Please Help The Gossamer Court Help Others

Many Blessings, Please pass this on to anyone who might help. The Gossamer Court remains a group of spiritually inspired artists, devoted to healing through art. We help many due to the generosity of the few, the very few. Normally at this time of year I am inclined and able to give gifts, whatever we have, instruments, cash, promoting not for profits and requesting funds for them, for other more established groups. This has been at the expense of our meager treasury. People rarely ask what we need and that does get old, as our work is important too. This year it is The Gossamer Court that needs your help, badly. A young life may depend on it and that is no joke. His family put him out on the curb because he is bisexual and has been struggling on the streets, where he really does not belong, ever since. He worked with us on the festival, spun poi and made allot of us laugh. The kid very honest and magical too. We are going to set up an Indigo network for our displaced and cast aside siblings, which is what Dustin is. The first stone in the foundation is this 18 year old burner named Dustin, a street kid who found us at Fringe in NOLA. We are bringing him to the NYC area from The Big Easy. I am taking him under my wing, seeing if he likes the CoSM Sanctuary energy, which I am inclined to believe shall make him very happy. He is most surely a reflection of me, from a time gone by, right down to being somewhat profane in that sailor comedic sense. This is one time I could not say no, as I can see great potential within him. I need to get back to the maternal and the healthy, fulfilling my purpose with The Indigo, our fellow pagans, as well as the GLBT community. I had to push myself to near death in NOLA in order to get the answers from the gods, so that I might live and serve. That service remains until some draw our last breath. We are going to need some help, clothing advice etc. He is a bit on the lean side, medium sized shirts. I will take all week writing to individuals, as this is the season, no? Video; Shamanic Avant Garde Jam

A fair amount of work we are doing now, when the artists of The Gossamer Court gather, is shaman soul, vocal, mystic, avant garde and very trance in nature. After seeing Laurie Anderson and Marc Ribot playing some pretty awesome avant garde music at John Zorn’s some time back, I began to ponder about seriously getting back into music, as opposed to just spoken word and poetry. Of course, magically speaking the shift in energy takes a bit of adjustment. Many outside the circle do not hear us and those inside the circle, many coming from a dogmatic shamanism won't, because they do not think that melodic instruments should mix into the fabric of the alchemical fire. Our community has it's fundamentalists too, which is why, at Jordan's suggestion, we will call our fires, those of The Gossamer Court, Alche-melodic Fires. The one we had at Starwood this year was magnif-u-lous! It showed us a new model to work with, and with all the muck, mud and rain. This video was shot on the Saturday in our home in Bergenfield, NJ before my forty-ninth birthday. If there are others out there, who are interested in this sort of shamanic jam, other throat singers, string players, we keep an open door policy in our home for beautiful, spiritual and magickal jams such as this. Some of you may recognize my dear friend SKTHOTH, the movie on his life, having won the Oscar for best short documentary in 2002. You can google it on video under THOTH, who is also a big fan of Laurie's. You can find the maestro and his protege Lila 'Angelique performing in Central Park, near the Bethesda statue in the tunnel several days out of the week. Watching and listening to artists like Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Peter Gabriel etc.. has had a profound influence on the way that this shaman delivers the magick. As so many fires and jam sessions that we are a part of end up with this kind of musical alchemy, it is something that we are all anxious to explore even further. Plural Relationships And Ethics

