Blue Electric Night

I activate in order to dream,
Bonding intuition.
I seal the input of abundance
With the electric tone of service.
I am guided by the power of accomplishment.

Red Eastern Castle of Turning –Court of birth, power of entering

Blue Root Race - The transformers. Key note: abundance

Earth family: Blue Night, Yellow Star, Red Skywalker, White Mirror

SignalKin –Unravel the mystery Solar-plexus receive

Fire Clan - Yellow Chromatic

Tone: 3, Note: D, Name: Electric, Function: Activation

Born in the Wavespell of Red Dragon in the Year Yellow Seed

Blue Night –Dreams Abundance *

When operating in the light of energy, the positive aspects are: Dreamfield Matrix, Mystery, Void, Sanctuary, 'Looks within' place, Home, Security, Organise, Journey into Self

Shadows
When operating in the shadow of energy, typical symptoms are: Depression, Self Judgement, Fear of Change, Viewpoint too internal and subjective. Insecurity.

Transformation
To come out of the shadow: Ask yourself why you judge and condemn yourself so harshly. Be willing to follow your Inner shadow processes in order to learn from their Gifts. Make your Heart a sanctuary and Self Love your security.

Life Question: How can I best be of service?

Eerily accurate in the most obvious interpretation of some of this stuff. Bordering on 'right on the money' in most places. Only one or two things seem out of place, but hey, who's to say some force in the universe isn't causing me to see things improperly?

Peace,

T

about me
My name's Tom. I'm a full-time tattooer, single, no kids. Part-time student, painting and sculpting at Humboldt State University (I like the place enough that I don't want to leave!!!). I read a LOT, and listen to music as the soundtrack to my life. I paint every day, mostly in oil, but sometimes in watercolors. I do sculpture in ceramics and bronze(!!!).

I transferred as a Junior to Humboldt State University and have been here since July of 2004. I have two majors- Studio Art (Painting) and Art History, with an Anthropology minor (Physical/Paleo focus), so I'm pretty busy here at school, although I take time to enjoy life, the people in it, and to go for a walk in the redwoods at least once a week. Officially finished with my BA requirements for both Studio Art and Art History, but I've put official graduation off until the fall, since I don't want to give up the studio space I have as part of the Honors Painting program at Humboldt State.

I've been working in the sculpture lab this last year, making slip-casting molds, sculpting in concrete (over Styrofoam and wire armatures- all styrofoam is waste that would otherwise have gone in a land-fill). This last semester however, I've been working in welded steel and cast bronze- the mold I built for casting in porcelain slip is also usable for casting wax models for the bronze-casting process ("lost-wax"). I've been working with the same form I've hand-built in clay in the past (looks a bit like the Venus of Willendorf), and I've poured 9 pieces which will be part of a large single "sculpture". The bronze is wonderful to work with, but it's a dirty, time-consuming job, and it's taken a LOT of what little spare time I have to get these things poured, detailed, and whatnot, and to apply the various patinas I want on them- from what I think of as "ancient artifact green", which is a cupric-oxide patina, to chocolate brown like Art Nouveau Tiffany lamps and sculpture, put on with a torch and a solution of "liver of sulfur".

I LOVE Humboldt due to north coast wilderness close by, and the people actually seem to understand the concept of Peace. I lived up by Yosemite for most of the 90s. I am a practicing Pagan/Heathen, follow no dogma or doctrine, have a shamanic practice, and teach some meditation, guided meditation, and various aspects of spirituality practice. There's also an amazing percentage of the population here who are intelligent, spiritual, compassionate, environmentally aware AND conscientious (unlike the rest of the world I know where most of that is mere window-dressing for self-absorbed materialism). I don't ever want to leave.

Well, I've posted some new pics. A few of tattoos I've done at my new job tattooing in Eureka, and a bunch of paintings I've done that will likely be in my show at next Arts Alive in Eureka (December 2 at Sacred Palace, 5th St. between F and G). Enjoy.

Well, I've finally finished the painting of Kira that I started WAY back in early on August 23. Progression from August until now is shown in a series of pics in my photo album here.

I'll begin work on the next painting in this series soon, but not for school. I'll be working on who knows what there, and will work on my big paintings at home, I think.

I might even try painting in acrylic for a while, and paint MUCH smaller (I have no place to store paintings that are 7' wide!).

Peace... read more

What is there to say about Tom. He is one of the most inspirational people I know. He gives my brain a run for it's money which is vastly refreshing. There's no one better to trade a barb with, drift off into historical and anthropological tangents only to come back to the kinds of experiences that reach bone and blood deep.

If you are lucky enough to be gifted one of his tomes be prepared to sink luxuriously into words crafted as well or better than many a wordsmith I've known. If you get even luckier to speak to him in person - treasure each and every second because you are in the company of a truly phenomenal man. I am extremely privileged to know him.

Arcata Earthdance Love Camp 2006

We're going to make this year's camp the best camp possible.

Anyone participating is encouraged to begin collecting supplies and accoutraments for making our camp a home.
If you have an EZ-up picnic pavillion or two that you want to bring to the cause, we'll gladly make the best of them.
We can always use large, waterproof tarps, bungee cords, duct tape, and 8' tent poles (1" aluminum or PVC conduit work well).
We hope to built a temple to house our shrine/altar. Rugs, drapes, wall-hangings, and tapestries needed.
We will be outfitting a kitchen, lounge space, and.........
We'll even have our own bathroom! No more walking half a mile at 6AM to find a porta-potty!

September 15, 16, and 17, 2006, Laytonville, California

Be there!
