The Muse

My raison d'etre for dancing has always been the music. Over the last few years, I've had a wonderful opportunity to perform regularly, but something has been missing.

I NEED to dance to live music - Arabic (style) musicians playing the classics, all of us playing off of, and to, each other, creating something more than just a dance performance...Through the years I've had a few experiences, but not nearly enough to satisfy the hunger.

The problem is this city where I live is a large city, but is very short on musicians who are willing or able to collaborate with local dancers, nor does our Arab community support live music venues.

What to do? There is a void that I must fill...

The reason for my music is the dancers. :-) I play tabla, back up or lead. To back up Carmine would be an honor. To play in an ensemble with dancers would be WAY fun!

Life music at Kismet
Kismet has had live music performances at several of the last shows. Talk with them and get in touch with the band that played the November show .... Wind and Fingers or something like that. They were very good. They performed with Isis at the Faire for a while. Maybe they would be interested in collaboration?
Unsu...