I will grant that in this society based on the morality of the Tribes of Abraham, the ethics of a Neo Pagan Shaman such as myself might seem immoral to some, but with all due respect they do not walk in my shoes nor do they have the burdens that many in my circle carry. We are a very different type of soul as Neo-Pagans and even more so if one is an Indigo as well. Some of us, if not most remain monogamous, as with my dear friends Chrissie and Steve. They are adorable belong together as a closed sacred number one. Some are chaste as with two of my friends, one a guru, one a priest, while others are very selective pluralists like myself. This life for me is not about an acquisition of numbers. Sex with the absence of degrees of love, even fondness and affection is an empty chamber for the heart to bear. As in the words of Robert A. Heinlein: 'Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own.' While we might have other ideas of that which is best for us, we are supposed to be tolerant and a accepting of others with a different approach to matters of the heart, as long as no harm is intended. I shall add this though to make one of my positions very clear, as I am a big ole mama bear with my protection of the children, many who love and respect me, protecting them being a sacred duty. Children are for children, adults for adults, with very few cultural exceptions for a reason. Humankind is not served well in its damage of the young. They do not need adult bullshit and other issues, such as shame and guilt. If they do not have it themselves, society will try to chain them with it after the act. The victimized child suffers, in some cases for life and that suffering is contagious. There is great difference between love in an ethical state and the corruption of children, the dehumanizing of others making objects of them just because they are pretty to look at. Many of us have seen too much of this in the “so-called” normal world where good ethics are sacrificed for the sake of Narcissism and pleasure seeking outside of a good ethical compass. While we do have our drama but the philosophy many of us live by and most of us should aspire to, is to healing and not harming. We all have common ground within the Neo-Pagan community and the affiliated tribes. Let “Tho’ it harm none” be first and foremost. This is an area that we should all unify on. Neo-Pagan unity. ..... we’re meant to lead lives filled with joy, love, pleasure, beauty and humor. Isaac Bonewits Laughter in love is a great component for success in a relationship, this and joy. Have fun for The Apocalypse is around the corner. In actuality death is our own personal apocalypse. In the Greek it means the unveiling where all is known to all. Life is a gift to angelic beings, so that they might experience the wounding of love upon tender heart in human form. There is always time for heartbreak, drama and bitching but, imaginary friend here tells me that there is never enough time for joy and laughter. My problem with a few of my Socratic shaman peers is that there is no focus joy in ritual. Perhaps this is because of their own pain and suffering, the inability to let it go, control issues or just an inability to experience joy in their own heart, by allowing the stick to remain in their bum through the spiritual surgery that joy brings. False smiles are not joyful smiles. For me not to have laughter and joy in this life is to exist and not live. I encourage one and all to live and love well thus feasting on each and every moment though it would be your last. Much of my personal philosophy and spirituality dwells in the laughter of joyful hearts and cheerful beings, those courageous individuals whom roll with the punches and remain brave and courageous regardless of the pain that life renders us. It is the responsibility of the individual to seek, pursue and find their own happiness, with consideration for others, of course, while detaching themselves from the wagging tongue of the uninvited or unsolicited judge, like those who would judge one who has the capacity of heart to love more than one at the same time. Those of us who are pluralists or poly-amorous must respect the values of those who are not with us, if our liberty and freedom is to be respected. While my character forbids me to hide, I do not need to push. It happens but my intent is to educate and address those who are struggling to find their truth. With that said, just because I am being honest about who this being is and how this life is for me does not mean it’s being thrown in anyone’s face. Moralists in need of ethics love to lie, as they proclaim those of us likeminded free spirits, those they are trying to convert, to be perverted and corrupt. We, unlike they, seek no converts. I do not want Sara Palin in my life. How about you? We have to protect ourselves and those whom we love from those who would seek to take our choices, freedom and experience-seeking from us. In some cases “discretion is the better part of valor” but more often it is a way of not being persecuted or discriminated against. As long as the involved parties in a plural relationship are open and honest with one another, living perfect love and perfect trust, it really no one’s business what you do. I have a great deal of respect for those who take things cautiously and quietly. As a spiritual leader, with many eyes on me, some being tyrannical even hateful and filled, discretion with regard to concealing who I am, would appear dishonest and disingenuous. Lies are luxury’s not easily born by some because living with dishonesty is painful. With this said; There are two people in my life whom I love very much, one a beautiful man, the other a beautiful woman. Both are extraordinary in their own right, creatively, intellectually and spiritually. We keep no secrets when it comes to who is with whom and there is an understanding. Everyone has their own boundaries and limitations. Honesty with regard to such matters allows for intimacy. My imagination would be greatly taxed to think of life without either of them and it would sadden me greatly to lose either one of them. For those who have underestimated me, usually folks outside of the loop; What business do you have in putting chains and limitations upon me? Sexually liberated, emancipated and awakening beings do not belong in boxes that some Freudian egg head created. Carl Jung has it right when he says "That which we are, we are, and if we are ever to be any better, now is the time to begin." Diamonds in the rough all need polish and attention. We all have room to grow in this gift of life. ... Even our bodies continue to grow in places once the ghost is given up. Perhaps the true realm of the ethical, by the standards of society anyway is that of the UN-sane. Spiritual people who do things contrary to trend or dogma are looked upon as insane or evil. Speaking for me neither is the case. Shaman Mowgali is not crazy to live with the ethics of kind animals and barbarians who assimilate because they understand the importance of co-existence. Morality for the sake of dogma does not strike me as all that honest. It never has. Morality is something we are all taught on the external but good ethics, with a little direction, come from within when fostered and nurtured in a loving environment. I keep very good company in this life, which was not always the case, thus my personal ethics suffered, thus the importance of tribe. And in my case, a few who are close enough to me, not only have my approval but my request to tell me when I am showing my metaphorical ass. The foundation of the ethics that my heart strives to live by comes from a very unlikely place, at least in the minds of some. I know other traditions have this. My ears first heard this in a Buddhist temple, where they read the very Eastern Aura-ed Sermon on the Mount and some other Red letter Jesus jive. Jesus Christ “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” I draw pleasure from giving and helping others to heal. In this I have found my happiness and purpose. NAMASTE, The Faery King

