about me
I am an over-achiever, driven by artistic energy, fueled by passion to a fault, in love with personal expression of thought & feeling and the freedom thereof. I am insanely persistent and persistently insane. I will still be standing there when everyone else has given up and gone home. I am fiercely gentle and gently fierce. I want to make people feel good. I want to make people feel. I want to feel people... all over. I want to touch people and I want people to touch me... all over. I am a lover, not a fighter. I believe in living truthfully and in the moment -- this moment, right now. I believe that anything is possible, in the power of making choices and that nothing was "meant to be", yet every choiceless choice which is made in the collective consciousness happens for a reason. I am a fallible human being doing my best to live fearlessly within turbulent and fear filled times in peace; with love, compassion and respect for everyone, everywhere, everyday.

My Tibetan Buddhist refuge name, given to me by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche on Jan 13, 2006 is: Palchen Chötsam.

The succinct and alltogether translation of the name:
Great Glorious Dharma Holder.

The broken down translation:

Pal = Glorious.
Chen = Great.

Chö = Dharma; truth; all phenomena; anything that can be experienced, thought of, or known; the teachings of the Buddha.
tSam = to think; ponder, reflect, contemplate, visualize, plan, consider, feel, realize; to imagine.

read my blog, read my mind...

Shortly after I had posted my findings about the article and photo supposedly showing Chinese soldiers dressing as Tibetan monks during the recent unrest in Tibet, I was contacted by Mark Magnier, the Beijing Bureau chief of the LA Times. He called me from Beijing and we spoke for about an hour. I related all of the details and sources for my information, and then had an interesting discussion about the media in the 'Too-Much-Information Age', the Jeffersonian explication of a 'marketplace of... read more

There is an image and a story travelling around the internet in emails and plastered all over the blogosphere right now that needs to be addressed.

I received the following email thru a large Buddhist community's email list. The article claims British intelligence has taken images, via satelitte, of Chinese soldiers dressed as Tibetans starting the recent violence in Lhasa, Tibet. The image that accompanied the article seemed somewhat familar to me... that and the fact that the image's ang... read more

Off the eastern coast of India in the Bay of Bengal - lay a large island country called Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka was once known by the ancient name of "Serendip".

There is a story of Serendip that tells of an ordinary young man, a tailor from Persia, who was chosen to be sent to the far east by the King to find Sarin, a fabled land of magical silk, and bring back as much as he could to make the King's royal garments.

He sailed for many months in search of Sarin without luck. Eventually, he ... read more

This common thought that 'Love Hurts' is a bit narrow-minded and doesn't see much outside of it's own bruised ego.

In fact, quite the opposite of hurting, there is no more joyful feeling than completely offering your unconditional love to another being.

Attachment hurts. (and is often mistaken for love).

Desiring something in exchange for your love or something/one you can't have – this will also inevitably hurt.

The first teaching that the Buddha offered after he attained enlig... read more

if you let go
and allow yourself to
give in to awareness:
of your surroundings
of the present moment
of all phenomenal experience -
your mind will reveal itself.

you will know it when you see it,
and you will stand in awe at its
extraordinary power & beauty
and its completely ordinary existence.
