MUNI Budget Accountability PRESS CONFERENCE

Friends and allies,

This Wednesday, May 3 at 12:30 on the steps of City Hall, come join
Supervisors Chris Daly, Ross Mirkarimi, the Bike Coalition, Walk SF,
Coalition for Transit Justice, Transportation for a Livable City, the
Tenant's Union, Senior Action Network, the Sierra Club, and a bunch of
other folks to fight to make sure there's no more fare hikes or
service cuts for Muni!

You all remember the battle against fare hikes and service cuts last
year. This year, the MTA's budget avoids hikes or cuts, but doesn't
seek any new sources of revenue to make sure fares don't keep rising
and Muni lines don't keep getting cut. This needs to change!

Following the rally at 12:30, the Budget and Finance Committee will
address the MTA's budget. We're asking the Committee to tell the MTA
to start seeking progressive sources of revenue NOW to ensure there's
transit justice for San Francisco's future.

Let's make sure the MTA budget is no longer balanced on the backs of
low-income people, communities of color, disabled people, seniors, and
youth!
