sustainability community

I was just listening to Kboo a great local community radio station here in Portland and they where interviewing a guy that owned 80 acres and was running a sustainability farm and had opened up there land for people to come in and learn how to live in harmony with our earth and to farm and live simple. I think this idea is so great Mike and I have talked about wanting to buy property and start an eco type farm center where we would teach organic gardening based on the permaculture idea as well as a healing center so I was really excited to hear about an example of a working and successful community.
It also seems like more people are starting to move towards sustainable life styles such as biking more, public transit, gardening and feeling more empowered to stand up for injustices. So as much as the world is defiantly still in a strange place with all the war and economy I feel an odd sense of hopefullness!
What do you guys think of the general energy of your world.
( Im on vicodin just had 2 teeth pulled I hope this makes sense.)

I'm right there with ya!
We just bought a smallish chunk of property (1/4 acre) and are going to be growing all of our own organic produce. The orchard is already in and the beds are tilled. Some stuff is already planted. We also have chickens that we pasture daily when it's not a torrential downpour for eggs and plan on growing our own turkeys for meat . Our future hopes are to eventually have a farm at some point.

Sorry, that's raising, not "growing" turkeys. LOL. They aren't plants!

sounds great
I have always taken public transit and biked. But getting some land and creating sustainability for your community is a gorgeous idea and definitely something I have wanted over the years.
Good luck!
