It's no longer just my blog. It's the first great open social network site. Think tribe but without the censorship. It's growing pretty fast too. Finally a place to call home. What have I been up to? Unfortunately, not so much of tribe lately. There are some of you here who have chosen to stay on tribe who I really, really enjoy chatting with, and look forward to chatting with, and miss chatting with. I've been thinking that I may need to put tribe on some kind of schedule so that I can be sure to check it more regularly. I have to put my life on schedule now too. I am finally relocated back into CA and trying to find my rhythm here. So much going on, so much to do, and so much I'm behind on. Grrrr. Not quite myself yet, but I'm getting there. I'm very behind on messages here so I apologize for that and I'll be getting back to everyone ASAP. Hope all is well in your land, I'd love to hear about it. New Tribe Rules Suck!

They're no longer permitting nude pictures in any of the tribes. This move by tribe could turn out with ugly consequences because then, there would be better 'groups' online that allow adult photos. I'm not solely here for the adult photographs, but that is the reason that I am an active member of some of my tribes. As I'm saying in all my tribes: "YEAH IT SUCKS! It's bad enough this country is led by a child now all these changes are treating us as if we're children too. Adults should be allowed to do adult things and be adult about it."

Hurricane Katrina Part 3: Help On The Way

As I'm watching CNN news, there are military vehicles on the way with soldiers and food. Hopefully there won't be a rush of people getting out of control and storming the trucks. The soldier are instructed not to use their weapons. As I see the soldiers arrive and walk in a single file line around the people inside, I can only imagine what's going through their minds. Bush was FINALLY criticized for his lack of support and involvment in the relief effort. Today was the first day he touched ground where the devistated areas are. Congressional Leaders said the black and poor population of New Orleans was suffering disproportionately. Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans spoke with frustration about Bush and his administration live on WWL Radio saying "Don't do another press conference until the resources are in this city...Don't tell me 40,000 people have come in here. They're not here. It's too dog on late. Now get off your asses and let's do somethin' and let's fix the biggest goddam crisis in the history of this country." Nagin like many others are upset with Bush for "thinking small" in the face of the massive crisis. Even Republicans were criticizing Bush and his administration for the sluggish relief effort. "I think it puts into question all of the Homeland Security and Northern Command planning for the last four years, because if we can't respond faster than this to an event we saw coming across the Gulf for days, then why do we think we're prepared to respond to a nuclear or biological attack?" said former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. It's also been said that factors in Bush's poor decision response are race and social standing of the victims. They showed him comforting only a couple Cleaned Up survivors on the news, which says to me that was surely just for publicity. I'd like to see him going to the major areas and comforting the thousands of people there, even if only by voice. I'd love to see him embrace one of the black people there who are in tears. For those that don't know, Bush's Administration cut funding for the levees in New Orleans and it was predicted that something like this would happen some time ago. I don't have very many friends online that I consider to be real 'friends' to the meaning, so there are few people that I keep in touch with over the years. But one such friend does read my blog (I'm flattered he does), but he was also interested in going to one of the events in New Orleans. I didn't know it at the time I wrote that last entry, but he told me that he feels bad for everything that happened and he has donated to the Red Cross. He also said he would have proudly proceeded with his plans if the city had power and water available in the French Quarter alone. He said the news reports weren't that bad so I can understand how he might've felt if his local station wasn't covering the event properly. I'd been watching CNN nonstop pretty much so I got a better idea of what was going on. I'm guessing that there are other's whose town wasn't covering the event realistically and maybe that's why they still wanted to go. HOWEVER, my friend did also say that "After a disaster occurs, communities need tourists coming in and spending money...which is exactly what I, and others, would have done." Now I still consider him to be a friend, and I'm not angry at him, so I tried to respond the best I could: "You make a good point about tourism bringin in money, but helping out the state in that way was the last thing on your mind and on other guy's minds and you know it. I've known you to be a one-track minded guy too and you go to these events for really one reason. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I've been known to do the same myself. But in this case, the town is literally experiencing the biggest natural devastation in U.S. history. People for days now have no food, water, bathroom, or place to clean. There's dead bodies and human shit in the same sheltered areas as people . Now people are going crazy and shooting at rescue choppers, attacking other people, looting, and there's still so much work to be done. It's still in my opinion, inconsiderate and inconceivable to even think there's a good time waiting to be had there. I hope that didn't come across as personal because I would say that to every guy who was hoping to attend an event after seeing the hurricane devistation. I don't consider you any less of a friend. I'm just speaking out for all the people who have died and are suffering from this and on top of that I have family affected by this as well." What do you guys think? I hope everyone is alright. It looks like such a mess. All kinds of chaos going on. I had talked with a few guys online and was disgusted that they were still hoping that they would be able to go to Southern Decadence and Convergence. I think it's very insensitive. Obviously, the event has now been canceled, but I don't think they needed to hear that before canceling any plans they had. So much devistation right now for people, all I can do is count my blessings and pray for those in need.
