If you have met her, you already know... Lecca is the studio cat at Mecca.

she has her own tribe even- http://tribes.tribe.net/lecca

last night Lecca did one of her blessing routines at the end of class. it always amazes and delights me how coherent and in tune with the daily activities of the studio that Lecca is. At the beginning of class she typically makes her appearance and issues greetings to familiar faces as well as introduces herself to all new comers to the space. Shortly after warm ups, she may go off and do her thang elsewhere, but almost always returns for the end of class.
last night at the end of
the last class we went through salutation and Lecca very dutifully walked the circle making sure to brush up against each dancer as she went along. she didn't leave out a single one.
she definitely knows her role well and carries it out with the all the grace a sweet potato kitty on toothpicks can muster!!

instructors: David Pailet and sri TaraSita

okay, so I'm really excited to be venturing into this combined workshop idea with David Pailet. I truly believe this will be an intense experience. the idea is that we will be basically tag teaming the workshop moving through sections of vigorous yoga forms as well as flow style yoga forms and belly dance. David shares the same sense of improvisation that I do, so I think we will work well off each other. I think this workshop will do well to open up much creatively and spiritually as well as physically within each dancer.

Burning Down The House-: An Invitation to Coffee

let me just say that after potentially burning the house down... i can't stress the importance of stainless steel pots and pans and coffee pots on the stove.

yep, went to reheat my morning coffee and walked off and forgot it.. left the house, taught a private lesson, you know you saw me at mecca. all that time my coffee pot was still on the stove burning away. when i got home later that day i arrived to a smoky house greeted by my cats and i knew immediately what i had done. oh shit!! i ran back to the kitchen where the coffee pot was pretty black but not in flames, turned off the stove, sighed with relief and proceeded to apologize to each of my cats.

so glad it wasn't an aluminum coffee pot.

so now i have replaced that coffee pot with another stainless steel stovetop espresso pot. this one is the party pot, making 9 cups of espresso at a time!! whoo hoo! (home goods didn't have a smaller one in stainless steel)

so, come on over for some coffee, i'll try not to burn it.

...ah the gourmet delicacies for which i indulge, the morning appetizers. let me just 'splain a few of the delicious combinations... coffee is essential to these combinations. i prefer mine black. i do not know to what extend the enjoyment of these combinations will be altered by the additions of cream and sugar and/or honey.
    1. cheesy poof and coffee!!- this combo is a very happy satisfying combination. let me just prefice that generally i prefer the baked cheesy poof poofs to the shriveled curly fried variety, but in this combination, i must say, go for the shriveled, mangled looking fried cheetos. i dunno why, they's just better with coffee.
    2. this morning, the cats and i indulge in pizza flavored goldfish and honey wheat pretzel twists with peanut butter and coffee. ah, yes.. it's the simple things. Stinky prefers to sample the goldfish, whereas Sparkle is more of a peanut butter fan. Ducky is content to bat a broked pretzel twist around the floor until he's worn it down enough to eat it.
Eventually today, we'll all have a real meal.

Harmony balanced in Earth, Heaven and Man.... After an exhausting weekend, wonderfully peaceful contemplative moment/s.. stopping to consider the curve of a stem, the role of a plant in nature ... creating something that is balanced is such a relief.. so rare are the moments when all things feel balanced.

Dining at Chez Stinky

everyday...everyday.... stinky somehow manages to eat his food too fast or something and then shortly afterwards throws it all up to the delight of Ducky. ducky feasts on the partially digested cat chow, cause it's like mama would have made.

the upside is that i have less piles of cat puke to clean up. the downside is that ducky gets so excited when stinky is about to blow that he stands under him rubbing up against him waiting for the fountain of goodness, which means sometimes he gets a little fountain on his head.

what did you all have for breakfast this morning?!

...it was a beautiful bright blue day.. the peoples had left the house..all was quiet but the pleasant hum of the celing fans. at first i just lay on my favorite chair content to lick, clean, and sleep... but there was an uneasiness gnawling at me.. what was it...hmmm, i seem to recall that girl who hangs out in my house sometimes had something, something i wanted, something i craved...ah yes, a bag of those orange dusty dairy curls.. i love those things.. where are they? i must find them and possess them immediately.. a short journey through the house unearthed great treasure. the bag was nesteled inside another on the kitchen table. i journeyed to the top of the table in one graceful swoop. my roommates, Stinky and Rahoolio, where impressed with my vertical leap and watched with wide stares from the floor below.. i laughed,"hey guys, check it out... there's B E E R up here!!" i return my attention to the bag of orange dusty dairy curls..ripping into a bag takes patient and alot of determination, along with teeth and great pawing action... paw paw, dig, gnawl and voila! the curls are FREE FREE i tell ya...i whip myself around to flash my orange dusted smile of success to those poor saps below on the floor. "yeah, that's right i'm eating these cheesy poofs, guys... and check this out, i'm gonna drink this B E E R too!" i examine the container that holds what's sure to be nectar of the gods for the name of this beverage is La Fin Du Monde... this vessel has a cork.. i have yet to master a cork except to bat it around on the floor, but i'm sure this cork is the key to unleashing of this nectar. ...... TUNE IN NEXT TIME FOR THE CONCLUSION TO THIS NAIL BITING SUSPENSE THRILLER!!!
