With the corner of my eye I saw the candle scooting over and falling off the table. I was focusing on writing and it took me a second to register the anomaly I had just seen. A big candle on a foot-long metal pedestal sliding and dropping off the table with no discernible cause while I'm sitting there alone typing. Bizarre.
