist at heart, but usually vote from a socialist perspective. I'm a big social justice advocate, a political "radical" (as it were), and pretty darn interested in alternative, holistic modalities and intentional community. I try to be up-to-date about queer politics in general, and am involved in the Bay Area scene. I suspect we are living in what will be great moments in history, and I intend to help make an impact to create change. Art and music are very important to me (always listening to my favorites and checking out new stuff: Pandora rocks!), and artists and creative types are super sexy. Most of the guys I've dated are musicians or visual artists of some sort. I'm a poet, and you can sometimes find me at the Berkeley Slam. I have been mostly writing ritual liturgy lately, but have a dozen half-finished personal pieces strewn about. I attended music school early on in college, so I can geek out in that arena. I was in the marching band and drum corps, so a lot of my teenage socialization was through those mediums. At this point I'm terribly out of practice, but play several instruments and can carry a tune. Currently learning the folk harp. I think and read a bunch; I studied philosophy, critical theory, and social psychology in college. I'm a huge queer and feminist theory nut, and love looking at the intersections of identities. I tend to value highly people who have a critical understanding of their opinions and positions. I love being in the kitchen trying new things (especially with my nonna's recipes at hand) or going out in the Bay Area to experience yummy food. Really pleased to be living in a place with such a great variety. I really enjoy sharing a good meal with friends and ideally I'd love to be hosting occasional dinner parties. I'm usually working on two or three books, and like discussing critical theory, literature, culture, mythology, and occult ideas. I'm uber-fascinated by consciousness and perception and the relationship they have to identity. I've got a lot of irons in the fire, a handful of goals and lots of passion and drive. Life is a banquet, enjoy! I'm involved in several projects within my spiritual community, including forming an intentional group house and a project to take care of elders. Also very interested in the marriage of Feri tradition magic and Radical Faerie community. I'm also in the process of forming a non-profit with a friend that gives service to the GLBT youth in the SF Bay Area. Right now I work as a pet services contractor for a company that specializes in parrots and special-needs dogs. I tend to be, as I've seen it put, a LIFE/job person as opposed to a CAREER/life person. I'm looking to get back into a regular yoga practice (most likely Kripalu) and eager to study aikido and Qigong. Always seeking out new experiences, and friendly people to share them with! Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be? We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

Can you look in the mirror and be honest about what you see? Can you hug the ugly things in the cellar? Are you genuinely curious about who and what you are? Do you see the journey as an adventurous treasure hunt, or are you afraid to dig inside yourself?
