Five Things I am a Big Geek About

#1: Music. I have very strong opinions about music and songwriting. When listening to music I've never heard before I find it difficult to listen without deconstructing it (chord changes, form, etc.) I have a strangely paradoxical aesthetic: I hate the banal, pseudo-angst-ridden, over-compressed, insipid pabulum that passes for popular music but some of my favorite songs are simple, meaningless pop ear candy.