My normal ability to go on and on with articulation about an experience has been suspended, for now, by a very grateful heart and that gratitude for those we shared sixteen days of muddy bliss with, shall be never ending. Mudwood therefore holds a tender place in my spirit. While water is a lovely element, we tend to move faster than when the ground is dry and the sun is out. Perhaps the universe was trying to allow us to forge stronger bonds by slowing us down a little, making the experience a little more challenging. If that was the purpose, it was accomplished. Favorite Starwood Moment

Moments that have inspired poetry in me certainly rate at the top of the memories list. Starwood is an inspired poet’s dream. Count Logan and his beautiful lady had come over from Paris to be with Jordan and me for just two days and nights of Starwood, because they had to return to France for school. Both Jah-d and Logan have studied dombek with Raquy Danziger independent of one another and now they had never had a chance to drum together, so we went to Raphael’s fire the evening after our hand fasting. Toward the end of the belly dance fire, it was only Raphael and us. In between playing, as the music would start and stop. Logan and Jackie were exchanging beautiful words to one another in French, which got Jordan and I going a bit with our language skills. As Jordan’s grandmother is a fine French lady and French was one of the languages of my youth. I began to ponder just how universal the language and Beings of Mother Starwood are. In the middle of the dialog one could only laugh, as I later explained, because it was a bit like being in a beautiful French fantasy film. Raphael called out; “Who are the last to leave the fire?” to which one of our small group replied The Faery King and his party. Raphael repeated this and it sounded so perfect, so beautiful. Starwood is one party no one ever wants to leave. Holding hands, walking, hugging, smiling without concern for the possibility of crass, crude and bigoted comments, as one might get in the mundane world (not that Jordan and I pay this much mind anyway, unless confronted) Jordan and I inhaled the moment, it’s pristine beauty and feelings of great love. As we walked we noticed the beauty of twilight, embers flying up and out of The Roundhouse, up to the heavens, hearing the magnificent drum beats, some of those drums telling us who was playing them, with glow poi spinners fading in the distance, in the backdrop of Prometheus’s beautiful screens, we began to hear something else in the distance, keeping time with the beautiful percussion cacophony of our beloved roundhouse; It was DJ Visitor playing Pink Floyd’s “Wish you were here” and it all jived perfectly, keeping rhythm with what was coming out of the roundhouse. Prince Jah-d and I stopped, taking it all in. Just before we kissed under falling stars, I squeezed my partners hand and said; “This is what I live for because it makes any and all suffering worth the pain.” Love, this heavenly malady, is the Tai Chi of agony and bliss. What beauty abounds this Starwood night, angels in love jumping from mountaintops, not knowing or caring, if they have the wings to fly. Now, after experiencing such a blissful night, beautiful sounds and cosmic sights, I could have laid my head down, satisfied, slipping into the blanket of death, with a smile, no regrets, knowing in my heart for eternity that few will ever, in love, fly so high, ah, how love, pain begets, in the pursuit of happiness most never rest, Still counting those blessings, finding each other on our way Home, wrapped in hand union, sanctified before our friends, in a state of love that has made us whole, on Starwood’s sacred ground, a place, where those who feel lost are truly found… NAMASTE, The Faery King PS; Sometimes it’s more like a groovy Muppet movie… It is near time children, when the drums do beat, dancers move their feet and the bonfire rages, Starwood, a heavenly place where old and new friends do meet. the faery king

