The Wise and the Foolish

   Fri, March 14, 2008 - 3:49 PM
Sitting alone in a Noisy tavern
A Tiny leather bound book almost hidden in his large hand
As those around him play the modern version of the old Barn Yard Dance
He sips his wine and reads prose of his own creation
Hearing the Macho Idiot at the next table
Speak unkindly to his waitress makes him sad
As she passes him she gives him a knowing smile and rolls her eyes
He relaxes knowing she is more than a match for that Fop
As the music fades he can clearly hear the fool say to his companions
“Why can’t I get a girl like that to go out with me?”
He is tempted to turn and tell him exactly why, but thinks better of it
As the fellows ego would never allow him to truly listen
With a sigh he picks up his pen and begins to write

sometimes I think people forget how to be kind. Kindness and sincerity goes along way in my book.
