The Dalai Lama says

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
-----------------------------------------------------------
All the waters and rivers of different lands and climes have their ultimate viewpoints on society, the variety of economic theories, and the means to their attainment benefit mankind itself.
There is no point in indulging in dissension-creating discussions on differing ideologies. No positive result has accrued from attempting to convert all men of different temperaments and likings into one common ideology and mode of behavior. This can clearly be seen from the contemporary history of both the East and the West.
------------------------------------------------------------
In present circumstances, no one can afford to assume that someone else with solve their problems.
Every individual has a responsibility to help guide our global family in the right direction. Good wishes are not sufficient; we must become actively engaged.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Delusion is a state of mind that is very obvious: when it arises within the mind it causes mental disturbances and anxieties in the individual. Furthermore, it causes many problems and difficulties in society, often on a national scale.
Right from the beginning of human civilization, delusions have been the real causes of problems, trouble, and conflict within society. It is delusion that forces one to be attracted and attached to one's own side and to feel hatred and anger toward the opposite side. Thus, one creates many divisions within the human community. All of these come about through the underlying force of the attachment to one's own self.

20 WAYS TO LOVE YOUR BODY!! Compiled by Margo Maine, Ph.D.

1. Think of your body as the vehicle to your dreams. Honor it. Respect it. Fuel it.
2. Create a list of all the things your body lets you do. Read it and add to it often.
3. Become aware of what your body can do each day. Remember it is the instrument of your life, not just an ornament.
4. Create a list of people you admire: people who have contributed to your life, your community, or the world. Consider whether their appear... read more

I know that the Post-Playa Blues are common. It's to be expected. We've all had them before. I know what they feel like.
It would be nice to be able to dismiss what I'm feeling these days as the PPB. However, I'm pretty sure that's not what it is. For starters, I'm not really missing the playa. This was a hard year for me as well as for many of my good friends. There were some highlights, but, for the most part, I felt out of sorts. A feeling which seemed to build as the week wen... read more

So what surprises me more than people feeling the need to write about what they were thinking about on the John this morning; why they think Lucky Charms have gone downhill since they started adding new marshmallow shapes; or what they did or will do over the weekend; is that we actually read it. In fact, we actually ENJOY reading it. Why else would we go back for more? I guess it's like reality TV for people who prefer to read.
Now what about those book snobs that shun the TV and think... read more

So from where does this colorful expression come? I did a little research and found some interesting ideas.
It is believed to date back to the early 20th century when most outhouses were constructed out of wood. A brick outhouse, in addition to being solidly built, was a rare and luxurious item worth noting. It has also been speculated that it is additionally applicable due to the fact that bricks are "stacked" much like a woman to whom the expression would be applied might be. Interesti... read more

Tim is THE MAN! He's the guy that will pick you up, make you dinnner, let you watch a movie sprawled on his giant couch, clear your place & THEN take you home. All because he wants to hang out with you. He's a great cook, creative spirit, a true friend that knows the value of friendship & just generally a stand up person. I'm sooooooo glad he adopted me & I adopted him back! Ladies, THIS is the golden ticket!

He reminds me of Hiro Protagonist in the Metaverse (no pizza delivery, but much badass charisma)...

the sparkle in his eyes would make you jump in puddles gleefully or melt, butter-like, on top of whatever metaphorical pancake is in front of you,

His laugh contagious, his hugs warm, encompassing, and genuine, and his chivalry undeterred in the face of the overly jaded MTV generation,

He's sweet and delectable like green tea gelato,
and someone I'm truly happy to know. You too should have the same pleasure.

And did I mention, he's hot as Thai peppers? RRRRrrrRrrowl!