The Great Fire Seal of The Gossamer Court New Draft

No later than this Thursday you can check http://thefaeryking.livejournal.com for the final schedule of Gossamer Court events, as well as those that we support, like two recipients of The Gossamer Court Peace Awards this year, Liron Peled and Raquy Danziger of Raquy and the Cavemen, with particular attention ro the alchemic fire. Photos and links to past fires and events that The Gossamer Court has produced and/or co-produced, like Alex Grey’s CoSM Fire, Ecstatic Voices The HOWL Festival in NYC, The River Fire Festival in Providence, RI. We have been blessed to work with, among others, mz imani, a great soul and a wonderful shaman. Many have in our fold. Our efforts have included Alex Grey’s CoSM Fire, Sacred Soulfire in and outside. They understandably wanted a more artistic show of thrilling bliss, than an alchemic fire of sane character, so I brought my Indigo Bro Brian James to the table on the one that The Gossamer Court and mz imani co-produced. Brian has not stopped working for the Grey’s. One of my functions as faery king, from love to creative partnerships is to play match maker. With Susan Buck and Brian we got it right. It was a pleasure taking second chair with mz imani on that one but after that Brian was the perfect co-producer with his Phantomime troupe. We are getting a consensus now and Lady Elle is greatly desired as one of the co-facilitators. The Lady is a wonderful magician. In my times with imani, and there is never enough, she encourages us to pursue world peace through co-creation and the elements, fire being a central theme, a fire always for the greater good, one that we are going to seal. Most of those who have encouraged us to put together this alchemic fire at Starwood, besides many of the Indigo within the GC are, like myself, of Shaman imani. They are the ones right now, who are volunteering for altar building and many other positions. Near 40 have responded and this is magnificent because we want this to be the fire of give, take and co-create for one and all. You can almost hear Billy Bardo doing his fire rap. We had a blast one year in Ohio, getting Incus, who were superb that year, to Summerset months after Greening, Starwood, just before The Cincy Witches Ball, which we also helped with. My experiences with Jason Cohen on fires of intent where quite nice. Lady Heather and others are back from being with Jeff McBride. We have a wealth of experience to create this magical child from. Our policy in anything that The GC does of a magical nature is that we neither walk in front of nor behind but beside the tribe. The artists, drummers, musicians in our company live for the smiles, blissful expressions and co creation of our fellow seekers and tribekins, So kids, lets make a baby, a magical, enchanting child that will make this world a better place. Someone asked about intent. We are as a body of shaman, witches, wizards and magi putting a sort of fire libretto together so folks cab understand the hocus pocus and the intent Some time ago we began to revise our rituals. May the healing warmth of enlightenment find all who are prepared for the burdening crown of wisdom. May and might all who know little more than the darkness of desolation, dance with us now, dancing into the blissful and harmonious light of good health, wisdom and love, guided by the spirit of greater good. An Alchemic Fire At Starwood This Year?

Many Blessings, A few folks have expressed interest over the last couple of years in having a Starwood alchemical fire hosted by the Gossamer Court.. Attached is a note from Dancing Tree Joe: Prince of The Dancing Flame and Fire Master extraordinaire of The Gossamer Court, among other wonderful efforts. If you have something to contribute like you wish to be a part of bliss patrol, watering the dancers and drummers, donations of supplies, food etc... , please let me know... gossamer.court@yahoo.com Well, it seems as though that the likelihood of an alchemical fire happening this year on The OM Planet is very strong because that number of interested folk has grown substantially since a few of us so-called “heavy hitters” began to inquire if said fire were possible due to interest from our constituency. People have had a very tough year and the world does indeed need our medicine and magick. It actually goes on beyond this one year, as our beloved Daltons had a health crisis that affected one and all. Jah-d lost his lead singer in a tragic accident and very recently HP Michael Palermo (44) died from a massive heart attack while driving. Laura lost Travis. While we know in our heart that all will be well in the end, it does not stop us from missing presence. We are satisfied that there is great interest for all the losses alone. Even if we are unable to get The North Pavilion for this “off the books event” on Thursday night, beginning at about midnight. This has been a very rough year for many and we need an alchemical fire, one of give and take. The Gossamer Court does many things off the books at Starwood. This is going to be one of them but it should be noted that this is a co-creative effort, aided and assited by individuals and groups from all over the sacred map of our world. Rogue performance brings a certain charm with it but spontaneous ritual brings serious magick, even enchantment sometimes. It is definitely tied to the spirit of the founders as they have inspired me. This world could stand allot more of these things. Many of us love spontaneity and the magick that charged, like minded spirits can create together. Lets play and introduce some of our new found friends to another beautiful aspect of the magickal experience. For the novice or first timer, the alchemists fire is a little more focused than the larger fires out and about in Brushwood. The fire is fine tuned and sealed. The actions of co-creativity are many parts of the whole = The Sacred One. In that state of love, we make beautiful things happen together, as we manifest dreams. Our HP, Lady Heather, was very much inspired when she passed on greetings from the Gossamer Court to Jeff Mc Bride at Wisteria, out in Ohio this Summer solstice passed. The GC is about healing through art and the fire is a magnificent way to heal. We want to bring this wonderful practice to others, especially those from within our community. For those of you who have never experienced the spiritual rubies of these fires of co-creation, you might want to dust yourself off, pick yourself up and let your hands, feet, lips and mind be completely free. This type of fire brings to all hearts, the warmth of liberation and ecstasy. Those who know me well, have suffered watching me grow. While we must joyfully participate in the suffering of others because it is our collective own, we must not allow needless pain and suffering to happen, whenever and wherever possible.
