O andarilho - Nietzche
O ANDARILHO – Quem chegou, ainda que apenas em certa medida, à liberdade da razão, não pode sentir-se sobre a Terra senão como andarilho – embora não como viajante em direção a um alvo último: pois este não há. Mas bem que ele quer ver e ter os olhos abertos para tudo o que propriamente se passa no mundo; por isso não pode prender seu coração com demasiada firmeza a nada de singular; tem que haver nele próprio algo de errante, que encontra sua alegria na mudança e na transitoriedade. Sem dúvida sobrevêm a um tal homem noites más, em que ele está cansado e encontra fechada a porta da cidade que deveria oferecer-lhe pousada; talvez, alem disso, como, como no Oriente, o deserto chegue até a porta, os animais de presa uivem ora mais longe, ora mais perto, um vento mais forte se levante, ladrões lhe levem embora seus animais de tiro. É então que cai para ele a noite pavorosa, como um segundo deserto sobre o deserto, e seu coração se cansa da andança. Se então surge para ele o sol da manhã, incandescente como uma divindade da ira, se a cidade se abre, ele vê nos rostos dos quais aqui moram, talvez ainda mais deserto, sujeira, engano, insegurança, do que fora das portas – e o dia é quase pior que a noite. Bem pode ser que isso aconteça às vezes ao andarilho. Mas então vêm, como recompensa, as deliciosas manhãs de outras regiões e dias, em que já no alvorecer da luz, ele vê, na névoa da montanha, os enxames de musas passarem dançando perto de si, em que mais tarde, quando ele, tranqüilo, no equilíbrio da alma de antes do meio-dia, passeia entre árvores, lhe são atiradas de suas frondes e dos recessos da folhagem somente coisas boas e claras, os presentes de todos aqueles espíritos livres, que na montanha, floresta e solidão estão em casa e que, iguais a ele, em sua maneira ora gaiata ora meditativa, são andarilhos e filósofos. Nascidos dos segredos da manhã, meditam sobre como pode o dia, entre a décima e a décima segunda badalada, ter um rosto tão puro, translúcido, transfiguradamente sereno: - buscam a filosofia de antes do meio dia.
