BRAG Bike Ride Across GA 400 miles !!

Just got home from a 400+ mile bike ride. oh yea, that's RIGHT! Team TOE is had a crazy time, painting funky art on the toes of riders, then tripping the country locals out as we ask them to vote on their favorite design. Dragonfly Dragster…

While riding the Comet trail today, training for the BRAG bike ride across GA, a DragonFly joined me in my speed ride up the straight path around mile marker 11. I thought it was a coincidence at first. I looked over and he was just beside my shoulder, buzzing along. I sped up, he sped up,… I zigged a little, then he showed me a thing or two. He started to zig/zag between the trees, by the path! I thought I left him in the trees, then he got right back on trail again, beside my shoulder!! again !! I sped up, he sped up,… I looked over at him again, and I swear it seemed like he gave me a nod, then he just blew past me, and left me to eat his dust. So look out for the Dragonfly Dragster around mile marker 11, on the Silver Comet trail, he’s got a taste for speed, and he means business!

Contradiction

My latest piece is called “Contradiction”. She is a contradiction, because her beauty looking forward, contradicts the rough struggles of her past. Made from a cedar log with a rough exterior, she is a gift to my logging friend who hooked me up with 3000lbs of precious hard wood recently. Uplifting Oakland Cemetery

Isn’t it interesting how Oakland Cemetery has such an uplifting energy compared to other cemeteries? Yesterday’s little bluegrass/zydeco event in the cemetery was a blast, full of good food, cold beer, music, friends, and smiles all around.

Awesome Alchemy

Alchemy turned out to be an awesome event! I know many of my fire friends were still tired from Burning Man, and I missed them dearly at Alchemy. I ended up meeting an entirely new crew of fire spirits, and we had a BLAST! The Cherokee Farm fields are huge, and we had a blast riding art cars in wide open spaces. I feel enriched by these new friends, and I am forever grateful for all the friends I have. Time of the Season

I am here to tell ya, this was a special moment! These people are some close friends and we enjoyed making some good music that night and morning. Just before the sunrise, right out of the blue, the bass player started playing the bass line from the old tune, Time of the Season, by the Zombies, DAMN, we all drifted off to another place and time, and start humming and singing as the sun rose. The thing you can not see, and I could not get a picture of, was moments earlier, a heavy fog was laying in the grassy field just below the rays of the sun. Several of our friends were out there running and dancing through the fog. It was what I call, a “Spiritually Tactile moment”. The kind that makes the hairs on the back of your neck rise up. Community art sculpture

Recently I have been doing impromptu sculpture clinics at festivals, giving people the opportunity to use my wood sculpting tools, and allow them to express themselves in a community art sculpture. I’ve found great reward in this, and believe everyone has creativity just waiting to be released. As I enticed people to contribute, they often would warn me about their meager artistic skills. I say bull hockey, slim sham-mo-locky! As they hammer into the project, they soon realize, they too can make art, and set their spirit freeeeee! One beautiful spirit, spent an hour carving a special place in the sculpture, to embed a token from a lost loved. She broke down after completing her carving, and I felt truly grateful to help facilitate her release. Thank you all for your contribution. Create it, and set it free….
