My Testimonials

November 1, 2005
Let me tell you about the most wonderful woman in the world.
(yes, this one, you jerks!)
I could go on and on about my personal princess, but I'm only able to shirk work for another 30 minutes, so this brief overview will have to do. She puts up with me, takes care of me when I'm sick, makes me food, makes me the occasional piece of clothing, makes me laugh (especially when I'm worked up about something completely irrelevant), is a great audience for me (it's all about me, after all), is patient with me (especially when I lag about giving her a testimonial), is just as big a dork as me (yes, that's a good thing), is beautiful, kind, gentle and as loving as any hopes I could have.

I am blessed to be with her.

Re: The sound of freedom (in Intellectual Barbarians) The sound of freedom is a well-tuned motorcycle engine working through the gears as it accelerates.

Re: Further alembications and caveats . Still Further .And Yet Further Still . (in Cripple Fight) It's bedtime for me, so some of this will be taken up later. When I speak of valium and other tranquilizers, I speak from experience. There's more to the story, but I don't know if I want to share, or that you would want to read about it. So lo... read more

Re: ANSWER FOR MOLLY on what the difference is . (in Intellectual Barbarians) I don't really mind one way or the other, although a contradiction would be interesting. You, however, seem very emotionally invested in the law of non-contradiction. You busted out the all caps, even. Why is that?

Re: Further alembications and caveats . Still Further . (in Cripple Fight) It sounds to me like you are just hell bent on having sex. I've laid out quite a few options for you, and you've turned your nose up at them all. So you want to pass along your DNA for your ancestors and not yourself. It's still a want, no matt... read more

Re: Further alembications and caveats (in Cripple Fight)
RESPONSE: But it is NOT a selfish desire. It is an *other- directed* desire, NOT a desire directed toward self . Those sorts of desire are qualitatively different --ands so it would be lateral thinking fallacy to try and conflate them . (Lateral... read more

Ambien Prophecies

My friend from work posted on Facebook that he needed to find a home for his cat, otherwise he’d go to the pound. So, of course, I talked to my husband and we decided to foster the cat until we could find him a good home. Originally, my mom was going to take him, but after looking at his picture decided not to. I really don’t know why, he’s a beautiful cat. Leo is a five year-old black, long-haired and BIG. I mean, Maine Coon big, with stunning green eyes.

On Monday night Kevin, my ... read more

Dear President McCarthy,

I am writing to you because you are the captain of the proverbial ship, and events have transpired that you should be aware of. Pardon me if I take a somewhat circuitous route, I promise that I will get to the point.

I was diagnosed as having fibromyalgia while an employee at the college. I had worked there in various capacities for nearly six years, mostly in the Testing and Tutoring Center. I loved my job – I was devoted to it. I had colleagues that I resp... read more

"Olympics protesters clash with police in Beijing

BEIJING (AP) — A small group of protesters has clashed with police near Tiananmen Square in China's capital, saying they were evicted from their homes to make way for reconstruction ahead of the Olympic Games.

The two dozen demonstrators scuffled with police Monday in the historic Qianmen district just south of Tiananmen.

The protest... read more

I was making this for someone's birthday. I was going to give it to her tomorrow. I'd just finished securing the tail of the thread and weaving it through, when I went to cut it off.....

Now I'm counting to ten....

...and ten again....

I was making a green something for another friend, but I'm afraid to touch it now.

I'm going to fix it and give it to her later, I just can't look at it for a little while. Tomorrow, I'm just going to bring a nice bottle of wine. And may... read more
