My Testimonials

August 7, 2009
This woman boggles my mind. I thought I knew what the words "strength" & "inspiration" meant. (although I can imagine her rolling her eyes as she reads this!)

They were only mere words to me before I had the pleasure of meeting Crypto here on Tribe (I've yet to have the honor to meet her in person, but it's high on my list of goals).

I once made the mistake of taking her for granted, and my stupidity made me not see how very special she is. I'm glad we've gotten past that (although I still regret & cringe when I think about it sometimes!)

Don't make that same mistake. Because a person like Crypto is a very, very rare treasure. Only a fool would pass her up as a friend.

Well, I've made it another day without getting stricken from her friend-list, so, clearly this is a person of great temperance, and a gentle nature. Frankly, how many of us truly deserve this kind of benevolent grace? So, when she's taking a little piece of you, just be glad she's not taking what you actually owe her.

Re: Rally for Oscar Grant. I know it doesn't go here, but most people don't read the even postings. (in Burning Man) Then can I at least ask why, if Glennzzz objects to "white guilt," why it isn't hypocritical of him to participate in an event that is designed to induce liberal/enviro-guilt?

Airing a Fevered Brain

Now the string in my leg is kind of like the Loch Ness Monster.
The "Neck" and "Head" being an end of string, and there is also a "Hump" or loop of string.

This is really kinda weird...

Have you ever noticed that when you attend a business function with a powerpoint lecture that half the slides are hurried through or skipped? Cause it's like that pretty much always for me. If the information isn't important, why put it on slides? If it is important, why skip it?
Or is PowerPoint kind of a crock? Not all it's cracked up to be?

Some people I know think this camel is ridiculous. I like it. Thrift store purchase. Great use of sequins. He (she? with those lashes) comes from Kazakhstan. (Okay, I know I spelled Kezhastan wrong, but "workstation" as a suggestion? Ahk) I know camels are nasty, spitting beasts. I still like this fluffy one, all dolled up for a caravan across the desert. That doesn't make much sense. Camels are like mules--they work hard and have no glamour.

I don't know what to think about November 11th. I prefer "Armistice Day" because it celebrates peace, or at least peace's prelude, truce. And because it's so specific to WWI. Maybe it's hearing too much that cliche about writing "Be specific."
I distrust this era of "supporting the troops." I think it's a covert right-wing thing: "support the troops" becomes a code for "continue tha war" as if having them kill and die in a stupid, unnecessary, imperialist war is supportive. And the left... read more
