We've been on the island now for a little over a week, and it has rained it all the time. I'm hijaking a nice ladies iternet conection right now, as the rain has broken for a few hours and we are loosed on the east end of the island. We have been camping it hardcore style in the forest, wao akua like, and soaked to the bone, but loving it. Been home for a few days now, but resistance to assimilation, while futile, is still a gnarly struggle. Jet lag and general malaise. The pressure to obtain (yet) another new job, to get set up for the fall and winter (and beyond?) here, re connect with my west coast friends and family, wait for Christopher to get back, as he stayed in NY a little longer to visit his dad, all this stuff and the fact that I miss my boat terribly, has me moving a little slow. Sleeping a little extra.

Waiting at my friends' apartment in Harlem for my flight back to Seattle in a couple of days. Rushed out here on the spur of a summer moment to cover a little more than a month of cooking for my boat. I love that dang boat, and was getting a little weary of the west coast again. you know how I do.
