sorry you find it so horrid...its actually pretty amazing... I don't like the skin though it was value engineered from a 350 million budget....some extraordinary craftsmanship on the interior.

I loved it until they started putting the glass up. The interior looks like it will be amazing. I can't wait to get in.

Funny you should mention the glass...I also don't like skin. The glazing has a patterned film to cut down on the direct sunlight that will enter the church. I was talking with an architectural critic about the glass skin. We both found it to be too much like the surrounding office vernacular....blech! But the truth is the glass skin was to have more pronounced vertical mullion or fin...unfortunately it got Valued Engineered. Cest Lav Vie.

Some of the more literal iconography was thankfully axed by the designers involved. The project has a rather interesting history of 3 architectural firms involved...including Calatrava.
